The Next Tick On The Checklist
central coast person replied to Turk1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Turk1 i would try get they for you but it is against company rules and i dont have the time to bring the parts in without suspicion. If you want i can have a look at springs at Supercheap and give you the code to get it cheap as possible for a customer. I can get it from the cheapest supplier and bring it in for $8.95 (any supercheap will order it at that price for you if i give you the part number and tell you which supplier to do it under). Shocks on the other hand the best ones are whiteline but they have discontinued all shocks for r33's -

turk1, the GTS-4 DOESN'T have the fork mounts at the rear. When you get quotes you have to ask. GTR front shocks and springs GTS-T rear shocks and springs If you stick your head under the rear of the car you can see the eye mounts on the front and rear. I can get king springs for about 275 and TEIN's 390 Try find a mate who works at a auto shop, will save you heaps. I can order from the cheapest suppliers and not have to pay postage and everything It will save you about 400 overall -
Just Me Venting.. Why Buy Non Turbo..
central coast person replied to Nick.'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
still doesn't compare to a 300zx twin turbo. It takes half an hour to put your hand in the engine bay then another half an hour to put tool in the hand then another hour to take 1 bolt of the 4 bolts off ........ yeah sucks -
The Next Tick On The Checklist
central coast person replied to Turk1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The Bilsteins are expensive for a reason. Because they work....Basically coilovers are better than shocks, a $5000 set of coilovers is going to be better than the Bilsteins with king springs, but a $1500 set of coilovers compares to the most basic cheao $600 set of springs and shocks you can find, probily Gabriel base model designs.......... Lots of the Chinese coilovers barley pass ADR certification if they pass at all. look into that. My set up is KYB with 5zigen springs at rear and stock GTR at the front. If i had Bilsteins all round id be very happy. -
Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
in that case then if you can change the spring no problem then they would probably save lots of money. Still prefer Bilsteins for the handling but 6kg and 4kg is a massive improvement for there 10kg, 8kg setup. -

Filling Gearbox
central coast person replied to central coast person's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
its a GTS4 so its a gearbox the same as a stagea. I guess it must be so close to the top judging by everyone's box's ranging from 3.5-4.1 that 3.8 will be fine ..... Cheers for your help -

taking a break year to work 25 hours a week instead of 10 as my usually weekly time now. More money and more time = better skyline -
hey guys, looking for a quick answer too my situation. I need to drive tomorrow to get to school to do my trail examinations and i did my gearbox oil today to take a chill from study. I put 3.9L of redline shockproof in my box and thats all i had, i thought it was 3.8L to fill the gearbox. Am i going to be ok driving my gearbox around without filling it up to the, filler plug......am i close to the filler plug with 3.9L that it isnt going to matter??? Cheers, Andrew

Car Cutting Out While Driving
central coast person replied to -Jimmy-'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its not a engine fault, ive just reconditioned my engine COMPLETELY except for fan belts and this happened to me a week ago. The car cut out for probably 3 second and i hit the accelerator 2 times and it didn't do anything and then it just turned back on when it went from 80km\h down to 50km\h. Engine felt like it was still running as if i had the clutch held in. I asked mechanic and its an electrical fault. Relays and fuse's have to be checked and even the ECU can be playing up in worst case's. If it were a piece of piping it would be noticeable all the time as there would be lover revs due to pressure loss. -
Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
d2 coilovers are 10kg at the front and 8kg at the rear...........not even track skyline have shocks rated that high, the reason i said is because these anodized coil overs are to heavy for Aussie roads. Read up about coil overs on the suspension forums, they will give you the info on whats good for its money and whats not. I agree it would defiantly work out a lot cheaper but i doubt the handling will be half as good. -
Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?

