Nt To Vote This Week To Adopt A 110km/h Speed Limit Maximum

Haven't heard of anything changing. -
This is a very controversial topic!! Tomorrow or the morning after is D day, and then comes the important issue of breaking in the motor. I have heard numerous ways on how to break in an engine correctly, and I have been given a few sites to read here and here. I have heard leaving it idle for 4 hours will do it, after 20 mins of normal driving is enough and then city driving for 1000kms is what it takes. How I was going to run it in, is get 300 - 400kms of city driving on her, then head down the highway sitting on different rev ranges for a period of time. (ie - 4th @ 4000rpm for 10 mins, 4th @ 3000rpm for 10 mins, 4th @ 2000rpm for 10 mins same through 5th, then 3rd, then back to 4th so on) Is this wrong? What are people's opinions on how to run in an engine?

I have just finished reading the N1 oil pump thread in General Discussions, and now I bit concerned about getting an N1 pump, however I will need to get something. Another fuel pump? As in aditional, or get rid of the one I have and buy something with a higher cc? Radiator will need to be upgraded regardless. Oil cooler, can someone explain this a bit further? And yeah I spent all the money on the Motec, and it came with a free R33 Skyline

Half assed, or unable to afford them yet - see it as you will. Thanks for the advise.

No cams. On the to do list.

Shit sorry, I meant 300rwkw, I was thinking hp cause I previously had 365rwhp so I am aiming for 400rwhp. Sorry, over tired. Still recovering from last night.

Alright, my engine should be getting dropped back into the car Monday/Tuesday but am concerned about my radiator, oil cooler and oil pump. I am going to have around 400rwhp when dynoed, so are the any recomendations on aftermarket gear or will the standard items be able to handle it? In case you don't already know, I have a R33 GTST S1 with the following mods: G-Max Wheels rear: 18x9.5 with 265’s front: 18x8.5 Tein hight and rebound adjustable suspension Full 3inch custom exhaust with Magic Cat and twin Mufflers Ball bearing T70 turbo on X-Force highmount manifold Turbosmart 48mm Pro-Gate wastegate 100mm think Front Mount Inter Cooler Blitz blow off valve Sard fuel pressure Regulator Sard 550cc injectors Walbro 500 horsepower fuel pump Motec Enginge Management System (M600) Exceedy 5 puck clutch Pod air filter Oil catch can Additional thermo fan (2 in total) Bonnet vents Isotta Steering wheel DBA 4000series sloted disks alround with braided lines Braided fuel-line, blow-by, breather and radiator overflow hoses New chrome radiator overflow tank Gates Racing radiator hoses Viper 790VX Pager car alarm 20thou Arias Pistions Adjustable cam gears Full gasket and bearing kit Cometic head gasket GTR rods ARP head studs Is this enough to keep the car from overheating? Edit - f**ked up the hp figure.

I had a bit of a piss up last night and one of my good mates (who is a cop and races BTH - http://www.beattheheatnt.org.au/gallery/vi...s&id=Smokin ) told me that what he has been shown is only 18% of road deaths in the NT are caused by speed. Other fatalities involve speed, but usually involed drunk / drug driving, unknown road conditions, not wearing seat belts, fatigue etc etc and he thinks 18% is pushing it too... There would have been deaths on the open roads, its just not a common occurance, so I don't remember any. I know 2 japs died when they brought their ferrari over for the Cannonball run, which is why it was cancelled. Tourists who aren't used to open flat roads have trouble avoiding the temptation of putting their foot down are the biggest problem. An open speed limit isn't an invitation to see how fast your car goes, it just means you can travel at a speed YOU feel is safe, and why take that away? -
You'll need a Gates timing belt kit. (Seals, Gates Timing belt, Idler and Tensioner)

Nt To Vote This Week To Adopt A 110km/h Speed Limit Maximum
phee replied to Keepleft's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeeeeeeeah cause we have open speed limits in our suburbs It was an 80kms limit in a suburban area, not the open highway. There are NO speed related death in the open speed limit areas that I am aware of. As I said earlier, the only road deaths are from inner city road limited areas. I am not saying open speed limit everything, cause that's stupid. I am saying if something (open limits) aren't broken, don't try to fix them. -

The NT government is going through a lot of stupid ideas at the moment. -
You would get more power out of it if it stayed in the S13. R33's weigh a lot more and it would be a stupid conversion.
-
15 posts in this thread, - your 3 posts, and not including this one... every post has told you that the 300TT isn't worth the swap. Stick with your R33, ven though it might apear "free" to you right now, it will cost ou in the long run.
-
I would hold out until you get offered something better. If you're selling to save money, that is one thing you WONT be doing with a 300TT. I wanted a 300 for a while but after looking a a few, working on them is really hard work, and the engine bay is already full with all the stock parts let alone anything aftermarket. They also weigh a lot more, so if you want something that's going to perform better, you're still worse off the with 300. Maybe swap for a s14 or s15, but definatley not a 300 TT.

I used works TNT account to send it up... LOL got to tell the boss now I am using his account for the car Sinista - what bolts are these from Nissan that you got?
-
Just got my ARP studs... so sexual. Ordered them from Performance Wholesale (see above web address) in QLD before lunch yesterday, arrived 9am this morning. Excellent guys to deal with.

Quick question about the same thing... Just called: Bearing Industries Seven Hills Rd (cnr Station Rd) Seven Hills 2147 (02) 9674 4322 And and Idler and Tensioner is going to cost me $101.20 incl GST and freight. The catch is they only post through Aust Post, which means it is going to take a week to get here (Darwin) and my engine is going to be put back in the car Monday week. Is the Idler, Tensioner and Gates Belt one of the last things to go onto the engine? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this gear up here sooner???

That's beautiful. I would get that enlarged and framed!
