  1. Yeah the centre caps is one part I need, but there are others too. Complex wheels the 1's I've got. Thanks for the info may use them if I have to
  2. Hi everyone, As stated on the thread topic I've got some BBS rims that I want to buy a few replacement/spare bits for. Does anyone know who would be worth a shot locally? I tried Wheel Works but they don't even sell BBS rims & put it in the too hard basket. Haven't had more time to look around yet, but anyone who thinks they may know of a place to get them the info would be appreciated. Already did a net search & nothing local came up. Cheers, Jared
  3. Ok my $2 worth I did some serious tyre research when I bought mine a & the 2 I'd recommend are the latest Yokahama Advans or Dunlop Sport Maxx. I put the Advans on the front of my car a few months back & all I can say is it's unbelieveable how well the car turns in now. They have completely transformed the cars dynamics on the front end, so much sharper & precise with grip levels so much higher than the S306 Yokies that were on before hand & they have great rim protection too. I'd also recommend the sport maxx dunlops as they are highly rated. Bridgestone is massively overpriced & ride on their motorsport reputation just like Michelien. they don't make tyres for the road that justify their price however. I have no doubt what I have is at least 99% as good as bridgestone S03's (I actually read a lot of complaints about these tyres from customers on a US web site & no they weren't driving cadillacs) for a massive chunk of money less. They were even cheaper than what I was quoted for the Grid III's! I also had the S306 Yokies on the back of my car before going to the K104's & I have to say even after the S306's they're a dissapointment. Definantely more predictable than the S306's - most likely due to stiffer side walls - but they are noisy & lack grip in comparison for both cornering & acceleration especially in the wet, I won't be buying them again. Hey Hotwire, think I've seen you heading north along Lonsdale Highway in the after noon a few times I live down Hallett Cove, think I see you going the other way usually. As for Bob Jane I will never touch Bob Jane again with a pole long enough to reach from the moon. I had a wheel alignment done by them TWICE & it still wasn't right. Took it to Wise Choice Tyres down south where the guy spent twice as much time on it for LESS money & it came out sweet. He found loose adjustments (explained why my alignment went out after just a few weeks of driving), cambers just hadn't been done at all like they should have been & he managed to get the steering wheel straight, which they couldn't! Please note this is the marion/sturt stores I'm on about, but the guy I got to align my wheels had a generally low opinion of Bob Jane as he used to work for them!
  4. Put me down as a maybe, not because of the weather either.
  5. Yeah well that's what you're meant to do..... according to the law. It's probably the situation that more motorists speed than any other due to the inherent danger of being on the wrong side of the road, which is much greater than speeding. I for one will speed as much as I have to to get around a slower car - no matter how slow/fast they are - as quickly as possible. The less time you're on the wrong side of the road the better. Long distance trips are so much longer if you stay behind a slightly slower vehicle too. 10 kph may not sound like much but drive for 10 hours & you've got an extra hour still to drive. Also brings up the issue of driving fatigue, the longer you're on the road, the more dangerous you become. All issues that the law never considers
  6. Looks good Andrew, don't forget the gold chains (for you) & badges once ur done with the calipers
  7. In actual fact the amout of money it costs in injuries & deaths caused by these dickheads, far outweighs what it costs to lock them up & prevent the accidents happening. I think the key thing that's always missed is it's not how fast you go, it's where you do. There is such a thing as INAPROPRIATE speed. Personally I don't have a problem with someone doing 200 km/h on an open straight piece of road in daylight, but a busy suburban street at night is another story. Granted it may not have been the case with this 18 y.o. (not enough info) but he proved how street wise he was by getting caught in the first place.
  8. Man you guys still talking about this. I've been away for 5 weeks in Europe & still it hasn't happend. Think I'll rename this the Commodore thread, lots of torque not much action
  9. ^^^ Couldn't agree more. Just makes me wonder how crazy is the guy named Dangerman 1........... Sounds like it'll be a serious handfull, who needs raging bulls when you can have a high HP quad.
  10. Yes this is very true, a few people may remember an event organised last year from a month in advance was done that way & was probably one of the biggest turn outs we've ever had. It may be an idea to even create a thead of rules for organisers & attendees.
