  1. i wish it was so sometimes
  2. i forbid you lot from seeing me at the moment, My boost isn't boosting like it should be. ahh well. i'll get it sorted sooner or later. At least i can drive it and its not a goddamned bus.
  3. Think of it as if all of a sudden you couldn't get the throttle more than half-open. I still get to 7k rpm (i change between 6.7-6.9 when driving hard), but the feeling just isn't there. Thats the feeling of loss. sidenote - why the f**k would someone weld shit in your exhaust? noise? Thanks for all the replies, i'll get them to check the vacuum hoses, and the timing on Wednesday.
  4. forgive me, explain surging? The car simply Plataeu's in performance (it has a very stockish feel to it - not that i ever drove one, to break traction off the line, you have to dump it at 4-5k, rather than simply just plant your foot in first) at around 3-4000rpm. doesn't feel like its being starved (i've driven cars where the fuel pump isn't up to the job, doesn't feel anything like that) - Boost hits 5 on the Dash (0.6 on the AVCR) and simply just hard lines there. If i can have stuff to take to them on wednesday when i settle the account, hopefully its just something quick. I thought timing would be all electronic? i didn't give them the PFC hand controller, nor do they have the equipment otherwise.
  5. Is this in regards to the Boost Controller? I have an Apexi AVCR. Now its maxing at about 0.6 kg/cm2 which i think roughly works out at 7psi (or stock), the AVCR is still reading what the boost is (i assume), is it possible that its not doing its thing with the wastegate (forgive me, i'm not sure exactly how it works). what would i look for to see that this isn't the problem? I've chatted with Marc this morning, but unfortunately didn't grab my PFC Hand Controller (~5 hours sleep last night, late shifts) to check anything there - But the guys who worked on it, mentioned that Vacuum Hoses hooked back up and that the Gaskets fit very flush (both Marc and the mechanic were surprised about this). I reiterate that the car isn't misfiring, and in general power delivery is smooth, just not anywhere near as oomphy as it was. Thanks for the help so far,
  6. Hey guys, I just had an 80,000km service done on the line, as well as having the exhaust manifold gasket done and the car feels like its lost a lot of power, throughout the whole rev range.. I have it running on 0.80 Bar (i think thats what the AVCR measures in), however it simply will not push over 0.61 since the service. The car is also extremely quiet, exhaust note wise - however i put that down to me being used to the mild exhaust leak, although it might be quieter than when i bought it. Service guide followed was the 80,000km one listed in the Gen Maintenance forum Iridium plugs -> NGK Platinum Castrol Edge oil still. Turbo Gasket, Exhaust Manifold gasket + 3 studs. I have a PFC, which i put the hand controller in tomorrow, what things should i be looking for (besides knock). Would the 80k service include removing any advance (forgive me if this is electronic, i'm used to old holdens) that may have been set by guys who originally tuned it (ice down in melbourne)? The workshop did a great job, but they don't specialise skylines so i'm trying to give them a heads up if anything thats a quick fix, or risky. Cheers,
  7. Pretty much everyone i know who has scored themselves the group buy suspension kit has turned around and said "wow, thats awesome". So like get the package deal
  8. FAIL.
  9. So like can we stop flaming and have more pics from the Summernats now? specifically these so called JB Hifi girls? oh and any nice cars that happened to be there?
  10. i had 12 hours at work (well not really, if you include travel time and when i got up, then its 12 hours - stupid buses) - and i'm still playin' with people
  11. thats a bit forward.
  12. You said the motoring equivalent to "HEY GUYS, CAN YOU HELP ME BUILD MY OWN METH LAB? I'M NEW IN TOWN AND NEED TO START UP THE BUSINESS AGAIN" Even ACTUAL street racers would have backhanded you over this. Regardless of any fact that you could possibly actually drive - you have waaay too much stereo equipment (which, btw is crap - Sony blow goats right now) screwing up your weight distribution of the car for us to take seriously. Street Racing is quite possibly the most retarded thing out there, and i can't wait till you get caught. 13. might i suggest http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85591 SydneyKid - one of the biggest reasons why SAU is as good as it is.
  14. spotted. My Baby still in the shop at Marc2's. I'm starting to suffer withdrawals - and Cab fares are REALLY starting to bite, retard buses (depending on the time of day, i can get to work/home via bus in 40 minutes or 1 hour 30mins). I probably should have seen to my exhaust leak a little sooner, but the christmas period was hell and getting a car in for that kind of thing just wasn't going to happen a week and a half before christmas. Massive props again to Marc2 and his crew at Belconnen Discount Tyres for being straight up and honest with the car as well.
