  1. Sydneykid yes i do agree with you 100% on that . but why do HKS tell garrett how they want there turbo's set up as in compressor design and housing design's?? ppl cant ring garrett and ask for HKS spec turbo's because HKS dont want ppl not paying for all the R&D that HKS have been thru.. has try09 ever ran with a hks turbo on it to see if there is any difference over the quarter?? the GARRETT turbo may work very well for that application and it has been proven with the times sheet but the car has only run 1 brand of turbo.. the HKS may offer a better torque range then the GARRETT because of the difference in the design of the turbo but it has not been tested.. what is the GARRETT like to drive on the street?? it may not perform as well as it does on the mile as what it does on the street .. i dont know and the owner/builder may not know that aswell. i dont work for either companies so i dont have enough info to be able to back me up this enquiry..
  2. just goes to show how out of touch i am with things..
  3. yes that is correct i found it in the lastest target brouchure.. i dont know if anybody else has seen it but i thought i will post it up anyway.. L8R
  4. try putting in more positive camber so that when the rear of the car squats under hard acceleration there is more tire contact on the road then now with the standard settings.. i am not sure what the camber setting are on a lowered 33 or standard height car but when they get lowered the rear camber will go higher into the negative setting then there should be.. even a 1/2 to 3/4 positive camber change will not effect tire wear..anything above 1 degree will .. or just go to a solid rear end then all your problems will be solved.. hehe go the 31's
  5. is the rb25det a series 1 or series 2 motor?? series 1 have a igniter pack on the back or the coil cover . series 2 motors have the igniter in the coils themself's or in the comp.. you may have to get a igniter pack or module to fire the coils..
  6. ok cool yeah carby cleaner does make wonders so try it then see if you notice a difference..
  7. i'm deffinetely not going to waste my money on australian made gear as HKS have spent a shit load more on R&D then any australian turbo manufacturer.. HKS for me .. yes i know they are pricy but you get what you pay for and that is quality and performance..
  8. maxim what is you vehicle ?? because if it is a series 1 rb25det they have weak coils in them and sometime when they are trying to fire iridium spark plugs they dont work to well because of the lower grade coil. if it is a series2 rb25det then you should have no problems running iridium plugs.. get some carby cleaner and give the coils a good clean with the cleaner , outside and up inside where the plug contacts the spring of the coil.. if you have something different then ignore the different series of coils info..

  15. one thing i cant stand is when a vl driver will drive past you and yell out that nissan's suck but correct me if im wrong dont they have a NISSAN RB30E motor installed in them??? why are they so pathetic in knowing about there own vehicles history and understand that the motor in there car is made by the manufacturer that they are ripping off?? go figure.
  16. if you have oil in the water that usually means that you have cracked the head, and if you have water in the oil then it can be a head gasket .. you can try and take out each spark plug and have a look at the tops of the pistons to see if any of them have a shiny brownish surface or a rich blackish surface . if they are blackish then that cylinder is ok but if the piston is shinny then that is the piston the water is leaking in to . the water will turn to steam with the heat produced and then the steam burns of all the carbon in the cylinder and on top of the piston.. you say that you are having rough idle problems which does indicate head gasket.. get some one to thoroughly check it out as you dont want to install the cooler and turbs and have more problems hope this helps L8R