the coils will lower your ride so you will be closer to the ground and therefor better control. Swaybars are always an awesome mod, there probably better than shocks. Still shock would complete it. -

ill check the cat out tomorrow. Exhaust still sounds same and at the skyline meet tonight we all just agreed it is the new engine cleaning the exhaust system of the old carbon. Its the stock cat so theirs always the chance the cat is old anyway and needs to be changed. -
Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
$2750 sounds about right there. The shocks are expensive because there Bilstein but they are the best shocks. Only thing i would look into is the springs if you find some good ones for 600 its still under $3000 .... $2950 the labour is good price if it includes a tune to suit the GTS-4 -

try, Supercheap Autopro Repco Autobarn Bersons Fulcrum suspention is the supplier for supercheap, dont know about the other companies I wont post the list up here because its huge but go to http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/tein-...butors.html#nsw that give you every single TEIN distributor in NSW you dont need TEIN springs remember you have a wide selection when you go to the shops, ask them what brands are available and write down every brand and price they give you. Call the TEIN distributors and see how cheap they are, i know Supercheap gets there TEIN products directly from Fulcrum. use those 5 shops and a list of all shocks and springs available from each and you will have good ideas of the money you can spend before what you want. -

its a stock exhaust system with a cannon, i would be best getting my dream exhaust system. Kakimoto type R with my DKNE extractors finally put on again and i dont know what front pipe to get ..... custom one????? -
The r34 engine is rb25de NEO Its a completely different way in taking off the plugs, they dont have to worry about a intake pipe sitting on top everything. 1) Take the airbox out or pod filter. 2) Take off the Air flow meter and put it away somewhere so it cant be damaged. 3) There should be a hose clap that is clamping the intake pipe around the throttle body, that comes of with a philips head and it loosens the pipe so it can be pulled off the throttle body. There are also a few blots i think that keep the pipe stable so undo those to pull it out. 4) Allen key unscrews 8 screws (by memory) that allow you to take the cover off and it will reveal 6 coilpacks 5) socket set takes the blots off each coilpack then they simply come out by pulling on coilpack as they have rubber seals 6) socket takes spark plug out 7) if sparkplug us fouled get some dielectric grease to clean them (found at all car shops, supercheap ETC ETC) 8) repeat step 5-7 making sure you do 1 cylinder at a time to save you the mess. AYW550 - if your car only burns a few drops and your using 10w-60 then its where it should be in life. Its just a sligltly thicker oil than the 10w-40 to compensate for inevitable engine wear. If the plugs have never been changed, then they have had 120,000km of oil burn on them ....... seriously try those new plugs. If it was the coils your going to need new plugs anyway so just try the plugs first that way if it isn't them you have the plugs already there waiting for new coils if it ends up being coils.

Do Up Interior, Exterior Or Engine?
central coast person replied to SNORELAX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Andrew, the fronts will fit, but I'm not sure about the rears. It's been a while since I was under an R33GTS4, from memory they have the bush on the rear shock bottom, not the fork like an R33GTR. Easy to tell just stick you head under the rerar bumper and have a look. I seem to remember from the Group Buy kits that on R33GTS4's I used R32GTR front shocks and springs with R33GTST rear springs and shocks. When I did the original testing, the R33GTR springs and shocks were far to heavy for the R33GTS4 as they don't have the weight of the extra turbo stuff in the front. I also recall that R33GTS4's don't have rear swaybars and from memory the front swaybar is very small. I strongly suggest you have a look at upgrading the swaybars as they will give you the best dollar value handling up grade. Cheers Gary Courtesy of Gary GTR front GTST rear your going to have to get the shocks adjusted to suit it aswell Get a price of shocks Get a price of springs Getting them fitted and tuned for a GTS-4 pricey -

KYB Bilstein They would be the three shock brands that are value for money and they work. Skyline R33 (HR33) Coupe 4WD GTR 08.93- 02.98 B46-2107 F S A B46-2108 F S G Bilstein say its the same as as GTR so im not sure what to look for......GTR or GTR front GTST\GTS rear. I sent a pm too sydneykid so ill get back to you with a answer on what to ask for at the shops. -

Sorry i didnt know if you had seen my other posts about my engine rebuild that i had at the start of the year. The previous owner killed the engine but now its brand new and everything in the engine bay has been reconditioned buy a friend mechanic and i put the engine together with the help of my uncle. When the engine was bad it chewed up 5L of oil every 500km and the carbon build up in the exhaust system from driving (10,000km of driving with the engine like this) is very thick and i was thinking maybe the new engine was igniting the old carbon. The new engine hasn't lost a drop of oil in the 1200km and the mechanic bored and honed it with the finest stone so its better than factory. (even from factory engines have small bits of oil the pistons leave behind) I guess a new exhaust system will fix the problem whether its the cat or carbon
