Ahh my bad. In that case... Who really cares about a few spelling mistakes on an internet forum - and to forget a S on the end of breaks is more a typo then a spelling mistake, or a gramatical error. Again, its an internet forum, were here for the most part to have a casual chat, its *not* the Australian High Court and *noone is going to die* if I miss an s on the end of breaks. I didnt really think anyone would be that pedantic about it...

Theres a mountain run on on friday night, check the events section for more detail. Were having a fair turnout, about 15 - 20 cars. You should come along.
-
Shane, just how far away from being driveable is your car anyway?
-
Dave, I was kidding... I just sunk a heap of cash into upgrading my own breaks, and im running a bog stock engine, remember?
-
breaks arent important when building a fast car daveo, dont you know that? Mike you were going to buy the MX5 from the word go with this thread. The majority vote was for a 32 GTR, yet you completly discarded this and went with the MX5 anyway. Im not saying dont buy what you want and im not saying follow the trend or popular oppinion, but why ask for it when you dont particually care what everyone says? Or was it just to see if your MX5 idea was popular? In any case, you will need much better breaks then the stock MX5 ones, and forgies and B6T rods from the outset, otherwise this project will just end in tears.
-
Apparently some 32 GTR's are exempt from the ADR regulations on these things due to there age... worth investigating.
-
I added you but I gota go get ready for workies now kbai
-
hey shane whats ur MSN man?
-
Bear in mind that the GTR is mostly a RWD car.

I have access to the barracks, but im surprised you dont have an offical relationship with them??

Updated with the final plan. Exact Timings: Northside Meetup - 6:30 at Bunnings on stafford road, same place as last time - leave 7:00 SHARP - if you miss it head to the southside meetup Southside Meetup - 7:00, enter lone star at 7:15 Depart springwood Lone Star at aprox 9:00 - head up highway to Mt Tambourine, arrive at bottom of mountain at aprox 9:30 - 9:45 Come off mountain at aprox 11:30, Finish up in surfers at around 12. Head back down the highway then to bed/whatever. I will book extra spots in the dinner just incase we have some last minuit joiners too.

Id put forgies and rods in it from the outset, otherwise it will be shaking them before you know what your doing at 12 PSI on the standard (High Comp) pistons. Will make for quite a mountain weapon however, this is true.

and another wise man said: Do not let thou judge, unless thou art read to be judget thyself. But I will admit, failure to indicate is just silly...

Bored... saw a porche f**k its engine tonight, being driven by a old woman with a toddeler... She was gunning it hard!
-
Roffles just remembered this... on the way down the mountain tonight heading into the coast, this porsche and volvo are being absolute wankers... nearly ran john off the road when he had to merge when his lane ended (gunned it up from behind john to try to get between us as the lanes merged into one, johno guned it back and beat him too it) Anyway I decided to pull us over and let these two go past... Anyway they pull up at the lights and were behind them, me behind the porsche. The driver of the porsche gave it some good stick (and I must admit I flattened it too to keep up) as the lights went green and it started blowing smoke EVERYWHERE! Not just small amounts of smoke either, not blowby or overfuling, huge no-shit clouds of smoke that started to impare my and shanes vission... did a good job of waxing up the front of my car too. So I get next to the thing and tell it to pull over, turn it off, somethings f**ked and its pissing huge billows of oil smoke everywhere. This is when I notice theres an old woman driving it with her son in the back. Considering the way it was being driven just prior to all this, I found this quite surprising. Anyway me and johno park, me and shane leg it back (johno parked closer, I had to go further down the road) and the volvo has pulled over too. The volvo owner is a older dude, looks like the husband, and hes just saying its burning off excess oil. My ass, itd been with us for a good 10 mins by that stage and it hadnt blown so much as a whiff, then as soon as she launched it bang, smoke city, it even blew heaps while it was idleing. All he wanted to do was just get out of dodge however... it was really strange. Also, why the old woman driving the porsche with the toddeler son in the back and the husband in the shitty volvo? and Why was the old woman driving it so hard? They seemed almost desperate to get away. Id say stolen if it wasnt for the toddeler? Anyway it was quite a laugh to watch this happen after they allmost ran johno off the road. The porche had death-rattles bad as it drove away.

Yes Midol, but the other side of the story is if we all posted when we saw someone doing something stupid the forums would be full of these posts, and for 99.9999999 percent of us, its hipocracy, have you EVER EVER EVER broken the speed limit when having a spirited drive? Prehaps while you were doing it up a mountain? On a deserted road? I suspect you have, as has everyone else on this forum, the owner of this thread included. The truth of the matter is we buy these cars because there fast and we want to go fast. We all think were good drivers and I guarantee to you said dickhead thinks he was a good/skillful driver too. I also guarantee to you that next time your driving your skyline and you give it a bit of a squirt (even if you dont break the law), there will be someone, somewhere who thinks your being a dickhead. Another truth is that most preformance drivers go through there lives without killing a family of 4 plus the dog and cat in the back. So next time someone posts a thread all unto itself about "I saw a dickhead on the roads doing this" then prehaps they should step back and go, wait, have I ever ducked and weaved through traffic? Have I ever broken the speed limit? Given it stick through twisties? Encouraged others to do the same? and if the answer to all thoes questions and others like it is no, then they can post the thread. But the problem with that is, if the answer to all of them is no, then they wouldnt be here, on a preformance car website, theyd be on the today tonight or someshit forums. Keep stuff like this to whoretown where it belongs. /end rant.

Roffles I know guys in the army who skiped school at grade 8... Dumb as a rock but strong as an ox, they do there job rather well.... In any case, going GRES before you transfer/while you consider joining as ARA is actually not a bad way to go... Kind of gives you a good taste of the army lifestyle, and if you do decide to join up full time down the track its just a simple service transfer as opposed to going through the whole f**king rigamarole of DFR (dont get me started on thoes useless bastards...) Also good for keeping you fit!

I made 3000 dollars in 6 and a half weeks when I was at kapooka after I joined the reserves... I was only 17 at the time, it was quite good money, cash in the pocket and tax free, no need to declare it to johny. I also got about a grand worth of free gear, boots, pack, webbing etc and learnt a few things while I was down there to boot...

Since posting this I have installed a Attessa Hand controller/computer in my car. Its a nifty little unit that intercepts the signals from the G sensors, determines whats going on and sends out a fake signal to the attessa computer to get more or less FWD based on the conditions. As it only really uses the lateral sensor, you still get all your standard AWD for launching the car, traction control etc... Has completly changed the feel of the car. I put it in as my first drivetrain mod, then put in coilovers and new breaks. The car now turns like a rex on steroids, and I can plant it in second right before the apex of a corner and come out without loosing any traction at all, and having the front wheels pull me through the corner. info on it can be found in this thread, including photos of it installed in my car: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=126694 Other users testimonies: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=134113 Other devices made by ruzie engineering, including his AWD controller: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=147560 The device cost me about 650 all told, and it was installed by one of pauls friends who did a very tidy job.
