its possibly your boost controller. if it doesnt allow the wastegate to close quickly enough, this will happen. i had a similar thing happening with my turbotech mbc. then i drilled a hole into it to let the pressure out of the actuator line immediately, and it made a huge difference. theres always going to be the split second re-spool at gear changes. but 2 or 3 seconds is too long.

and what happened? see there's no end to this story. i want to know what the jap tuners said when they saw the aus 98 ron. and why would they send their ecu and fuel over to japan anyway? i assume for a tune. which means they believe not a single aus tuner can match a jap tuner for tuning. i find that hard to believe.

Will Aftermarket R33 Gts-t Front/dump Pipe Fit Er34?
Munkyb0y replied to Skyline1989's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i think they are slightly different..enough for it not to fit. theres a bend near the cat that's different, and i think a slight difference in length -

Tein Super Street - Aus Spec Vs Jap Spec
Munkyb0y replied to Munkyb0y's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i'm with you on the ride comfort. thats why i went with the super street + swaybars. too stiff can make it a pain to drive. and many times i opt for my gf's car. that's a sad state of affairs lol from what i've found of aus spec owners, full hard isnt too bad. firm but comfy. even fulcrum told me they come shipped with dampers set at 8 that's why i think u might have the jap spec. as far as i can tell, you cant get the aus spec to become really stiff. but i'll stop speculating, till i get mine on -

thats a very thorough reply. cheers Are you sure you've got Aus spec? That sounds like the Jap spec valving to me. -

+1 am dealing with him right now. you CANT go wrong. -
I bought a set of Tein Super Street for ecr33. Theyre used. I emailed Fulcrum with the part numbers on the shocks. Fulcrum told me By the look of your pictures these are an OZ spec kit. The Oz Spec kit numbers begin with “Q”, whereas the Jap Spec kits begin with G I havent got these in the car yet. And i want to set the rears before i put them in, and hope it's the right setting, and leave them alone. So, what I want to know is, what damper settings do you guys use on your Tein SS. Specify whether theyre Aus or Jap spec. Also, have the Aus Spec guys found the valving too soft? Do you need to run it at full hard?

not sure to be honest. temples, food, and general checking stuff out. i havent even booked those places yet. check out lonely planet online or buy the book. my gf bought it, as she always does before trips. it has some good info on things to do, local customs, places to eat, all sorts of useful stuff. I'll be there early June.

After Market Air Box For R33
Munkyb0y replied to ELMOHASA33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hahah calm down man fark we asked you to show us the box, so we could see the quality and look etc. because ive seen ppl try and sell crap on here for large amounts of money before. and my airbox is very nice thanks. its a single piece of perspex, cut and shaped to snuggly fit the space around the pod. its not sealed at the bottom, but then why would it be? thats another avenue for cold air to get in. and it gets its air from a 3 inch tube running from the front bar into the box, from underneath. non of this snorkel bullshit. btw, the snorkel does not see direct airflow coz its blocked by the bonnet, therefore the air needs to be sucked in to get into the box. so you need a 100% sealed box to use this method, like the standard filter box. and after all that trouble, you still dont have as much cool air coming in, compared to an open 3 inch tube, not to mention that the snorkel may interfere with your aftermarket intercooler piping. -
to be honest, i dont know. i'm assuming theyre the jap spec. so far, i cant find how to tell the difference by looking at the part numbers/label on the actual shocks themselves. the kit number would be different, but i dont have the kit number, because obviously, they didnt come in a box. anyone know how to tell? ive emailed fulcrum with the part numbers, but no reply as yet.

yes! i think i'm going to go with the 7 day pass, and have it validated just before i leave tokyo for kyoto. then we can travel around to wherever, and then get back to tokyo and spend some more time there. so whats the pass to use for tokyo metro? is there a 5 day pass? is the suica card the way to go? does that cover yokahama? ive looked and confused myself a bit, and now i'm just lazy lol.

Few Odd Things With My Clutch And Shift
Munkyb0y replied to dyefuker's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
no, most of us dont sit idleing in the driveway to warm our gtst's up. its not required, and not recommended, and doesnt warm the box up at all. just taking it easy when you drive off till oil temps come up is the right way to go about warming it up. but that doesnt answer the question. -

i bought the teins second hand, so its not a viable price comparison in my case. but the bilsteins with king spring, or whiteline springs will set you back at least $1500 or so, depending what kind of deal you can get. thats about the cheapest i could get them (WITH circlip adjustment). i think the teins sell for about $2100 delivered from Nengun . I havent installed them yet. Waiting on some c spanners. They come with a 4kg spring rate front and rear i believe. Ive also heard 5kg front, 4kg rear. But either way, its not a heavy spring. And from all accounts, they provide a very comfortable ride at soft damper setting, that can be turned up to quite stiff if you require. 16 level damper adjust.