  15. Best solution to fouled plugs in my experience has always been Find a dirty dirty big hill, and fly up it in 3rd and 4th gear. Really Really Heavy Load and prolonged shot of it. Cleans plugs up marvelously *assuming you have decent fuel in there to burn. Optimax has ALWAYS been known (in my experience anyway) to run a bit rich and leave a bit of black stuff on the plugs (a lot of this comes from driving a Worked Holden 308 L34 Torana, some from a 202 GTR-XU1 - haven't really checked plugs in the Skyline, as i now pay someone to do that ). BP Ultimate has been the fuel of choice for me, mostly because its so widely available, and arguably the benchmark in fuel for performance vehicles. However there has been a few threads on the subject of Optimax Extreme (and V-Power) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=optimax http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=optimax http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=optimax http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=optimax From what i can gather, it reather doesn't matter all that much what you use (98 RON and above wise), most of the benefit is from having your ECU tuned for it.
  16. Sadly this is happening to a lot of people (myself included). Somewhere along the lines Blizzard has probably changed the code they use to render things and it seems to be pushing a whole bunch of older cards over the edge and they are flaking out. When it gets real bad, they will actually lock up and bluescreen/restart. Sadly - the only way known of fixing it is to buy a new gfx card. P.S if, like me, you only get it in certain areas, then you aren't safe - First 2 zones in BC suffer much much harder that most areas in non-expansion, and crash me out in minutes. If you want to play BC, you will have to grab a new card.
  17. tbh, i haven't noticed a sportier sedan car that handles as well and happens to be in the 18-25k bracket and look current. How can this import years thing be over? Or is everyone buying some peugeot diesel or toyota prius because the environment is getting all emo?
  18. didn't see, was in the carpark opposite westfield. Younger fellow driving it.
  19. i saw that purple r33 gtr in belco around lunch time as well. must be doing the "oh god i love my car its so shiny and new" rounds. not that there is anything wrong with that.
  20. A Belated Merry Christmas from me and the missus, as well wishes for a prosperous new year. For those who were travelling, i hope you all missed the lawful interventions by our friends in blue (i seem to have managed to), and that your trips were safe.
  21. Thought i could start a bit of chatter going about with things people are wanting to do to their cars, and if people wanted to chip in with tips or places to get things done, that would be sweet too. Basically i want to get a few things done this year to her. In somewhat rough order of preference/requiredness here goes. 1. Fix that darned Exhaust leak - Its post turbo (not losing any boost) and its basically put a swarm of bee's in the induction sound, depending on the load/speed you're doing, it can sound anything from god dawned awful (idle) to pretty mean (we wont talk about how fast we're going). (Planned for when it gets her 80,000km service next week). 2. Rebush the whole car / sort its suspension out - pretty much all the rear subframe is shot, i have a slightly woofed lower control arm and the bushes up the front aren't all that pretty either. Problem is its ~$600 worth of bushes, ~$200 of lower control arm and about a day's work (according to Mark at Belco) to shove it all in and make it sit pretty again. The car is drivable, handles ok, but the inside of the rear tyres seem to be wearing somewhat quick (2 deg neg camber O.O). (Late Jan -> Feb) 3. Ditch the Pod, get a good cold air box - i like the suck, i really do, but it DOES get irritating after the 4th or 5th hour on the hume hwy to Melbourne. (Late Jan -> Feb) 4. A Bigger Turbo. I'm 194kw at the wheels, i want more - probably 260-280. And i want to really really feel like we're going places when you drop 2 gears for that Highway overtake. The PFC, FMIC, Fuel Pump etc are all there, just need a bit more ooomph. (Haha, when we get there - Tax Cheque maybe?) So there is my list - what is everyone else out there dreaming/wanting?
  22. i didn't think you could have a V-Spec R32....
  23. Society these days is all about alleviating responsibility for your actions. You see it everywhere. ~ A Pub is responsible for you because you drank too much (till you walk in the door of another licensed establishment or your home. ~ Your employer is responsible for your massive accident simply because there was no sign saying "do not put your hands in the blender". etc the list goes on and on and on. Its stupid and its breeding a generation of people who simply will refuse to take responsibility for their actions and engage even a little bit of common sense - its ALWAYS someone elses fault.
  24. He's an Ass. Spotted a Silver R32 at the Carwash at Coolemon Court about an hour ago.
  25. Spotted a nice Orange R33 GTST on King Edward Terrace around 4:30ish. Orange is a bit bright, but with the wheels it looks nice.
