Camshafts, Camshafts And More Camshafts
Public Enemy replied to N1GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeap i've been bitten by using JUN cams with standard buckets and big shims. Destroyed the entire head when the sim popped out of the bucket. Had to do it all again. -
I ALWAYS keep at least 5k in my piggy bank Just in case something goes wrong. Nothing worse than hearing stories of skylines off the road for months on end while the owner is saving up for a new engine. O yeah and be prepared to be harrassed by the cops.

Quick get in first and fire bomb you local Police station. (just jokes big brother) anyways yeah i'm interested in going E85 too but doubt it will be here anytime soon. Might have to get the moonshine still back out and start making my own.

Godzilla Motorsport's R34 Gtr (rh9)
Public Enemy replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
absolutely awesome machine. well done boys. Just a few $$ in that package i'm sure. 930hp ATW is an amazing feat. 930Kw ATW is just insane. I find it difficult to comprehend what that must be like to limiter launch. -
Such a shame. sacrifice his only life to save another. RIP

Who Here Has Put A Complete Rb26 Into A Vl?
Public Enemy replied to Richo11's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
go for it dude. The VL has cult car status IMO. Won't be as cool as a Stagea but were all bias here. To use an RB30 sump you will need an adaptor plate. Most people cut the diff housing of the RB26 sump and then weld it up. As someone has said before use the rb26 loom and ecu or powerfc. What have you got for a gearbox and diff? -
Well i guess this has turned into another single vs twin singles thread, and the twin fanboys weren't even invited!! Before i run away with my tail between my legs i'll just add, yes i did go buy the complete HKS kit inc gate and manifold aswell as all the brackets, hoses, heat shields and fittings that come in the kit with the T04Z. And the gate is all nicely plumbed back into the dump. As for "being over changing housings after the second go", well speak for yourself. It's not like i'm going to be doing it every week, maybe once or twice a year dude. I plan to get banned from the drags first night out so that negates the need for the 1.00 anymore. How a single air compressor pushing out x amount of air compared to twin air compressors pushing out the same amount of air as the single is any less legal is beyond me. Sure it's a bit more obvious when you pop the hood but eventually with the way things are going thats not going to matter. You might get away with your upgraded twin singles for a little while but there are plenty of defectable modifications needed to run any turbo upgrade properly. Better of engineering it either way in the first place. Yes that's right folks bigger twins are a MODIFICATION.

i don't believe a .61 rear is going to strangle the T04Z that much. We all know it's near impossible to build an RB that is going to be responsive for the street / motorkana, make good mid range for circuit racing, and make high Hp for the Drags. My thinking was to run the T04Z with .61 for street / motor kana getting improved response and probably still 500hp atw, more than enough for this. And with the .61 making full boost early and the gate coming wide open alot of the exhaust is going to bypass the turbo anyway so it won't strangle it that much. Run the .81 for the circuit getting reasonable midrange and good top end. Should be no problem keeping this setup in the powerband on a circuit. Run the 1.00 for drags for max top end HP and not so laggy it will hurt your 60. 3 good setups for different uses easliy configured in a couple of hours with a few of gaskets, a map change and a rear housing change. Beats have 3 different turbo's, manifolds and plumbing. Anyone have a .61 twin scroll they don't want?

geez, lotta people in this thread getting around in Bali spec Rolex's and K-Mart shoes. The only thing that shits me about having a GENUINE Tag Heuer is when people ask how much i paid for it in Bali. Anyway i got the genuine Works Bell quick release and locking system and i found the engineering, quality and finish so bloody tops, i ordered a genuine Works Bell steering wheel to go with it. Goes real nice with my Defi Gauges, HKS Turbo charger kit, Tomei stroker crank, rods, pistons, cams and all the other parts that come from leading japanese manufacturers. Do it once, do it right. Genuine parts all the way. You'll find Tuners won't be so reluctant to pump 2 bar into your engine when it's not built from Chinese components. -
Here are some pics of my fuel system when under construction. I havn't done alot of kms yet but have had no probs so far. Running Aeromotive fuel pump and fuel pump controller, along with 2 filters and Aeromotive FPR. It receives an RPM signal from the ECU and adjusts pump voltage. Has Anyone Fit 255 On 7.5
Public Enemy replied to deano27's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I don't suggest you do this but my first car was a 1966 HR Holden that i ground up rebuilt from the time i was 15. I ran 14 x 7 rims all round with 245 on the front and 265 on the rear. They were hell ballooned and no doubt illegal. I used to sh1t myself when putting air in them. I got a yellow sticker at one stage for using a rag as a breather cap. I went over the pits with said tyres for an extention expecting to fail. The inspector was so impressed with how it drove and handled he passed it even with tramp bars fitted. LOL The rears were almost bald so he suggested i replace them with someting of more appropriate size. Ah them were the good old days. -
i'll bet my ass that if any these events ever come up when i'm in Perth, spots will sell out before i'll know about it. Jeez work sux. Can i send you my roster to plan one of these around me . pwetty please.

I'm running oil pressure, boost pressure, fuel pressure, water temp and oil temp. All in Defi. lookz sex and perform faultlessly. Just need orange leds in my Nismo cluster to match it up. The alarm settings and memory recall / play back make these instuments invaluable on a high performance engine IMO.

G'day mate, i feel your pain, hope it all works out for ya. I don't know enough about RB's to give advice so i'll just ask a few questions to maybe help out the more knowledgable people on this forum. Does the RB30 run a big end bearing cradle like the RB26 does? I assume you had no oil pressure problems but what sort of pump are you running? Was the grade of oil suitable for the bearing clearences you were running? The engine builder should recommend the weight of oil suitable for your bearing clearences. With the way you have described your driving habbits it sounds to me more like a lubrication problem than anything else. What sort of power you running? 30psi from a T51R for example may offer some explanation, but 10psi on a stock turbo wouldn't. Assuming this is a rear wheel drive skyline i find it unbelievable that you would have been able to hook it up well enough on the street to bend or flex the crank. Good luck with it.

LOL, just call me Queenie - thanks for that but i think the cops might think i'm on my way to the gay pride mardi gra, prolly end up with more than a yellow sticker.
