  1. this is a reply to the first post. vn coil pack fire both sparks together. on a vn it will be matched to one cylender that is on its power stroke and one cylender that is on its exhaust stroke to burn any unburnt fuel. it all helps with emissions. so you need to make sure yours is firing on the exhaust and power stroke of matching cylenders. i know this has been said before but this realy is a crap way to go about fixing spark problems. firstly you get a break down of spark by having high tensile leads. coil packs are right on the spark plug. having the coils mounted on the firewall is going to induce more heat than the coil packs would get. nissan designed coil packs to sit where they do and they didnt expect someone to9 mod their engine 17years later and expect them to hold up to it. the coil packs are mounted at the front of a vn commo so they get cooling from the rad fan. oh i am sure you know anyway. just get some spitfires. slide and croyden are in a bidding war at the moment at having the cheapest spitfires in aus. you could get a set for $500. that cheap. just do that.
  2. hi all i thought id start a new thread to try to get some organisation ready for this weekend so it all doesnt fall in a pile. can everyone who intends on coming sunday please post your name and where you are coming from so we know who to wait for and where. as far as i know there is a fair group of people coming from launi keen to run the reverse targa stages. launni people are meeting at the metro bus sheds bottom of the outlet at 9:30am please be early as we will be departing at 9:45am sharp and you may have to use high boost to catch us. GMBs plans were to meet at cambeltown at 10:30am but the northern guys may be a tad late if we dont get off on time. any north west people are welcome to meet us in town but it may be quicker if you want to meet at perth. launni people should be passing through there a bit before 10:00am any southern people can stick to GMBs plan of meeting at Elwick Road turn off at 8:45 then head north to cambeltown. i sagest that we all meet in a park on the east side of cambeltown on the south side of the river. anyone that went on the NS.com cruise will know where. i think we should have a bit of a meet and greet there and then head to the east coast where we can then get some fish and chips from some of the local stores, maybe. once on the east coast and full of food the northern guys can head reverse targa and the southern guys can head back down south via GMBs planed rute. hope to see you all there. damo
  3. thats bad luck GMB. well hopefully it will run smoothly enough.

  7. i realy need to sell some of these wheels. throw me an offer or 2?
  8. thoes vids are tops mate you must be happy with the car now. id love to come and drive on lala. i am taking my car to sa early next year to visit family and id love to go for a run on there but id be a bit conserned about breaking somthing.
  9. yes the lower limmiter was a bit gay but it has another problem thoe. (on the limmiter that is) yea i had a top day but i wont be running at the next day as i a) have another racing event on and b) need to sort some new suspension out. its nice that people have said i done well as i wasnt realy told by anyone elce on the day. i will endevor to be at the final round thoe and maybe the lead up practice day funds pending.
  10. are you comming wogs?
  11. hey salad i like both sets of rims but i realy cant justify spending that much on just rims when i could get a new turbo or somthing. my car already doesnt look the part but i just cant do it. i will add that i would love to thoe. i ran m car at a practice drift day on the weekend. i was trying to get my engine in on time for this event. it was a good day for me once i sorted a few issues. i was the first car on the t=rack and the last car off and i was happy that i had no over heating problems or anything like that for the day. top fun. the rb25 felt strong but it has a limiter problem which i will adress with a new aftermarket ecu. the day sertanly showed up the flaws in my springs and shocks so i have already sourced some coilovers for the rear and some bilstines for the front to test out and ill go from there. i will also be instaling a race seat and harnes as i had a back ache after the event from being flung around the car so much. ive been waiting for some decent pics to emerge but i am sill waiting so if i get one i will post it up.
  12. that pic looks tuff. so what mods are you running to get the 200 at the wheels? and what brand tyres are you running to produce all that smoke as i belive it is mainly to do with tyre choice as far as smoke goes? maybe? too bad about the acedent as you have only recently painted it.
  13. i helped prep and paint a cage recently and its not a fun job at all.
  14. tassy mate. sorry for not putting that up there. i pinched the rb20 actuator off my old turbo. ive seen rb20 actuators go for around $50 but i dont think people like to seperate them from turbos anymore. i will also update first post.
