  1. I'm sort of wondering why you haven't entered Ben. We have a "Race Car" section and your car fits in there fits perfectly. Get off ya lazy bum,,,enter and show off ya little beast. Neil.
  2. Come on Stuart,,,after we listened to you regaling your little off we want the video. Great year for you by the way mate,,,well done Here 2 older pics I took at Grafton's Hillclimb maybe 2 years ago. Neil.
  3. I have a lovely old guy that sells me tools,,,he's coming and he may or may not sell a thing but he loves the idea. Spotting him will be easy,,,Mel's Skyline on one side and my Radical on the other. Neil.
  4. Jeff,,,thanks for clearing that up. Mine is a single seater,,,but not an open wheeler,,,so no instructor anyway. I'm only really interested in track practice time,,,maybe this event is not for me. Thanks Neil.
  5. It would help us heaps if we didn't have cope with entrys on the day. While I'll say yes what we don't want is a mad influx of cars turning up unpaid. That just pisses everyone off,,,you,,,me,,,the poor bastard that has to do the paperwork and working out where to put cars. . Neil.
  6. We taped all of the coverage and got not even a nano-second of the black beast. Channel 7 suck. Neil.
  7. Can I bring my Radical up there to play or is the lack of a roof exclude me?. Neil.
  8. I'm looking at importing 8 race wheels with rubbish tyres fitted and 10 centre lock adaptors from the USA for my Radical. Question is,,,I need to arrange a freight company. Have any of you guys ever done this and if so who did you use?. Sea freight would take ages I would assume,,,so air freighting them maybe better,,,,I don't know as I have never imported anything this big before. Hope someone can help. Cheer Neil.
  9. Here's some pics I took of Terry's cars rear end. So very nice of him to air jack it for me to take theses. Thanks Terry,,,,I know you snoop around here from time to time. Note how clean it is and also the cars underbodies paint work is as good as the rest of the car. These pics were only ever for my consumpsion,,,as we were working out Duncan and Mark sports sedans rear end. I was most interested in how they cooled the rear brakes,,,in the end very simple. Of note also is the date on the diff coolers filter,,,Terry would have no reason to flick the switch these days. Neil.
  10. Oh my bad,,,my very bad,,,hows about this,,,if it starts with an N and ends in an N or starts with a D and ends with N they are very welcome. Thats closer to what we want,,,those cars would be rad. Neil.
  11. Oh how very very sad,,,mine and I'm sure all SAU members condolences go to the families and their friends. The 19th of November will stay in our minds forever!!!. Neil.
  12. Where's all the Skylines that haven't entered,,,get off ya lazy bums and enter your car. GTR's,,,everything and anything that starts with "GT" and the best one of the lot the beautiful R33 GTS-t's???. At this rate the 1st ladies car will win her class hands down. A week out we will be polishing,,,blackening the tyres and making her look a million bucks,,,all her 9 years of bumps and bruises have been smoothed out by the wonderful boys at Andy's Resto and she's looking great. Come on all you pussies or Mel will be getting a trophy she helped purchase. Where's all the Dato's for that matter,,,Datsun's are so rad. Where's all the long timers like Fatz,,,Richard,,,Merli,,,Simon,,,Dan ect,,,come on guys ENTER. Neil.
  13. Well I may not have placed but what a great weekend. Big thanks has to go to Graham,,,my wifey,,,Duncan,,,Kelly,,,Mark and Richard Fricker. Graham what can I say but a Massive THANK YOU,,,putting us up in a great house and all your work over the weekend. Great to meet all you Vic guys,,,SAU sure is a cool place to be. What about that track,,,sensational !!!. I am in love with it. Everything about the joint was bloody great. I still can't beleive how long I'm flat in 6th going down the straight,,,in the end I wasn't braking for turn 1 just off the throttle and back into it. What I need is heaps of laps around there as every session I worked out better lines. I really have to stop listening to you tin-top guys lines,,,I braked way to early all the time. Thank you PIARC for putting on such a great event. Bring on next year at Morgan Park. Neil.
