  1. the stock exhaust note of a datsun 120 makes me goey in the forks....... not. i do love the sound of the carrera GT
  2. i'm pressuming this is on your r32? the answer is no. you could fit a wategate from a r33 which is only 5psi instead of 10psi, but you will lose a fair bit of power.
  3. paul you really are a dick. learn to read. Rochey: did you squash the top of the bov, or plug up the recirulation hose? either way you have stopped air from going the way it is supposed to so it is going back out the intake and being read twice, so the car is running rich. you have 2 options. 1 will defiantely work, the other may not. 1) return the setup back to standard. 2) put a new set of spark plugs in. i know people with aftermarket atmo bovs that have no issues with stalling. they put the bov on, it made it stall a bit, they put new plugs in and it went away. i even had the stalling issue on my stock bov when my plugs were shagged.
  4. you sure they didn't have engine conversions?
  5. if i was going to go in that direction i'd try and buy a written off 33 with a turbo motor in it. that way you have all the stuff you need for the conversion and can sell of the erst of the bits to get some money back. it will get up and boogie at low boost, but without lowering the compression you won't be able to run much above 5psi before it pings its arse off.
  6. and other shops might not have had any come in. where were u searching? just aussie sites? unless you rang a heap of nissan dealers and mechanics in japan how can you know.
  7. if that is the case then it isn't a high-flow, it is a whole new turbo. it obviously isn't using the stock housing, otherwise it would just bolt back up. i'm not aware of any other high-flows that use ball bearing other than the GCG. i know slide's are a bush bearing and it needs the hole in the banjo line drilled out to let more oil in.
  8. i'd say most of the engines that blow are do to abuse. just because it is under warranty doesn't mean shit. i know a guy that had 2 gen 3 motors replaced under warranty. he had a service done on the second motor then blew it 2 days later. holden got data off the ecu that said he had hit the limiter 13 times in 2 days, but the engine was still replaced under warranty, because if the engine can't handle reving to whatever the limiter is at the limiter should be lower. but you say you have seen 5 turbo motors blow since their release. so 5 blown motors in 4 or 5 years, thats not too bad. i'd say that probably goes a bit better than rb being known to stand for runs bearings. as for never seeing a rb with a hole in it, you musn't have seen any blown rb motors. i know its not quite an rb but i've seen an sr20 with a hole in number 1 and a hole in number 4, so ford isn't the only turbo manufacturer that has had blown motors.
  9. what a f**k-wit. all that power and no driving skill. maybe someone should tell him to try and turn the sterring wheel to try and catch the slide and keep his foot on the gas a bit to control it. or maybe someone should just flush his keys down the toilet, then they will be with his driving skills.
  10. pics of the road bike are up.
  11. bump
  12. i class it as 1 that you attach with bolts, rather than with say, glue or zip-ties. but seriously, i would class it as oil and water lines screwing straight in, even if the oil line has to have 1 of the fittings drilled out to let more oil through (e.g. a slide highflow). and most importantly that it bolts up to your manifold.
  13. a small gain yes. i noticed a little bit of a gain. as for an exact figure i'm not sure as i never put it on the dyno with this ecu.
  14. didn't have it on the dyno. just had a lend of a microtec wideband o2 sensor. at the same boost level it made a slightly noticable difference, but the fact that you can wind the boost up means you can boost up to where you would normally hit r&r and then really have some fun.
  15. new items added.
  16. i have a remapped ecu for sale. it will work in both series 1 and series 2 manual r33s (for those that think the series 2 have the ignitor built into the ecu, they don't). the person i bought it off had it in a series 1, and i had a series 2 motor in my car. i tested the AFRs at 11psi on standard turbo, fuel system, with just a turbo back exhaust, pod and fmic. at full throttle they from 12.5 from about 3000rpm and slowly drop to 12.0 by about 3700rpm untill about 5500rpm when they start to drop to 11.4 by redline. the ecu has had rich and retard removed, speed limiter removed and the rev limit raised to 7500rpm. i ran it in my 33 for about 8 months and never had any problems (on 14psi they go a lot harder than on 11psi despite what people say - most of them have never tried it and are only going off what other people have said). i never got to test the afr's at 14psi because the day i had a lend of a wideband o2 sensor the boost controller stuffed up and wouldn't let me go above 11psi. but when i pulled the spark plugs out after 6 months there was no sign of pinging or running lean at 14psi. i was going to combine this with a safc to get perfect 12.0 afrs but never got around to it and no longer own the car. asking $200 + $10 postage (or you can pick it up if you want). located in gympie, qld contact: marc 0401 217 840, or PM on here.
  17. r32 is probably going to be way cheaper to buy in the first place, so that means you have money left over to spend on go fast bits.
  18. wondering if anyone out there had ever driven a nissan march superturbo. i reakon they would be great fun. for those that don't know what they are, they are an early model of the nissan micra that has a 4 cylinder 930cc supercharged and turbo motor in them. they weighed about 770kg and had about 80kw.

  21. if it was a retired f1 driver they could. especially if they lived in london. he could be a full time employee... you have it as his job..... you people do know what a job is? just convert an evo to rwd. all you have to do is lock up the centre diff and remove the front drive shafts. thats how they setup the wrx drift car.
  22. thats the radiator not the cooler. it isn't intercooled. the supercharger runs like a drag cars. straight into the intake. by the looks of where the handlebars are, you would almost be leaning against the back of the blower when you ride it.
  23. the reason to rev it to 7500 is so that when you grab the next gear it is higher in the power range. and limiter smashing sounds cool.