  15. r33 powersteering pump and bracket to bolt to block. in GC, came off 100k engine. it will fit onto an rb20 if you want to remove all hicas back to a single vein pump to just run the power stering. i thought about this myself but it would need one minor pipeing modification and i realy didnt have time. $50 r33 air con compressor. came off the same engine. unknown condition. $30 r33 alternator. came off the same engine as above. $40 as is or $80 with a full reco new bearings brushes ect. r33 boost solenoid. standard boost solenoid. wasnt needed as i am running an rb20 turbo actuator. perfect for one of the jaycar electronic boost kits as they dont come with an electronic solenoid. sydney kid recomended using these with the jacar ebc i am fairly sure. $60 aluminium side mount seat rails to suit r32 gtr or gtst. perfect bolt in. light weight. they suit a sparco pro 2000 seat perfect. i have had it in my car but it need some more adjustment area for my long legs. would suit any drivers under 6 foot. because of the design of them it would be hard to make a further back adjustment. light weight. $100 r32 front bar factory fog lights. they are still in the front bar if anyone wants that but i doubt anyone will want to pay freight. they are in top condition and i would put them on if they would clear the cooler piping. if you have some already you never know when they might get broken. the bar itself is not a a type-m. $50 each or $80 for the pair. a few more bits to add soon. please post here or contact me via pm for more info. all parts located in tassy
  16. yea thats a top idea. nismo kid and his brother and i are meeting up to head down so we all should. so are you still leading this GMB. are all the plans still the same or are you unable to make it. id like to know if it is all 100% organised so it doesnt all fall in a pile like a lot of cruses ive been on. thanks damo
  17. just some quick pics. ive got some new rims. on the front. they are work rims. tuff jap style but they are only 16s and need a respray. im going to sandblast the centres. paint them black and keep the polished lip. ill get some better pics of the wheels later. also a pic of the black GTR cooler. it looks very sligh behind the silver bar. oh and i found another problem tonight while test driving. so late tommorow night will be a bit of a tuning execise.
  18. yep i am thinking that i might enter the final round. well its been a while since i have driven a manual 32 with rb20 equipped so it is hard to tell. (the last manual 32 i drove was a mates 25 equipped one which had 200+ at the wheels) but it feels torque enough. should be fun with a bit more boost and alike. i think the next thing is an aftermarket ecu for me. as it is rich as buggery. tandems will be sweet. ill even have to consider painting my car red to match (if i and tandems are any good)
  19. ill be there i reccon.
  20. ok well its all in and runnign smooth. and all with in my 4 weeks time line. most of the work has happened over the past 3 days thoe. so a list of stuff done was. remove old engine and box. put peddal box in. clean up engine bay abit with degreser and stuff. put ne bosch 040 pump in. get new engine get new clutch (slide excedy item) get flywheel machined stuff around with new engine. i changed alternator brackets and the power stering bracket and pump over. left the air con one as they are the same. changed engine mounts. changed turbo actuator to the rb20 item. put engine in. ordered intercooler piping kit to plum up gtr cooler core. pulled engine out and put clutch and flywheel back in. put engine back in. plumbed up cooler and new fuel lines. made braided clutch line blead clutch then changed slave cylender shaft as the old one was about 20mm to short. put redline gbox oil in put motul oil in. test fitted short shifter. got it stuck in the gbox. couldnt get it out so i had to pull the gearbox out and pull it apart to get the shifter out. put gbox back in and put short shifter in properly. put moddified tail shaft in. comprises of r33 front half with r32 center bearing and r32 rear half. r32 auto tail shaft is not long enough. put standard rear sway bar on after fitting a whiteline item which my exhaust wouldnt clear stuffed around with the ecu as the wiring i used off this site didnt work out right for me. i will address that problem later. so after te past 3 days of stress waiting for parts to arive and fit properly i got to take it for its first run. it fealt pretty strong untill it got to hot and the spark started to break down so back home to swap my rb20 coils over. good old girl still never lets me down. with a fresh set of coils and a few rattles fixed it was off for a few more test drives which went very well. so all should be good for this weekends drift day. i will endevor to throw a few pics up of the finished product soon. thanks to every one that has given me any advice so far.
  21. ^^^ i like that now i need a wing. im not sure how you will go getting the wing to fir quite right as the sedan boot is a bit narrower. i put a type m spoiler on mine and it kinda hung out over the sides. thats pretty shit news about the turbo. so no one wants to take the blame? what camber settings are you running now? you will be able to enter autosalon as a one off 4 door GTR.
  22. no pics as of yet ive been to bissy trying to get the dam thing in and going but atleast now i can say it starts and runs well. just a few bits to finish off now.
  23. hmm nice work i take it you only have basic mods then? i got my 25 started today but have had a few minor set backs tonight.
  24. are you comming up this weekend stu. looks like my car will be ready to go by saturday. would be ready to go now if the trail shaft was finshed when they said it would be. mmmm the sweet sound of a fresh 2.5L
  25. just thouth id add up a r32 rear sway bar with link kit to suit either GTR or GTSt. i think its around 26mm and it is adjustable. i brought it about 6 months ago then realised it needed the link kit so i ordered the link kit then when i went to put it on today i found it wont clear my exhaust because i have twin pipes fron the cat back. so it is a issue over a height not the with and should fit over even a 3.5" pipe. the bar was seccond hand when i brought it but hs seen minimal use. looks like new. looking for $200 but open to offers.
