    101 Motorcafe?

Never mentioned anything about the previous owner and his service. Never delt with them under their old system so I have no comment on them for that. You have to look at what you're saying though, from your car looks like you have money to spend on anything you want for the car. Getting "charged" $1,000 to unlock an ECU to the normal working class GI Joe is a bit steep, especially when you have a valid excuse why you are not going back to them (ie: living 4000kms away!) If they wanted to charge $100, fine, would have paid it, but $1,000... for a code to unlock MY ecu? Don't think so. I don't care if they are nice guys, they need to realise the power 'word of mouth' and trying to rip me off. They might have though I was a poor Darwin girl with a normal Skyline that noone knew about. Hardly. I have contacts all over Aust (except Tas) and they all know about what 101's attempted to do. If you don't believe me, ring 101 and ask what happened about my motec code

    101 Motorcafe?

2 months ago from what I heard, cause a mate of mine is friends with the previous owner and under the contract he couldn't give out what the code was. 101 might know what they are doing, all I am saying is under pressure if something goes wrong, you're own your own and they don't want to help you until you throw some cash in their face. That's not how to do business IMO. Hope nothing goes wrong with your engine R33MR. If you want your car tuned I suggest going for a drive down to coast to see this guy: Performance Injection Tuning Services (PITS) 10/ 42 Export Drv Molendinar 4214 0411 340 033 Matty Spry
  3. Why'd you bother posting then? That's 5 - 10 seconds of your life you'll never get back. Do you know what the sound of one hand clapping is? *clap*

    101 Motorcafe?

cliffnotes of that PF thread are: The previous owner of my skyline had it tuned at 101, I bought the skyline, drove it back to Darwin, engine blew up, had it rebuild, flew a mate of mine (Dale, 10sec_rx7) up from Sydney to tune it, realised the ECU was locked, called 101 to get a password to open it up to make use of my friend. 101 couldn't remember it, then they could enter in a 'magic' code to erase the one in it and provide a base map, although I would need to take the car to them, they didn't care I was in Darwin, then they remembered the code, and said I could have it for $1,000. This was a progression over about 7 hours. PF got together and constantly called 101 asking them for my code but until they saw $1,000 their attidue was and I quote "it's not my problem". I don't know if they are great guys, never met them, I don't know if they do a good tune, although I have heard different and I don't know about their mods or servicing. I do know that their customer service STINKS and that when they are put under pressure when something goes wrong, you need to pay them to help you, and even then they do a suck ass job. They will NOT tune a car and leave the ECU unlocked. They lock the ECU to confirm you go back there and spend more money with them... not to protect a "good" tune. Zoom, Perth Street Cars, Hot4's, Race and another mag were all going to look into it further. We managed to get through the ECU lock by going through MoTec after exlapining what service we were offered by 101. Motec were going to do their own investigation. Take you're car there if you like, but I would rather stap my eyes out with blunt spoons.
  5. Or take it to Option 1 Garage and speak to Rhys about getting Dale (10sec_rx7) up to tune your car. I am sure Dale said he was going to QLD soon.
  6. I think I will be living with someone, and I might have a better job lined up. thanks for everyone's input.
  7. my skyline was tuned there (101 motorcafe), then the car moved interstate and they wanted $1000 for the code so I could retune her up here in darwin. motec, 10sec_rx7, our w/shop up here and 33,000+ readers on a pf thread all know about it, and wont be going to 101. zoom, hot4s, perth street cars, race and another one... I have forgotten for the moment were going to do a write up about it.
  8. Having trouble trying to find anyone who has in stock / makes these wheels. They have been discontinued but surely there is someone who has a set, even though I only need 1 wheel. Hit a pot hole and it cracked. Going on a Holden Commodore (Signature). The new wheel is 'Force 2' but they are incorrect apparently, I haven't had the time to check for myself. If anyone knows where I can call to get one of these wheels please let me know. If you know someone selling a set, let me know cause I might get all of them to avoid going through this again next time it happens. Thanks heaps guys.
  9. Check the diaphgram of the wastegate, there might be a hole in it which means your boost is going to spike. It is a cheap fix by replacing the part, and you'll be able to control your boost.
  10. I haven't read this thread, I don't need to. R32 FTMFW!
  11. The NT Government are trying to fix what isn't broken. Deaths are from not wearing seat belts, running red lights and drink driving. How many RBT's have I seen from Jan until now? Two. We have red light cameras that don't work, literally, and the seat belts are a huge issue out in the communities or on rural roads. Single vehicle accidents, usually a roll over on a dirt road from over correcting will take care of those who want to pile 10 people into a landrover. The majority of our speed related deaths, have been in suburban areas on speed limited roads. Go figure... IMO I think the Government are trying to get rid of the Cannonball run or any posibility that it will return. Sure, there are deaths on our open roads, but there are deaths on your 100kph roads too. I agree in saying our road toll is high, but it has nothing to do with the highway. Edit: Spastic typing
  12. ^ They already have that, the Navy boys have them on their boats. You don't want to drain the sea out though, but with global warming and the melting of the ice caps, and the whole world being flooded, maybe it isn't such an insane idea.
  13. I woul buy a Suzuki Swift for a daily driver and spend the rest on the car I already own.
  14. I am unsure yet. I am hoping to finish up my debts here and move across into a retail job selling bathers or towels or thongs or something totally stress free for a few months, hopefully being able to surf and having a lot of spare time on my hands.
  15. Evening / Morning all. I am thinking about heading to the GC for a working holiday but am unsure on what the good areas are to look at living? Can someone please rattle off some good suburbs so I can check for availability on realestate.com.au Thanks heaps!
  16. a few more are going to pick it up as well after speaking to a few people tonight about it
  17. We got her unlocked. Dale spoke with the Tech guys at MoTeC directly after we told thm what 101 wanted to unlock the code and they talked Dale through it over the phone. 101 wanted $1000 for the code, so a few of us banded together to give them a hard time. It is only going to get worse. Zoom, Hot4's, Race and Perth Street Car all know what 101 have done and they are going to be printing articles about it. If I lived in QLD I would NOT be taking any car near 101. The tunes aren't that spectacular so I have heard anyway, and if they lock your ECU and you want to take it somewhere else, you have to either give them $1,000 or take it to them, they will charge you dyno time to put a base map in her, and then you'll need to get it towed to the place you want to tune her. If you like headaches, and being f**ked over, go to 101 motorcafe.
  18. Phil wouldn't have been the one who tuned the car, it would have been the owner before Phil who did all the mods on her. I was hoping that since that Phil only owned the car from Dec 05 to March 06, someone would still know who owned it before him and I could ask him, but I doubt he would know it either. I have a few options on what I can do. 1) Call 101 Motorcafe first thing Monday morning and see if they will release (know) the password. A mate of mine who owns PF is mates with the guy who he thought owned 101 but apparently sold the business 2 months ago and doesn't really care about telling us what the code is. I hope the new owners are a bit more considerate. 2) If we have no luck with 101 then I have mates who have direct contact with the inside people at MoTeC, and might be able to help me out getting an override code. 3) If all of the above fail, yet another mate has the powers to download the file to override everything and start from scratch. Dale told me this will take about 4 - 5 hours on the dyno, which is a long haul, but he is willing to do it for me which is awesome of him. I am pulling all my contacts out of my black book for this one
  19. Nobody knows who owned it before Phil? I don't think Phil was the guy who got her tuned, I think it was the owner prior to him so I want to find him to see if he knows the password to unlock the Motec so I can tune her.
  20. I have taken this off cruisingbrisbane.com as they told me Phil found this car for sale on this forum...
