Going All Out On Rb25de
central coast person replied to timmy_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey man i work as a nissan interp and can tell you the heads of the DE an DET are different. Better look into it more because the DET head uses same parts but spings and a few other bits looks the same but made stronger and have different partNo. If you do want to do these mods i can tell you its a mess to mod internaly on a rb25 because it took me just over a year too do it all. It took me 8 months to source 20thou pistons from Nissan japan but it was worth it. Also recomend getting rid of the rear wheel drive and changing to GTS-4 even though its heavier , on a track about ...... a million times better than what the GTS does. The intake alone will cost you about $4000 + because you cant just dump large amounts of fuel into a engine with stock air intake, not even a stock twin throttle body off a GTR with be a good enough upgrade you going to have to get individual throttle bodies built onto a custom intake manifold all running all of map sensors which will cost $2000 including tune and ecu..........so before your even at the engine i can see it costing $6000 jus because you need custom shit. Pistons from japan, 20 thou are $3600 (but i brough the last set in the world nissan had in stock so too bad just have to get custom) you can use stock rods and shaft or buy the turbo models forged ones minus the pistons but thats a hefty $4000. The head is easy to get parts for because you can use the RB25DET parts and not have to work about fitting, it will be stuff mean to take a turbo pounding. But yeah its a good $2000 in just the 24 valves set up alone...... Cam shafts and gears aswell and a exhaust system ...... yeah the list goes on with parts but intake will be the most expensive part too do and too see 300Kw at all four your looking at $30,000 of a fine tuned machine. Also remember about gaskets and shiming and stuff. I doubt you can do this yourself, a engine rebuild shop will have to condition your head and block and shim things so there goes some labour costs.... No offence too you by the way, im not a fourm warrior, hope this give you the general gist of the work involved. I have gone through my car internally and its cost $4300 and i had to stop there and havnt moved anywhere in 14 months..............things are expensive even when you get 50% of parts and do ALL the labour yourself (excluding engine reconditioning). Hope your rich! -
You have a very hard engine to modify let alone find parts second hand or even genuine new.......i dont think i could order anything for it in the country. The 2.0L single cam engine does not do any wonders for you but is reliable and easy to maintain All i can say is get the car serviced every 5000km and keep it a everyday car! who knows you might even save money from not moding it and build a track car that needs no rego or insurance just the parts, so you can modify it to your time span and gain a race car

Agreed do a search publicly too see if anyone will fix it for you. In the mean time this is a ebay company that repair them and are very good, also you get it sent too you and if you can take it out yourself and bolt the other one in you save more. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R32-...=item414f9ff7ca Just remember to ask them for the part No. too make sure as the one i have given you i looked up in the Nissan system and is for the GTS-4 and i am not too sure about the other models if they use the same one.

I'm buying a Skyline... What should I look for?
central coast person replied to Merli's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
what do you want checked? i can do it right here at the moment seeing as i have the catolouges on my home computers. I work as a spare parts interp at nissan on the central coast, deallers usually turn people down just because its difficult too look imports up and the dealer i work at turned people down until i started there. The catuaouges are in japanese and most parts have to be ordered over the phone from japan taking a few weeks so yeah they were just being lazy. what number are you using? You have to enter the VIN-code -
new is about 2 grand .......... Pretty hefty price but its not in demand, even my price which is dealer price is about $1600 and i usually see about 50% off retail so it defiatly will be hard to even find 2nd hand. Give us a yell if you want any seals mate and ill get you a quote and trade price

R33 N/a Perfortmance Exhaust
central coast person replied to N/A 33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The best sounding exhuast system for a NA skyline would be DKNE extractors - $500 with HPC coating is what i got mine for.... Custom front pipe and 100cell cat 2.5" - $500 again Kakimoto Racing Kakimoto R (r33 NA 75mm muffler) - $1000 This is a really quiet setup its about 77dB but you can get it really loud if you ever wanted to buy just removing the intake silencer box in your engine bay. Pretty hefty price for a good exhaust system =\ -
1). If it continues to leak and your fluid PS fluid drops even a mm below the min level you can stave the pump of fluid and cause further damage. 2). Not too serious if you keep your fluids topped up, having it looked at buy a specialist will help you too detmine the problem. 3). Not sure but its Part No. is 49001-23U05 (I work for Nissan as a spare parts interp and have a GTS-4 myself and this will have to be back ordered from japan) 4). Need to ask a sepecialist if they can fix it as they will need to know what its going on with what parts. 5). Its a lot of parts and either side is totally different, i have not problem ordering any part for the rack. 6). Reconditioned one i dont know and a new one i will tell you tomorrow, probily going to be a fair bit.......

