  1. Yeah i have been thinking of changing the oxy sensor. Might try this first. I ran my car on the dyno not long ago and the fuel/air ratio is up sh!t creek. The air fuel ratio jumps straight to 10 as soon as u floor it. I think this is why my car has poor performance and only managed 157rwkw even when running on 98pulp and having a 3" cat back exhaust system. The dyno people just told me that the ecu must have so crazy tune which is messing things up. I recently brought a Air fuel ratio gauge to fit to the car. so i will connect this up and see what response i get from the oxy sensor. Hopefully its just the oxy sensor thats screwed and i can change it and this might solve a few probs. Just a bit disappointing that my car has these few mods and performs like crap.
  2. Hmm bummer. why is that. Is the chip a single use only type. Well if this is the case i am unsure what to do with my ecu then because it currently runs very rich fuel mixtures and i was hoping maybe a re tune will fix the prob. Should i be looking at a piggy back type unit to modify the air flow signals etc to change the fuel mixture. I am also thinking of just buying a stock ecu and sticking that in the car. I also wish to get a fmic soon and thought that this ecu would be better to use than a stock one.
  3. Hey people has anyone had this ecu in their R33 before. My car has this one and I am trying to find someone or somewhere that can reprogram these types. Any input will be helpful.
  4. Thanks guys. yeah these ones are slightly different from the N1 pods i think. it's a bit different in the section that wraps around the rear bumper.
  5. No one gives a crap I see. oh well worth the try any way
  6. Pfft they are sh!t ne ways. First home for those where the bin after i ripped them to pieces that is. They are only like 30watts max each. plus mine had already started with the crackling and distorsion.
  7. lol. just do what ya feel dude. you will know when you are f'ing things up. I just rev it depending on how i feel. ie angry = fast hard, depressed = slow easy. haha prob not the best terminology. Mostly i am happy to drive normal (grandma pace) but every now and then i like some stick.
  8. Hey all. I am thinking about getting some rear pods like one ones in the picture on this link. http://www.newstylemotorsport.com/nissan/R33/R33_2.jpg What do ya think. I think they could work well. I am just wondering if anyone has some good ideas on pods that work with the factory rear bumper and side skirts.
  9. Hey all. i just have a quick question about diffs. I have been working on a gear box for my subaru and have just reassembled the gear box and dont know how to set up the diff. Its a 4wd gear box set up and you can adjust the front diffs position in the gear box case via these side bearing cups or seal cover things. Well i dont know if i am confusing people or not. But if u wish to make the crown of the diff push harder on the pinion or less you just wind these bearing cup things in or out. so when you wind one side bearing cup in and the other side one out this causes the diff to move one way or the other. The problem that i am having is do i just play with these adjustments untill the backlash in the gear box is gone. So when the slop in the diff is just taken up would this be where you need to have the crown gear. Or is there meant to be a small amount of play/slop in the diff for it to work properly. To me it would make sense to get the crown position just where the slop is gone. Any ideas any one. PS i know this is a skyline forum and i do have a skyline but need help with the daily driver.
  10. lol nice work guys. yeah i dont think i would be strong enough to try and take gear box out from under and put it back in. hard to manipulate it in tight spaces. yeah i knew what alot of sizes where on my car. mostly 10,12,14,17.
  11. Yeah its easier to take out gearbox with the engine than to f around with separating them in the car. Plus i am changing the gear box for another one that i had sitting around cos the current one is a bit f'ed. Yeah i did the whole thing myself and with a few beers lol. yeah had to remove front cv joints, tail shaft. I have removed the engine a few times in my paddock bomb so i had bit experience on this type of vehicle. would make life easier if i had a hoist. just used car stands and an engine crane. bit slower but does the job.
  12. Hey all. I just thought i might bore you all with what i did tonite. Needed to remove my engine and gear box from my 1982 subaru to replace clutch and gear box. I started the task after tea around 7pm and managed to have the gear box and motor out in only 4hrs. Well thats what i been doing. I know some of you will be like " thats slow as man" but i think its good. Ah well just thought i would share something.
  13. Yeah i recon its all about right place right time sorta thing. I don't drive crazy round town or where people are. My mates and i have a good place right away from town up in the bush. A good old dis used airstrip is the go right in the middle of a tree plantation area. Think it was used as a emergency fire fighting airstrip long time ago. If we feel like some fun we just go there with no people around. I hope to make it to the racetrack soon tho. just saving up for a tandem trailer and a ute to pull it. then it will be the racetrack for me.
  14. Hey thanks for the feed back be it good or bad. Here is a recent picture of where they are at with my car. It has been at the panel beaters for 3 wks nearly. They have been a bit snowed under so work on it has been a bit slow as i was last in line i think. Dam it sux at the moment. haven't been able to drive it for ages. I have to use my old N/A subaru wagon now. I am just hoping that it keeps running for me till i get the liner back. I will post pics and updates on how my car progresses for those that are interested.
  15. Man Valentines day is the biggest marketing scam ever.
  16. Yeah I just need more persuasion as to which colour to go. Black with a metalic will be sweet but maybe i should look to pearls. I sorta want the car to still look black tho.

