  1. thanks guys Its done now. dam the lines were hard to get off....... haha
  2. Hey guys I'm about to change my fuel filter is there anything I need to know first or is it just pull out the old one and in with the new? Should I be worried about the possibility of making a air pocket in the fuel line? or will it sort it "self out" so to speak? Thanks guys
  3. ok I'm going to put a new fuel filter in and put on another afm and back to the dyno. can anyone think of anything else I should check before doing this?
  4. I can get a afm but I don't think I'll be able to get a reg. I'll look into it. Thanks
  5. bp 98 octane maybe I've just had a bad batch in the last few tanks. but if it was the afm then wouldnt it be lean all the way? or up and down? I don't think it is the ecu cause as far as I know Its never run lean untill now! unless its always had a lean spot hit R&R and thats why its always run so rich up top. I'll check out the fuel filter and pump voltage first a guess.
  6. I have no idea on the pump. The stock one died not long after I got the car and I had it replaced though warranty. The mechanic just said he had a high flow one lying around so he put that in. I was told it was band new. I’ll see if I can get a mate around with a multi meter and fuel pressure gauge. What should the pressure be? I think it was around 42psi last time I checked at idol. Apart from the lean patch coming on boost the a/f mix was the same as all my other dyno runs, would that count out the afm? Also what do you think would be the best way to check for internal damage? Leak down test? Thanks guys
  7. no sorry never got it printed out. The car does not fart, bang or kick or anything it would just all of a sudden make this kinda rattle/tapping noise under heavy load. I was hearing this noise on and off as i gassed it, so i did an oil change and had it put on the dyno.. on the dyno we got it leaning out from what a understand just a little say 13-13.4 a/f mix spike between 3-4000rpms just after or as it came on boost. it would start to richen up, say move from 15:1 just holding 3000rpms to 12:1 once the foot went down then back to 13.4:1 for a sec and drop right down to 10.5:1 af mix. now on the dyno i did not hear any strange noise the dyno operator said he heard it ping a few times just briefly. I was just watching the a/f mix. he then told me that when ever i'm driving around and giving it a bit it'll could be doing damage? so i'm like well how can i stop this. will i be able to hear if it leans out? thanks guys
  8. just what these guys have said. if you want to do it right it can be a few dollars. once you do the turbo you'll need to do things like ecu, clutch, afm, injectors, fuel pump and cooler to really get the the most out of it. but it comes down to the power you want. you could get around 180-200rwkw with a cooler, exhuast, boost controller and safc.
  9. hhmmm maybe the fuel seems to get there just not fast enough at the start
  10. also my timing was out it was down 1 deg? but I think that would give me less chance for a leanout so i left it.
  11. Hey guys I’m having some trouble with my car (r33) at the moment. When coming on boost hard it pings! On the dyno putting the hammer down from 2000rpms it runs fine most times However. Putting the hammer down from 3000rpms and upwards, when it shoots straight on to boost its leaning out for a few seconds. As far as I know it has not always done this, As I’ve never heard it ping before and its always ran rich. What should I be checking out? The dyno operator thinks it’s the jap tuned ecu (re-mapped stock ecu). I think if that was the case it would have always had this problem! I have turned down the gain and boost on the boost controller (greddy pro fec b) and recently changed the o2 senor. I have just put in new spark plugs and oil. I’m thinking clogged fuel filter maybe? Where else should I be looking. I also cleaned the afm which had a fair bit of crap in it. but it didn't help out Mods I have if this helps. Exhaust turbo back 3 inch Front mount Cooler 600x300 And high flow fuel pump Stock turbo running stage 1 9psi and s2 12psi its ping’d on both these levels of boost. although top end boost is always the same as it drops to 9-10psi Thanks Russ
  12. my 200rwkw skyline beat a 230-240rwkw clubby two weeks ago, and i bet he had more torque. you'll have no trouble with a gt2835 and a good tune.
  13. Hey guys I'm looking for a gt2835 pro s turbo kit does anyone know where I can get one from? I can't find kits just the turbo its self. or a turbo kit that will give the same performance. mods I have fuel pump exhuast cooler next step gt2835pro s z32 afm injectors (maybe) new re-map Cheers
  14. I have two skylines in my driveway and one sit on -20inhg and the other at -16-18ish inhg, the second one has a front mount! would that have any effect on the vac? I have checked it for leaks like 20 times. and came up with nothing, I hope that it does'nt mean the engine has less compression? would it? Sweet it was just my gauge!!!!!
  15. boost is at 5psi untill 45000rpms then 7psi.
  16. after you put the lock bar in be sure to get a wheel alignment, my hicas light is on but I got used to it pretty fast so I've just left it to shine!!
  17. ok my girlfriends car did two long flashes, one small one and then 10 fast ones ? what the???? its a series two r33
  18. I think my ecu has been done already will that make it cheaper to do again? Cheers
  19. good I wanna know this to.... so what is a remap worth?
  20. this has been a very good read and made me also want a gt2835? cheers guys
  21. hell I'll buy ya old turbo for $400......
  22. Hey guys, I've been doing some searching around and just thought I'd ask what things most of you get done at the 100,000k mark. I'm booking in the service and just wanted to know what I should and shouldn't be paying for? and whats really worth doing? Thanks guys Russ
  23. I think all skylines with stock ecu's do it once you add boost, thats why so many people get s-afc's to get that extra power, mine runs down to 10.5ish on full throttle!! although I haven't run it again after putting in a new 02 sensor. but I wouldn't stress about it mate
  24. IT'll be water on you pod filter. I have had the same problem I put a box over the pod and havent had it since!