What Water Temp Do You Have
central coast person replied to BOOZTJUNKEY's topic in General Maintenance
Nissan LLC, we sell it at nissan and its pretty cheap. Its a normal green one and your probily better off using it, also make sure your mix is 33% and not 50% as that is too think and pointless for australia and will not be as effective at cooling, doing a 33% mix over the 2 year change periods and you wont see any corrosion. Nulons red last for 4 years and there green last for 5 years and are ok specifications too use. But the nissan stuff is as good as gold temp last checked on a consult was 83 degrees -
Flushing Coolant From Block
central coast person replied to Mid_Nite_R33's topic in General Maintenance
Would probily do a radiator DIY on the weekend if you want too wait, there is a drain plug on the block i can locate easily. The RB26 has the exhaust front pipe blocking its one so the rb25 is VERY easy. It work just as well as taking the thermostat out because your going to have to get a new gasket if you do that and the jobs going to take twice as long. All you need to do is put a hose in the top of the engine and let it flush out the drain hole on the block -

i can order it but its a 15 day wait from Nissan as a VOR -
Does It Feel Like Your R33 Is Outdated?
central coast person replied to crazyr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Agreed. Some people seem to not like carbon fiber bonnets but i havnt been told it looks shit by anyone from the public or SAU meets and i wouldnt care if they did because it actually serves a purpose for cooling and weight reduction and looks good too me. Same goes for any other aftermarket part you want too put on there.... Also i wouldnt consider them too out dated more that your parts feel worn. If it makes you feel better i can order anything for a skyline at nissan and only wait 10 days!!! from nissan japan and we also service skyline so you could make it good as gold for a few thousand $ haha Still its never going too be comfortable with the stock seats =\ -

Slotted Rotors
central coast person replied to AzzurrA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Even better all up get slotted and dimpled from RDA!!! DBA are a great brand and RDA aswell and i cannot tell the difference but RDA do slotted with dimpled rotors which are a one of a kind and if you get them off Ebay in the UK they will be here in a week and VERY! cheap. If you want them in australia be prepared to pay I also think they are zinc plated to iliminate rust. -
if you stand at the front of your car you will see the throttle body has a small box attached to it (has a wire and a plug if its a series 1 or if its a series 1.5 it will have the S2 TPS but 1 of the plugs has no wires going into it and the S2 has 2 plugs both wired up). Shouldnt be able too miss it now

Pro Ma Oil Additives And Fuel Treatments
central coast person replied to DanB's topic in General Maintenance
Its not sold at supercheap, my weekly job is nissan and my weekend job is supercheap and not many people know about it at nissan let alone supercheap selling it. A lot of people come looking for it and a guy with a sound proof patrol thats done 650,000km and using stock viscosity, he has been using it every service and its probily never going too die at this rate. I do agree this stuff works but my engine is only 5000km old and i might just leave it till about 50,000km too feel safe. -
Hey mate, i know the problem all too well next time you have the high rev, take the wire going into your Throttle postion switch out. Once you do this it confirms the s if the rev's drop, if so then you need a new throttle postion sensor. I forget how much they are but i can order them at nissan.

Pro Ma Oil Additives And Fuel Treatments
central coast person replied to DanB's topic in General Maintenance
I saw some guy at a car exabition use the addative on a bearing and before he use it and stool on a shaft the bearing would grind and once he use the treatment after 5 min it was sweet. I would use it in my car but im just sticking with redline oils throughout the car. This additive uses fine soft particles of metal that mould thereselves onto damaged parts but i worry it can clog gallaries =\ -

How Too Change Front And Rear Diff Oil
central coast person replied to central coast person's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
He guys, just got some info at work (Nissan). We now have the english literal translated catalouges for most skylines. Checked our skyline catalouges and interpreted all oils too suit our conditions ........... R32 Standard rear diff - 75w-90 R33 Standard rear diff - 75w-90 R34 Standard rear diff - 75w-90 R32 LSD (rear diff) - 80w-140 or 75w-140 R32 Front open diff - 80w140 or lightweight shockproof which is a 30w-140 also can use 80w-90 as a cheaper option but only for street use as the viscosity range is shorter than 80w-140 R33 LSD (rear diff) - 80w-140 or 75w-140 R33 Front open diff - 80w140 or lightweight shockproof which is a 30w-140 also can use 80w-90 as a cheaper option but only for street use as the viscosity range is shorter than 80w-140 R34 LSD (rear diff) - 80w-140 or 75w-140 If you have a helical diff you should use only 75w-90 R34 Front open diff - 80w140 or lightweight shockproof which is a 30w-140 also can use 80w-90 as a cheaper option but only for street use as the viscosity range is shorter than 80w-140 Hope this clears all oil questions -
Transfer Case / Front Diff Knock
central coast person replied to CeJay's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not sure but i have a r33 GTS-4 and it will do this aswell. Mine doees it the second i release the acceletrator and ussual only ever in first or second. Im going too be looking into mounts and bushings before anything like the shafts These are the 4WD codes you are reciving from the attessa system 8 ABS actuator motor, motor relay or circuit 9 ABS actuator relay or circuit 18 ETS pressure switch or circuit -
there are 2 rubber stoppers attached too the boot lid (just like on the radiator support for a bonnet) these rubber stoppers are adjustable like the bonnet ones by just spinning them with your fingers. They are for adjusting your boot up and down from the rear and my guess is your boot is too low and getting some viabration. Try losening them to get some more pressure Give Erwin at Skyline spares in Sydney a call, he would seperate one from a boot fr you because hes kind enought to seperate top tanks from radiators on request