  11. Bugger I'll be away when it's on. Maybe next time
  12. ^^^ That's a flash back to the old commodore 64 for me. Was actually Test Drive 2, Test drive 1 had a Ferrari Testarossa instead
  13. Funny I've got a picture of one on my desktop at the moment. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the F40 (Ferrari's were my childhood fave) as well at the Testarossa. F40 is a fantastic car, built for no compromise speed & NOT comfort, would be an awsome machine to drive. Was reacently rated in europe as one of the top 10 supercars of all time, along with the R34 GT-R......
  14. I'd possibly be up for something like go-karting. Don't really have the time & money to spend most of a day going paintballing at the moment since I bugger off OS late next month for a while....
  15. They're pefectly legal as long as you use amber bulbs (which are included in the kit). Got them on my car & love the look.
  16. Thanks for a great night everyone. One of the more rapid cruises I'd been on. Sorry I took off a bit quick without saying goodbye to a number of you. Was kinda buggered
  17. Definantely DONT go the CES. The wastegate pipe isn't even mandrel bent, it's crush bent. Looks all nice & shiny, but an engineering cockup from start to finish with the O2 sensor issue. From memory, Bosch specifies that the sensor should be mounted above horizontal so that the section of piping it's on does not collect/drain water. I do actually have a BOS dump, but got screwed over when he changed supplier. I had my cat back system custom made to fit on the dump I got from him only to have that crack. He sent me a replacement, but didn't fit the same & the exhaust sat twisted & at a different angle (not a good look with twin pipe). I've had a dodgy job done to get the new one to fit to my cat back. When I did some checks it turned out that the first dump had been set up wrong when compared to the original & the new one was correct. So I've spent $1400 on a stainless steel cat back exhaust system only to have to spend more money on it to make it fit right. Money I shouldn't have to spend, but since I sent the first one back I've heard shit. Before that he was talking about helping me out. Very pissed off. I can say that the new type one does make good power (as you have seen before cubes), but I'm a bit wary of the quality of fitment.
  18. Interesting idea & wouldn't be hard to do, but totally illegal.
  19. Others were running those kinds of numbers yes, but none of them had a full turbo back exhaust system (should know I asked them all ). I actually had a power gain from 1 dump pipe to another too (1st one cracked & you could feel the difference with the second 1) as it was a different & much better design. As far as I know the AFR's were good, but not sure on exact readings. Biggest problem though is that it couldn't hold that power for long due to the pissy SMIC.
  20. Sorry I did't turn up didn't realise it was going to be that late. Just finishing at the gym at that time. Will definantely have to drop by 1 day & check out what you guys have though;
  21. Not a freak Cubes. You may not remember that my R33 pulled 177RWKW on the SAU dyno day last year & that was WITHOUT an FMIC & just stock boost..... I must admit the 3-inch exhaust system transformed the top end power of my car (2 stage boost control sucks), something Whiplash has witnessed fromt the passenger seat. Will be interested to see what it pulls when those mods are done to my car
  22. Well you must have gone there on a better night than I did. Went there last year for my parents wedding aniversary & I couldn't get what I wanted to order, the staff weren't very nice & what I did get for a meal was pitiful & 2nd rate. If you go there I'll just be possibly turning up for a cruise sorry.
  23. Nice pics Andrew, would be better if there wasn't that ugly fella in the white shirt spoiling a few of the shots though . I am maybe going tomorrow myself, but haven't decided yet. Would be nice being a clipsal employee if we even got a chance to get any tickets, but once again the employees get shafted
  24. I tend to think along a different line to that..... Yeah I wasn't too concerned about fuel economy when I bought my 33, but why pay for fuel that isn't gaining you any performance & possibly even making the car slower? There is such a thing as too much fuel & I'm happy to have extra money left in my wallet at the end of each week while getting slightly better performance to what I used to. How about I change your O2 sensor for you for free & you pay me the amount you save on petrol each week . Weight & gearbox are always going to affect economy, but this just shows how small a difference it can be if things are maintained well.
  25. Will definantely check it out on my way home.
