  1. Hi, FIrstly....this is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ad.....MODS PLEASE NOTE....I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong section - couldnt find anywhere else....Please would you kindly move it if Ive dont the wrong thing ? OK....I am tossing up my clutch options for my 33 GTR. It currently has in it an HKS GD Pro Twin Plate - takes a bit of getting used to - Ive got the hang of it, but im thinking of trying to restore a tad of the 'stock' feel to the clutch... I believe this clutch has only done about 5000 k's - it was installed shortly before the car was sold to me, and I drive it like a grandpa ! LOL....I do have some paperwork that I can dig out to try n confirm its milage...cant quite remember off the top of my head. So, if anyone may be interested, and knows what it would be worth 2nd hand ? let me know.....Obviously i dont wanna pull the thing out for no reason so thats why im posting this - Planning ! Cheers Woza
  2. Thanks Mate, Not really sure what you mean....but Ill answer the obvious.....To get the engine bay all shiney & Blue....The rocker covers & injector caps were painted that same colour as the car (at the same time the car was painted). The engine bay was already painted from a previous build...although its not quite the same colour. That is a job I still need to do - Pull out the donk & strip the bay and get it re-painted same colour as the car. The rest of the shiney bits is really just time spent polishing pipes etc...VERY rewarding once done !
  3. Haha brilliant !...yeah i remember you - you were looking for original plastic items, not the fibreglass aftermarket ones !.....will be interesting to see if any other people will realise and post !...I hope the owner of the wreck find the post ! LOL
  4. Hey ! Back in 2008, I bought this white R33 GTST, with a view to using the Engine & Gearbox for my Datsun 260Z......I just thought it would be fun to show the before & after pics of the car, and then with the donk & box in the datto ! I was lucky enough to recover all the cash I s[pent buying the car, by selling the parts I didnt need...therefre the Engine & Box basically worked out free. It was a lot of work though ! If you were the one I bought the car from (or if you know him)...Let me know ! Woza !
  5. I have an RB25DET gerbox for sale.... A Mod shop went out of business when the owner died...the landlord was basically clearing ot the shop, and throwing all sorts of stuff in the bin !!!.....I grabbed this RB25DET gearbox, but didnt know its condition. I then got my mechanic mate to open her up for a quick inspction - I was expecting to be told it was cactus, however he said it looked in excellent condition, and appeared quite new - but that was only a visual inspection inside...nohing munched or broken. So, I am keen to sell it to help me fund my new project...but for piece of mind for anyprospective buyer, I am happy to hold on to your cash for 5 days untill you have time to fit and confirm all is ok..if not, then bring it back and Ill hand your cash back - no problem. Basically, I was going to pull my gearbox out of my Datto and road test it myself before selling it, however this is a much easier option for me. Price is $900 firm, with a FULL refund guarantee if its buggered, but Im pretty sure its good. If your gearbox is already out...then its worth a shot ! Woza
  6. Hey all... Ive got a REALLY good set of standard R33 GTR Wheels. Theyve got Tyes on them, and from memry are probab abut half worn. I would really like to keep these, but I have just bought another project car, so Ill sell hem if I can get what i want for them. I have doubts you'd fin a better set here in WA. Price is $1200 firm, and Im located in Mandurah I also have lots of electronic parts from 2xR33 GTST wrecks that I parted out....mostly sensors & stuff like that....If there is something you need, feel free to ask ! Cheers Woza
  7. Noice !....be wary....a mate applied to put an LS1 into his 240z and was knocked back...so do your reasarch. It varies state to state. I know a guy in Sydney whos doing an LS1 conversion in his Z, but hes also turning it into a Ferrari 250GTO replica.... Brakes & Suspension....visit www.arizonazcar.com you will have an organism ! Thanks for the comments :-)
