  1. No - it's only 2WD
  2. Just wondering if anyone else is going, I hear the last one was good. A&B Motorsports 41 Winbourne Rd Brookvale 2100 www.aandbmotorsports.com Ph: 9905 9523 Starts at 9am and runs all day with a BBQ for lunch. Cost is $50, but you get a $50 voucher (to spend on anything in their shop (so essentially it's free).
  3. Great idea, I'm certainly interested. Where will they be held, ie what part of Sydney. Thanks
  4. I have an R34 GTT AFM (no idea if it's green label) I don't need.
  5. I've just spent 10K having CRD mod my R34 GTT. They were all extremely helpfull, knew their stuff, and had no problem answering all my questions over the phone (some of of them probably stupid ones) both before and after the job was completed. Jim did an excellent job of tuning the power FC, and I would not hesitate to use them again.
  6. Any photo's of the short shift kit. How old is it and how much use has it had. Thanks
  7. Thanks Mate, Makes sense.
  8. Yeah I've still got the stock radiator. How would replacing that affect oil temperature? Thanks
  9. Believe it or not Maguire's Metal Polish works well. It's what the HPI guys used on their Aristo project car.
  10. Yeah I tend to agree with you. I've used all high quality parts in my mods so far (including a trust intercooler) so why start using cheap parts now. Only thing I don't understand is what's a radiator mounted one (do Trust make them?). How do I ensure I get a kit that mounts the core in either of the side ducts? Thanks Paul
  11. Putting around town it probably runs about 90 - 95 degrees, but when I really put my foot down (for short periods of time) it runs higher. I never hammer it for to long as I don't want it to overheat.
  12. I got it from the factory guage (not sure of their accuracy, I've heard different opinions). On a cold day the oil temp runs at about 100 degrees, sometimes a little higher.
  13. The only way you'd stop it coming back is to have some sort of protective film re applied professionly. Don't know if this is possible or not.
  14. Yeah mine is definately on the outside, but as I say once that protective film is removed it's going to keep coming back. I just polish mine every 3 - 6 months and they look like new.
  15. You should be able to do this your self. Maguire’s all metal polish works well and they come up like new again. Just be aware they will need to be done regularly as it removes the protective film, but it's definately worth doing.
  16. Yeah I'm from Sydney, but I can't install it myself as I have a serious chronic back problem.
  17. I'm happy to spend $350 - $450. Only thing being if their universal, does that mean I'm up for extra labour costs. Thanks
  18. Hi Guys, As stated I need an oil cooler for my R34 GTT. It's recently modified and running close to max temp. during winter. This being the case I'm going to need an oil cooler before summer. I don't want to spend a shit load of money if I can avoid it, that being said I'm looking for a reasonably good quality unit. I don't see the need to purchase an expensive brand. I know there are a lot of cheaper ones out of china these days, but what's the quality like. Interested in any thoughts people may have. Thanks Paul
  19. And that included a quite expensive muffler.
  20. Brookvale Muffler & Mechanical Centre 24 Roger St Brookvale 2100 Ph: 9905 4379 They do good workmanship, are friendly, very reasonably priced, but can be a little unreliable (but who isn't). Nothing to much to worry about just a little unreliable with the time the work takes and pick up dates etc. I had them do a custom mild steel 3" turbo back exhaust with mandrel bends and good workmanship, and a pod filter with aluminium heat seal / box. The exhaust cost $955, but I supplied my own dump pipe and cat.
  21. Yeah your insurance is a bit high. I'm with Lumley Special Vehicles who are very reasonably priced, give you your own choice of repairer, and I've been very happy with their service. They also allow modifications When I had my accident (not my fault) they were happy for me to take it to my regular panel beater (no other quotes etc required) who is not cheap (but does a top job).
  22. I've been through some paper work, I paid 2K cash (ie didn't go through the books) to have roughly half the car resprayed. My guess is they would charge about 5K for a total respray in the same colour. You won't get a better job any where else. Also the small dents on the bonnet should pop out with one of those paintless dent removal guys which cost fark all, and they do a good job if you go to some decent. My panel beater could organise this. Only thing is I'm not sure if they deal with the NRMA, would need to check with them. Is this an import your talking about? If so how did you get insured with the NRMA?
  23. Yeah I agree 8K sounds a bit expensive for same colour. I had a nasty accident about three years ago, which required half the car to be resprayed, so the insurance payed for that and I payed for the other half. Not sure how much the total respray was but it was less than 8K. I took it to an absolute top notch panel beater (Mercedes specialist) who did an amazing repair and total respray. He's in Brookvale which is on the Northern Beaches, if you like I can send you some pics of my car and his details? Just let me know.
  24. What do you mean by "strict" dyno? I've heard their dyno gives high readings? Thanks
