  1. i got a rb25/30 NEO in workshop atm geting build. Im using jun oil pump with hi-energy pro sump (8lt). Using t04z and tomie poncams 260. Aiming for 650rwhp. These were the biggest the NEO head can take beacuse of their desgin. They shouldnt be restrictive? I also have a wet nos kit and goal of 700rwhp once armed. Using argo rods aswell. I wouldnt use spool rods with 800rwhp

  3. im getting my rb30 block resin filled half way...aiming for 700rwhp but reliable at the same time.. I also had the crank nitried...although have since been told they come factory like that...oh wells cant be worse the standrd i guess.
  4. i had to decide which head to use for my rb30 build, NEO or rb26. I went with the neo mainly being that it hadn't been done bar one person i knew of at the time. Another deciding factor was that it had similar solid lifter desgin to a rb26. I have changed to aftermarket springs/retainers, GTR cams, guides, plenum etc... Its also had a port and polish. Currently still in the workshop so can not add anything more. Interesting to hear that it has larger exhaust valves. Can anyone confirm this? I also was told that it has titanium exhaust lifters instead of steel? Could mean the neo was not a bad choice after all.
  5. geting my rb30 block resin filled this week.. up to 1/2 way. Was suggested to be very good idea..since im aiming for big power/torque last thing is to have the block crack and have to strip everything down and start again.
  6. my head is about to get serviced soon. Im comtemplating weather i should polish/port/match ported etc. Its RB25/30 NEO, t04z, tomei 260, plenum, 6boost manifold. Aiming for 650wrhp @2bar. Anyone recommend what options are available?

  8. buying a mani and then having to strengthen and modify it duznt tell you something??? One workshop told me the very same mani destroying a new turbo. A piece of weld broke off from inside and got sucked up through the turbo.

  10. i got a set from performance springs for my neo head and using same cam specs aswell. From memory they can take up to 12mm lift. Main reason i upgraded them was to avoid valve float and constant high rpm.

  12. is it fair to compare a hypertune to the greddy intakes? Performance gains and desgin be similar? Hypertune are alot more expensive....is it worth the extra dough?
  13. ive got rb30 bottom with neo head. Extensive head porting etc and running t04z 1.0 a/r. I went for the tomei poncams 260 as these with the biggest that the neo head could accept. Any idea as to how my power curve is going to be? Im forever asking myself if i got the right cams to suit the turbo. Would i have gotten bigger cams if there where any? Its dyno/drag car with power goal of 700rwhp with alittle help from my friend, NOS...
  14. Could someone explain the process of nitrating for me? If all rb cranks come like that standard then why the heck they suggested it? Since the rb30 crank is fairly old, could it do with a re-doing? I was quoted 900 for nitrate alone and 2100 for bore, hone, grind etc. I also got my pistons ceramic coated. far easiler then trying to get oil squiters i was told.
  15. anyone had their crank nitrated? The shop rang me and asked if i wanted it done since the whole bottom end is getting blueprinted. Cost me $900 though! I want a tough realiable engine and am cutting no corners using argo rods, jun oil pump and ati balancer. Ive been told the block is weaker then rb26's. What can i do to strengthen it? Resin fill? Can someone shed some more light on this? cheers

  19. the pistons have been delivered and sent off to enginering along with rods crank etc. I mentoined that the head had smaller cc but i am no mechanic and want to interfer with their jobs. But there are other ways to bring down the comp ratio? Eg: head gasket size and decking of head and block? Also any particular reason why nissan designed the head to be smaller cc? disadvantages/advantages?
  20. im doing the same thing but with a NEO RB25DET. I would assume the cc on a turbo/na head would measure the same? The work shop is using CP pistons designed for the rb25/30 33 head. I wonder how they are going to get the desired comp ratio, being that its a smaller cc? And can anyone confirm if the neo exhaust valves are larger then the rb26?

  23. cool thanks for for input. Anyone have or known of other simliar setups pushing what kind of power levels? Was also told that nismo engine mounts wont do and that the engine will have to be chained down!
  24. rb25/30 NEO with all the fruit to match. Using t04z 1.00 a/r turbo and npc twin plate. Only time it will be pushing high boost is on the dyno. 99% of other time is sensible street driving on low psi. I want to push the turbo to the limits and see what the engine can achive. Hoping for 620rwhp. Is the box going to totally crap itself at this level? Many factors to account, but for argument sake, perfect condition box. What kind of power level are other people getting away with?