  8. Hey All, I have my belovd R33 GTR V-Spec, but this is the project I've been recently working on. Not sure if this post is in the right spot/category.....if it isnt, please cana moderator move it for me.... I've had my 76 260Z for 20 years, and has been through 3 distinct phases & rebuilds. The first two were rather half hearted, and I was never satisfied for one reason or another. The car then sat in the shed on blocks for about 10 years due to lack of motivation and cash. This current build has taken about 3 years off and on. Out with all the stockie stuff which I was trying to hang on to to keep a degree of originality...but I figuree that once you cross that path, you may as well go the whole hog. I bought an R33 GT-T Doner car that someone had wrecked.....hopeing that the engine & box were ok !!!.....That was thye basis for my project - They were to be transplanted into the Z Car. Along with the Engine & Gearbox, Huge brakes were fitted to the front, including 6 pot Wilwoods & 12.2in vented disks. Rear drum brakes were also thrown over he shoulder for a similar Willwood 4 piston Disk setup, and I made up a custom handbrake to go with it. Fully adjustable coilovers Front & Rear were fitted, including Camber plates. The coilovers are teh type where you can adjust spring tension and height separately - one doesnt have to affect the other. Initially had a Greddy manifold to go on, but the angle of the Throttle Body meantthat there was no room for the intercooler pipework. So Rob at RIPS Racing in NZ made me up a custom manifold...came up a treat. I worked with PWR to get the design & fitment of the Radiator & intercooler right - They also supplied me with n oil cooler. The standard Tailshaft had to be modified obviously, so I got Veem to build me up a monster.....Standard half-shaft are also gone in favor of 300ZX CV joints. Diff is an R200 3.9 LSD Also fitted to the suspension are custom Billet everything ! Currently, with the 100% bog standard engine, its got 270HP at the wheels....a good start point, and as w ll know..the sky is the limit, but for now, Im happy with that untill other stuff is sorted. Engine is controlled by a Haltech ECU. Exhaust is a custom 3inch Stainless item... The pics attached are as it is today - Work still to be done includes....painting of engine bay, Big Wheels (18inch Simmons), Sound System and some other minor stuff.... Id appreciate any comments & suggestions you have.... Cheers Woza01
  9. I agree - those are the 2 pipes in question, however how do you know for sure that the one you have marked as flow, IS actually flow, and vice versa ?....Im not being argumentative, merely trying to satisfy myself in my own mind. If you are right, then what confuses me, is that the return pipe goes back to just behind the water pump, which is pumping water out at pressure - that water will want to go through that pipe that you have marked as a return.....
  10. Thanks heaps tukr32 - I appreciate your help ! Unfortunately, this doesnt offer any clues - I have this in my manual too. The arrows DONT indicate the direction of flow - they indicate the next section (diagram) and part number that connects to it....Bummer hey ! lol Cheers anyway ! Warren
  11. Hey ! I have just fitted an RB25DET Engine & Gearbox into my 1976 Datsun 260Z. I have also fitted an aftermarket Air-Con system because the standard 70's system just didnt measure up ! Anyway, I DESPERATELY need somone to help me identify which of the 2 hoses in the attached picture should go to the INLET side of the new heater core. I cant find anything in any of my manuals that tells me which is inlet and which is outlet..... I have an idea what is correct, however so as not to influence your ideas, i wont say what it is.....Please only reply is you KNOW FOR A FACT that your answer is correct - from past expereince, when you ask a question on forums, you get so many answers and end up even more confused !. Anyway, thanks for your help..... Woza !!
