  1. Been busy so sorry I'm behind what job? Grats on the job!
  2. Still 'estimates' from some guy.. "Direct comparisons are fraught as some projects are still in the planning stage, others were completed some time ago and the more costly projects have high tunnelling costs" nice disclaimer to kick off his analysis may as well have said this is an opinion piece with little to no proof of the cost estimate
  3. I googled and couldn't find a single credible source for $18 billion total cost plenty of estimates from all and sundry but not one direct reference to that amount as legit
  4. For what it's worth it was labor who back flipped on the last lot of road tolling after promising not too.. Spose they'd figure half a billion for nothin is cheap compared to a billion dollar desal plant that's never been turned on
  5. It's going to happen sooner or later labor has just wasted the money they need a road solution more trains doesn't mean squat for a majority of the population. I have stepped foot on public transport In decade and no amount of money or convenience could entice me back to it
  6. Where did 18billion come from?
  7. Labor governments are nothing if not consistent. Consistently bad that is
  8. So you don't consider it a complete waste of money?
  9. I stand corrected but just anecdotally heard private pays better but you would know better than I.
  10. Yeah don't disagree entirely birds and its a personal choice my personal experience is what will lead me toward catholic / private education I do think the good public schools which are limited are being confused with all public schools Heck two public schools here have a no homework policy wtf is that!?
  11. Yes but in my limited experience private & catholic teachers are better remunerated ?
  12. spot on
  13. If I ever need to choose a school for a child I'll be weighing my decision heavily on most likely circle of influence my experience was public school had a lot of plebs.. Catholic school more ambitious and successful comparing 10 years later. People won't agree but I want my kid hanging around kids with ambition desire to succeed from solid backgrounds etc Before anyone starts im aware that there is no guarantee but you can increase the probability
  14. Comprehension wasn't on your curriculum. They are most certainly not the same
  15. Religion is mandatory but certainly wasn't forced down any throats I think certainly more structure and better culture compared to the public school I went to first that place seemed more like a pathway to incarceration.
  16. Yeah mine was same if not slightly less back in the day
  17. A lot of assumptions given travel, computer, clothing depending what extra curricular activities etc And clearly they have to be referring to your scotch level of schools.
  18. Yeah funny thing is majority of our clients are from east as they are priced out and rather than being 40/50km east they come 20km west.. The stigma is slowly dieing. although it may be boring as birds points out its affordable, safe, clean and infinitely better value
  19. not even man exaggerating just a touch maybe at a stretch the elite of elite schools but literally hundreds of options that are way less than that. Even still comparatively to some eastern suburbs you'd come out ahead anyway.
  20. Cheers brah!
  21. Seabrook primary (public) was / is ranked top 5 in Victoria for a couple of subjects. Aside from that a number of schools here are well regarded and have better amenities. But perhaps the $500+ thousand you save on your house can cover a $200k private education
  22. It's alright depends what time your traveling but it's a trade off your getting double the property for your money but spending more time traveling but have better home quality of life & space etc. Last time I checked the radio the monash, eastern, ring road etc all sounded pretty shite @ peak hour..
  23. That newport off the plan place will be like 7-8 squares at best I bet and the altoba north one is ok value but a unit & needs work & is in a dodgy spot Wife just sold a knock down job In altona north for $701k!