    Car Washes

Yeah sux a$$ man. I have been on holidays for few months and decided to fix up all those small things on my car just to make it look 100%. then just last month someone ran into me and smashed it up good on me. Makes you wonder why you even bother sometimes.

    Car Washes

Ouch. yeah i dont think i will ever use something like that. Also I have heard bad things about those car was booths with the brush n stuff. Fags like to put nails in them to f peoples cars up and the guys wit 4WD's tend to use them and fill them with gravel. Unfortunately I am now on water restrictions here and can't use my pressure cleaner any more. have to take all my crap down to car wash and use their machines. Rain Damit!!!!!
  19. Hi all. I will be getting my car resprayed soon and I have been offered the choice of a metalic or pearl paint. My skyline is currently just factory black but the panel shop says that they can redo it with a metalic in the black or some pearl if I want at no extra cost as its an insurance job. Has any one got some pics of some sweet black metalic or black with pearl paint jobs that they can show me. I just need some ideas on what way to go and which has the biggest wow factor. Or I could prob just leave it factory black.
  20. Hey I have heard of a band aid solution to fix diff whine. Someone told me once that if you put a bit of saw dust in the diff, that this will take up that bit of slop and reduce the whine. Ah i don't recommend this and I have no idea what permanent damage it will cause. If I had a spare diff that I could waste I might try this just to see what happens. Good luck with your repairs.
  21. I scored some like that for like $40 new off ebay. I think i was luck tho cos i seen them on there all the time and the prices seem to be round that $80 mark.
  22. Lucky man. Could have ended up badly. I remember when i had some knocking in my car from the wheel area. We jacked up the car and turned out that who ever last took the wheel off didn't do it up tight and i could just undo all the wheel nuts by finger. The whole thing was just slapping around. Fagged the rim too by being loose. I like to alway check the work done to my car after someone has been playing with it.
  23. Building and flying R/C Aeroplanes Ridding Motorbikes Drinking Drinking Pulling stuff apart and trying to put it back together again Shooting Trying to play instruments Meh i will think of some more later.
  24. Dam just got one quote in today. They say it will be bout $9,339 for repairs from one place. I think these dudes are a bit dodgy cos they have listed stuff that doesn't really need to be replaced. I found a guy that some people recommended to me and he seems to be good. He will be cheaper I hope. He says that he will do a metalic or peal to my car if i want for little extra. What pearl or metalic looks good with black. what do people recommend i have a look at.
  25. Thanks for the feed back. Just though it would be good to tape what these police on a power trip say so that I can show others as proof. I had one officer stop me a start with the attitude as soon as i got outta the car. I never even said anything yet. I think i will tell them i am recording and see how they change their tune. Its not too bad in the country but as soon as i go to melbourne i get hassled for no reason.
