  5. Wrong. Engineers will approve anything they believe is safe, and conforms with the ADR's. Talk to an Engineer before you listen to them. In the end, all they care about is the track, and whether you pro-trude the guards, if you're ok on both those, you're fine.
  6. Visit an Engineer and be done with it. Like i did (almost exactly the same problems).
  7. I <3 Beagles. I miss my old set (left them with the ex-girlfriend )
  8. You Have Beagles? pics. please.
  9. I'm of two minds about this. High-School kids should know better. If you haven't learned how to cross a road by the age of 13 or so then Road education has well and truly failed. In regards to pre-schools and primary schools, then yes, i feel that times should be similar to NSW where you only have the zones enforced during the times they are entering and leaving schools - Except in the case where they are spread over 2 sites, and students have to cross the road during the day. This all day Bullshit annoys the crap out of me - particularly for high schools. As far as fines for the younger kids - nail them for 3-6 points and ~500+
  10. Just because they are at fault doesn't mean you will be out of the woods. Dickson is useless. My Advice, move to queanbeyan - at least in NSW they are consistently useless.
  11. Sounds alot like me, only i still had Vic rego on it. Get an ID, then get a RWC - stop listening to them, it will only make your head hurt. They don't even know the rules, if you can research them yourself, you'll be better off.
  12. i concur with the above statement. I'm honestly not even sure what they are trying to do. The amount of grief i had over the fact that my engineer wrote "remote boost controller" on my certificate, was stupid. How is a remote boost controller going to endanger my life or the general road populus (vs say a bleed valve or just having it at a higher level anyway)? I'm all for having unsafe cars off the road, and ones that are overly unnecessarily polluting our environment - but the level of analism they go to is retarded. f**k Dickson and f**k the old bastard who has some long-withstanding vendetta against engineers. I asked repeatedly why certain things were a problem, one of them proceded to tell me (regarding the boost controller) i could dialup 4 or 5, when they start at 1, making more horsepower - which has what to do with anything? Nevermind the fact that my turbo wouldn't flow it, so its irrelevant anyway.
  13. interstates. if it wasn't immeadiately previously registered within the ACT (i.e does it currently have ACT plates) you must go over at dickson.
  14. I was talking to someone at lennock a while ago as i bought my $260 oil pressure sender. f**k nissan genuine. at least sourced in Australia anywho.
  15. nope. According to the Inspection report - the car is a 98. The end apparently. And Leshy - as said in the previous thread - the rules have changed, you must go to dickson to get your car ACT Registered the first time now - no if's but's or maybe's.
  16. between my engineer and the Chief Technical Officer at Dickson having a little war - with my R33 in the middle - Dickson's anal retentiveness and the sheer cost of things
  17. After almost 6 weeks, my car is registered in ACT. /relief.
  18. i have this wow disease too.
  19. i like the 3rd set. wouldn't trade my Emotion CR's tho
  20. How heavy is your right foot? How often to you check tyre pressures and how often do you get your wheels rotated/aligned?
  21. just a quick update. The rears are awesome. Incredible amounts of grip, whilst i only have 194rwkw, i'm not breaking traction when boost comes on now. I'm still playing with how to launch the car, particularly with boost in mind, i have launched at ~2800rpm, but that is still just under boost coming fully on.
  22. that would be because they are track tyres unbelievable grip tho. Simply amazing tyres.
  23. Hey guys, I had my R33 in for a suspension lookup today, and i've found that the lower control arm on the front left is actually slightly bent. Nothing huge, but enough to play a bit with camber settings etc (as in restrict movement). Looking for a straight one. Anyone?
  24. Honestly it depends on the tyre. If you go from say nankings or hankook k104's or nexens, to say High end dunlop, yoko, goodyear stuff - irregardless of size, you will notice a world of difference, assuming you have it properly aligned. The New Dunlop SP Sport Maxx's i have on my rears are unbelievable for traction even though they are barely scrubbed in. Even over the K104's i had before they started doing scrubbing problems.
  25. Hey Gary, Just had my rear tyres done by Marc Watkins here in Belconnen Canberra. Amongst other things, he noted that my rear end bushes are all shagged, and i need a complete set for the rear end of my R33 Series 1 GTS-T. I have a couple of other things to run by you, so i'll pop them in a pm. How much am i looking at? just the KCA347? or should i grab a KCA349 whilst i'm there? Cheers,