  12. My R33 V-Spec has a Blitz Spec-MU Exhaust on it, as well as HKS Dumps pipes and HKS Hi Flow Cat. Problem is, that at certain speeds, and certain Rev ranges, the 'drone' inside the car rattles my brain !...Its killing me !!!. Has anyone else experienced this at all ? I am looking at getting an HKS Silent Hi-Power Cat Back system, but i dont want to spend that sort of cash only to find the same thing..... ANY input would be appreciated....or ANY suggestions about exhaust combos and where to get it done here in Perth. Thanks All Woza
  13. Hi All, I hope someone can help me....please refer to the attached picture of my RB25DET engine (inlet manifold removed !)....This engine & Gearbox is now in a Datsun 260Z... I need to hook up the engines heater hoses to my cars Heater system, but I cant for the life of me find anywhere in my Skyline manuals that tell me which of the engines two hoses provide flow 'TO' the Heater core, and which one provides flow 'FROM' the heater core.... Can anybody help me on this please ?...... Thanks heaps Warren
  14. I am currently putting an aftermarket A/C system into my Datto 260Z, which Ive also just recently fitted and RB25DET Engine and gearbox into. The A/C System requires a NEW compressor or else the warranty will be voided. Problem is, I need the details of the standard compressor in order to buy a new one. Can anyone help me with compressor details ?..ie part number, manufacturer etc etc Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Warren
  15. Is anyone able to give me part numbers & brand etc of an AC Compessor from an R33 Skyline ?......I assume they are probably the same throughtout the 32, 33, 34 range but not sure. I need to know, because Im going to fit an Aftermarket AC system to my 260Z...its just had an RB25DET engine & gearbox conversion, so it makes sense to use a standard OEM equipment compressor if possible. The aftermarket system supplier has asked me to supply details of the compressor to confirm compatibiity with the their system. Any help would be appreciated. OH...Im also looking for a Dead compressor......i need to fit it to the motor so that the space isnt used up when all the pipework is fabricated..... Thanks all... Warren
  16. Yeah thats the problem with buying boxes....you never really know.......Im still not sure what the engine & box are like as I havent driven it yet...fingers crossed. Thx for the comments dude
  17. Hey Bubba.....he paid $100 for it....I got it for free LOL. No idea what condition its in though......the shafts turn with no horrible feel or sounds but Im gonna pay my gearbox dude $100 to separate the halves and make sure nothing is broken. Either way, it will be a good spare for my 260Z project (Rb25DET engine & box), or at the very least, I can rape it for spares ! Im stoked.....
  18. OK....so that essentially means that this is a box from a turbo R33....cheers Steve
  19. Yeah thought it looked like my RB25DET gearbox, however to be more sepecific, I was wondering if there is a difference between RB25DE gearboxes and RB25DET gearboxes....
  20. Hey All, I just picked up this Gearbox - its a bit of an unknown in terms of condition....they guy I got it from, bought it for $100 from some guy who was clearing out his shed, but said it was ok. Anyway, Im just wondering what box it is...Can anybody tell me how to properly identify it ?...or does anyone recognise what box it is ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers All Woza
  21. Hey dude, thanks heaps....yeah shes my pride and joy (aoong with my R33 GTR Vspec). Colour is a Honda Colour. Yep its a 260Z 2 Seater. There is a 4 seater version called a 260Z 2+2. They are more common, but rather quite ugly in my opinion ! Cheers for the link, I will investigate it further Woza !
  22. Hey all, I have just wrecked a 94 S1 GTS-T. I removed the complete heater & A/C Units from under the dash. I initially wrecked the car to salvage the RB25DET & Gearbox, to put into my oldschool Datsun 260Z (Pics Attached) As the original Datto fan & A/C are really pretty poor (pathetic actually !), I was wondering if anyone knew what would be involved electrically in fitting the salvaged Skyline A/C system etc into the old Datto (obviously there will be numerous challenges with the physical fitment, but i will deal with that !). Im no sparkie, so was just wondering what actually conrtrols the system....I know Id need the climate control unit, but does the engine ECU have anything to do with it at all ? Any help/ ideas etc etc would be very much appreciated ! Regards Warren
  23. Im a mechanic and have done this many times. Obviously, a Spigot bearing puller is the BEST way to go, but its not common to have one. What I do is similar to the methods mentioned above, but a lot less messy. Get yourself a punch, or rod that has a snug fit through the bearing. Instead of grease (as mentioned above), grab yourself a handfull of toilet paper (yes....you heard right). Tear bits off, wet it, push it in the hole, and use the punch to compress it. Continue doing this and the bearing will eventually pop out from the pressure that the bog roll is exerting from behind. As i said, I have used this method at least 50 time over the years, and it has NEVER failed me......
