  1. nos wont affect the turbo, as long as hes running a good boost controller all the nos will do is create more zorst gasses, the wastegate will redirect the gasses.
  2. nylon comp wheel was also for quicker spool but the main reason was for the bearings. a lighter rotating mass lightens the load on bearings, which stretched the service life!!!
  3. if you look at your cas, its also a mitsu item..
  4. this is half correct. the reason is the wheel is pressed from the inside out by the shaft, and the material that bonds the wheel to the shaft weakens. next time you flog the turbo, the wheel expands BEFORE the heat can transfer to the shaft and evenly heat the unit, causing the wheel to "fall off"
  5. make a ceramic wheel and shaft... but hmmm, how to fix it to the comp wheel... think of this and make a mint..haha unfortunatly the shaft would break on the first compressor surge
  6. this is true, but unfortantly as you will know, the turbo relys on hot expanding gasses to operate efficiently not just gas velocity, so its a bad circle of ceramic death..lol
  7. if you could keep the exhaust wheel and shaftat an even say 25oC, the wheel would not explode. if its pumping 15psi @150,000rpm for 30 seconds @ 1200oC it will die fast due to expansion if its pumping 15psi @150,000rpm for 10min @ 10oC it will stay together as long as the temps are even, and consistent
  8. ur funny. i actually am an engineer. and its not the rotating speed, its the heat. the excessive shaft temps cause the wheel to split, as the shaft expands and pushes out on the wheel. just to clarify. cheers
  9. what are you, a f**king engineer ay!
  10. let me tell you dreamers something.. as long as you can do the work yourself ( saves you MASSiVE $$$), you can get 500-600hp for around 15grand. i know this cos i did it. haltech ecu 1200cc injectors walbro intank pump feeding surge talk and bosch pumps forged rods 20 tho oversize forged pistons stock valvetrain ported head big clutch (most $$) 2nd hand gt42r ( boost @ 5600) stock box and diff no im not lying. i have personally seen jason from wild1 motorsport push 580 odd hp with STOCK bottom end AND head!!! maybe not a reliable choice, but possible thankyou
  11. dont use quiktrak, even tho they use radio instead of gps, they a f**king hopeless, my car got broken into ages ago, they never told me. yet my car is sitting in my driveway and the battery starts to go flat, THEY CALL ME!! wat the
  12. i know what you mean man, apparently the police in my area have had a few complaints about my engine noise (exhaust in guessing), and without warning they are at my house with a tow truck, impounding it, for a thorough inspection? WTF i nearly died, i havnt done anything, my exhaust has been defected previous and WAS cleared by the epa, WAT THE f**k is with people these days, GET A LIFE I REKON!
  13. shit guys thats cheap. i had one built a few years ago to similar spec, and it made 300rwkw! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!!!
  14. i wana know what size rims (smallest) will fit and clear the r33s1 brakes? im after a set of front runners, but can only seem to find them in 15"... and suggestions? And no, im not going smaller brakes
  15. hmm.... i wonder what the fines are if you do get caught.. i just got a full moly cage done and theres no way i wont be registering it...
  16. wow that sucks. how is it so many hot rods etc run around with full cages then?
  17. hey im not sure if this is in the right section, but here goes. i was working recently for a engineering company, and one of the guys i worked with informed me that roll cages are no longer alowed on the street. This worries me because i am currently building a new car, WITH A ROLL CAGE, and if i cant get it engineered im guna be screwed. Anyone out there know the truth about roll cages and engineers reports/blue slips??? this info is required for nsw obviously... Thanks in advance
  18. the total spinning mass as increased with the addition of rb26 rods due to the extra materials in the stronger rod, so you MAY experience slightly slower rev up speed. probably so minimal you wont notice it
  19. its unfortunatly due tho the fact that most performance import owners are young hoons like me. us p platers are more likely to break the law compared to a 70 year old man in an old camira with more rust than the titanic, so we get the most attention... sucks ass really...
  20. i have here for sale a r33 gtst 5speed manual box with single plate organic clutch, shifter and clutch pedal assembly. i am selling due to an auto drag box conversion... any offers will be considered but i am looking for around the $1300 mark pm me for any offers/ questions
  21. i know this isnt quite what ur after but i have a 33gtst box with dead syncros, and possible broken teeth... i was hoping for $6-700...