  14. After last weekend,,,watching the targa cars running around there I have re-assessed my top 10 goal. I'd forgotten how bloody long that straight is and how quick the rest of it is. In actual fact I'm a little nervous. All the big horsepower/torque cars are going to hand me my arse on a plate !!!. I have a question though,,,not knowing if there will be a tyre changing mob there,,,is there somewhere competent in close proximity to the track that can swap rubber for me?. Neil.
  15. Whilst I agree and dis-agree with most of the boys posts,,,huge amounts of money is NOT always required. At 18 what you should be doing is racing a kart,,,actually you should have started 10 years ago,,,but it's not to late,,,working through that whole no suspension and limited engine tuning sort out stuff is what you need to learn. That will give you a sound background about set ups for your future of which your engineer will love you for and these days actually demand. Finding a job within the Kart racing community is by far very helpful indeed. That way you can actually work out in your own mind if you have what it takes to cut it in the big time. Almost every one of our top drivers learned there skills in karts. Roy's right,,,forget about Skylines and tin-tops if you are serious,,,thats just a waste of money,,,sure it's fun but it's not going to get you a drive in someone else's car,,,which is what will help you move up through the ranks. Richard is also very correct,,,all bar the F3 stuff,,,thats just a money sucking class that teaches you how to throw away money faster than you can pack shelves at woolies of which you need to do if you have no money. You actually need approx 200 hundred thousand bucks to play in that class per year. How do I know what I'm talking about some might ask,,, Frosty's dad and I are great friends and the old boy used to be my boss. I have seen/disgusted/evaluted and talked about Marks rise from karts through formula ford to v8 stupid cars, for years, so I actually do know what am talking about. Neil.
  16. Rumors Rumors Rumors,,,I heard one,,,and it came from a very reliable source. All I can say is it will be BIGGER and BETTER than the last. I beleive there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Neil.
  17. Love ya style Owen. Wifey's GTS-T is currently being fixed,,,she's getting all the years of dents,,,scratches and marks fixed,,,then a full detail. I'm bloody excited. I've entered the Radical as well,,,think I'll leave her dirty so the other race cars have a chance. Neil.
  18. Unfortunatley I'm with the smart lady,,,I get in enough trouble with officaldom as it is and when I drink I drink heaps. Illegal Drugs (“prohibited drugs”) and Alcohol. During the event, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the paddock, pits or any other portion of the competition venue under the control of the officials is expressly forbidden until all practice or competition activity is concluded for the day. Any driver or crew member who is found to be affected by alcohol on the day of the event or practice therefore shall not be permitted to participate. Refer NCR 145A of the current CAMS Manual. In addition the persons concerned will be subject to the Articles for Alcohol Testing and CAMS Drugs in Sport Policy. Competitors, crews, or officials may be tested for alcohol or other drugs at any time during the event. This regulation serves as the required 24-hour notice to Competitors, Crew and Officials.
  19. I should charge an advertising fee. http://www.cams.com.au/Media/News/2009/200...ampionship.aspx
  20. I've entered and paid for the 1st Ladies 1996 R33 GTS-T Series 2 of which we have owned for 9 years. She will be detailed to within an inch of her life and we expect to win nothing. This Show n Shine is about ALL of us showing off ALL our rides and having a great time. So enter the show and have your baby there what ever state she's in. Neil.
  21. No mate,,,Ringwood is a crappy track,,,I'll never go back there and I can't do King Edward Park because the radicals to low. Neil.
  22. No you can't have dates yet mate,,,sorry but your way to early. Bathurst hillclimbs are usually Feb or March. http://www.blcc.com.au The License is easy,,,just go to the cams site and upload it,,,you are already a member of our club,,,so half the work is done. Log booking your car would be a great idea as well. Neil.
  23. I was all set to enter Bathurst but NSW State Supersprints start on the 17th January at Oran Park G/P so I'll be flat out getting all the changes done that I need to do. What you guys really need to do is register for the NSW hillclimbs and do Bathursts 2 day state champs. Sundays mountain straight climb is without a doubt the best and fastest climb ever. Neil.
