I can see where this is going. he has traced an ip and found it an optus net block. thats as far as you can take it publicly. guessing this person has attacked/hacked their servers. I used to manage this process for our company. so if it just attacks/scans you can notify the IP's abuse address with the logs and they will generally disconnect the user. if they have hacked you, unfortunately you will need to go through a legal chance to subpoena the details.

meh I've done same. some-one hits you you can call your insurance company and they take care of it. note you will have to your use their repair company not your choice. but other than that so easy. last 2 ppl that hit me, i've been with AAMI I call them they get me to drop car next day chauffeur car back to work. car fin 4-5 working days later chauffeur car picks me up from work collect car. happy or if you not sure about crap drop it off at one of those sheen place that claim to take care of everything plus give your a crappy getz to drive around

I would have thought for insurance reasons they would. as in if you can give the thief details don't you no longer need to pay excess? same as an accident if you can provide the details on the other party you no-longer pay excess? I would expect that the insurance company would follow legal path to get details.
