  1. Well I have been having cold start issues lately, the thing just starts like a tracktor, see my other posts. I uses datalogit to see what is goignon, and i can't see anythign obvious, exceppt teh battery voltage dropping to 7.4V. I have seen 6.6 and 8.2 a couple of times. Can this attribute to starting issues. The funny things is that it only starts like a dog one, when cold, any other time after that, during the day, eaven in the afternnon, it will be fine. Basically if ECU temp sensor is below 20 Deg C it starts like a dog.
  2. well i have a gizzmo, and it's been far better then anything i have ever head. If you are running a stock turnbo a large free flowing exhaust and performance mods, the stock wastgate does not flow enough gas to bleed boost off. Stock turbos tend to get boost spikes. NOT in ALLL cases, but many just do. I have a Gizzmo IBC set to 8, 10, 12 and 14psi and it holds these well. The surging usually occurs when the car is starting to overboost and the IBC tries to cut it back a bit, this usually only occurs if you run a too high gain on it, but at 0 it should do it. I have recently ported my wastgate and man what a differance, the boost is dam steady now. All IBC will spike a bit, well rise a bit, in colder weather too, so you will have to readjust a bit later on. As to the surging, that is weird, i preatty much know the ins and outs of these things, as i wasn't happy with mine at first, unitll i figured out how to use it properly. Where are you getting your boost feed from for teh actuator, and where is the boost guage hooked up to. ALSO, what computer you are using. Stock computers will hunt down low on increased boost due to R&R
  3. spoted, and pulled over a Black R32 GTS4, running 2wd mode, up davie st. Pulled him over, the buga has some issues with missfire. The car had no font bar. No idea who it was.
  4. I got the high strenght ones form Burson, it was $14 for the main 12 studs, but the 40mm ones no one makes, they are a two thread stud. I went to Nuts and Bolts and got 4 studs to match the manifold thread, same both ends, and nuts to suit, and it was like $2. Nissan are the ony ones selling the 40mm ones at $10.90 each.

  6. you can't use S2 splitfires and an ignition module from a S1. S2 have inbuilt ignitors so make sure that has been taken care off. The S2 has a WHOLE heap of changes in sensors, i think i have a S1.5, a bit of both. The S2 cas is different to S2 and so forht. But aslong as the S2 block has all the S1 sensors, it should work fine.
  7. No skyline is easy to live with, they have their ups and down, issues and problems. At the end of the day, i got one because it is what i have always wanted. It's big, it's heavy, it's not the easies car to drive round town, it dosn't have a boot, it's loud, next to no torque, my clutch is to hard (my fault) it's hard to see out all the windows, blah blah balh. BUT all these probelms are overcome with a liberal use of the Right Foot, then it's all smiles.

  9. Yeah well mine sux, will try new battery and see how it goes from there. It's one of those stupid things, and seing as it can only be dignosed once a day, makes it nearly imposible to find.

  11. So having a shit batery voltage drop is A BAD THING, i presume this can couse a whole lot of problems with igition coil charge times and so froth?
  12. hay cubes, thanks, that is how i find leaks anyway, will have anothee look see tonight. I have an SAFC II and a remaped computer, so no go on the cold start enrithcment change, but I THINK i have nailed it down, when cranking my VOLTAGE drops to 7.1 volts, THAT IS BAD i pressume. I am goign to try another battery to see if that helps. From some of teh genericl RB25DET logs i have, the lowes cranking voltage i have seen is 9.6V.
  13. Hi all I have a strange whistle/Squeak at idle in my car. It is constant, and as soon as i blimp the throttle it disapears. Only occrs after the car has warmed up. I have all new gaskets and studs exhaust side. It is hard to see where the noise is coming from, and as you turn the car off, it dies down with the engine. No recently i cleaned my TB, and Cold start valve, and have since look at these again, but i cant find any issues with these. The engine hasn't lost Vaccuume, and still dirves fine. Is it possible that it is a whistle from the TB or something similar.

Quick question, do you have the deatils of the original owner of the software, that way i can transfer the software licence for the software to my name and get a free upgrade.

HI all, well I have had these ongoing Cold Start issues with My S1.5 R33 GTST. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=160180&hl= http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=157857&hl= Basically, when I go to start the car when it is below 18 Deg C, the car splatters, sounds like it’s a bit flooded, revs at 300 rpm, then coughs, splatters and is fine from there. I have done many things, and over the weekend what I did was to turn the fuel pump off, and pressurize the fuel system with air, to remove all fuel, you will be surprised to hear that the car will run for 2 minutes on the fuel in the fuel rail alone. So after ensuring that there was no fuel in the rail, or injectors, I was hoping to solve my problems of cold start, but figuring out that it’s a leaking fuel injector. WELL, I reconnected the hoses, primed the lines and the car still started like crap. So I figure it’s not the injectors, but can someone shed some light on if what I did could prove that it was not the injectors. ALSO I got Nissan Consult but i can't seam to upload the log file as a txt. All I can see is that the O2 sensor keeps saying rich when starting up cold, which seams weird. Can someone look over these files and see if there is something REALY obvious that is wrong. Please help me, I am going out of my head. ALSO, how much water/moisture, would I need in my engine to cause starting issues? One this i did notice badly, is that while cranking the voltage drops to below 8 Volts, 7.1 to be exact, i presume this is not good. If somone hads a means of analising the datascan logs, let me know i will send the log to them, i can't seam to upload the .log files. There is now also a squick in the car, like a vac leak, but it's not a vac leak, and as soon as i touch the throttle it disapears. I have checked for leaks, can't find any, could be a belt or something. HELP.
  16. well what i have doen since, is to remove all fuel from the fuel rail, by turning the pump off and pressurising it wil air, runnign teh engien untill all fuel was out of the system. There was nooo fuel at all, not a drop. This morning i connected it all up, including datalogit, and started the car, still went like a dog, the data didn't swop up anything funny, except at cranking the voltage droped to below 8V so not sure if that is BAD????? this happens for propably 400rpm till the voltage pics up, could this be it, couls this couse my cold starting problems.
  17. I don't have a thermostst and i live in Tassie, the car will take longer to heat up, but it WILL not and SHOULD not hunt. it's a load of BS.

  19. a turbo is a diferential pressure device, it needs a pressure differential between the inet and the outle, at idel, there is no load, the engine doesn't have to work, and there is no pressure differential for the turbo to work against.

  21. welcome to my boat, i have some funny signs to, but it's not a head gasket in my car. Go to a mechanic and do a gas analysis on teh rad water, that way it will pick up any signs og hudrocarbons and a blown head gasket.

  24. we got the cage bent, teh head is geting put back together, the new engine is being put back together, the electronics need to be sorgther, all the interior is geting fixed up. BUt the to do list is way to long. LOL.
  25. S2 ecus don't have the screw thing in them, nor the LED for error checking. Read the DIY, but that is no help, i have many other issues. LOL.
