all i got from this thread was issues mostly in the forsale section, people paying money to be able to edit, edit function only working for first 2 hours, mods working on a situation, report edit to mods, and the 2 months this thread has been going??? just wanting to know if there is somewhere that explains, by a mod, what has happened to the edit function and what is the options being looked at? rather than 5 pages of random requests and no real answers to everyones questions and requirements for needing to use the edit function. cheers, Matt.. HAHAHA edit button seems to be working maybe its the 2 hour rule........

is there any differences between a S1 rb25det CAS and one from a silver top rb20det? i've just noticed that i put the wrong CAS on to my rb25, i've used the one off my rb20, its been in place for almost 2 years now and i have had no issues but was just wanting to know if i should put the correct one back in?? cheers, Matt...

welcome, you do know that you have one of the rarest r30's around, the 4door PNV (paul newman version) was made in very limited numbers. there is one here on the gold coast but i haven't seen it around for a long time. yeah the ECU is the computer and unless you can get one from another r30 with the L20et engine it will not work. good luck with it and hope to see some pic's on here soon. -

quick fix for your cat is take it off and take all the stuff in the middle out then put the cat back in onto the exhaust.... it will stop any issues you are having till you can get a new hi flow one. fuel pump - just get one from an r33 turbo model should cost you next to nothing.. -

i think this bloke posted on the r31 forum in a r30 pics thread about 3-4 months ago, the car just looks fimilar with the hub caps, had a large rear "drift" wing.... someone my remember it. if thats not the same person then i'm sorry for getting you mixed up with this seller. -
yeah it was a shock, whats more that is from the back half of the cat, the front is fine not even scorched. engine runs stock boost, i have a full 3" exhaust, FMIC, 040 fuel pump, pod, i also run a nismo thermostat and larger engine oil cooler to keep temp down. i haven't even over rev'd it, peek rpm is showing as 7100rpm. i even had a thought about the fuel pressure reg, with the new pump, my have given up??

the exhaust was blocked enough to push out a kiwi fruit sized bit of cat.. i havn't taken out the CAS to look but i will tomorrow. i've removed the cat so that all that is left is just the front pipe. trying to narrow down the could be's

the CAS seems fine but i might check the timing belt to see if it may have jumped a tooth when the cat got spat out (pressure build up??)

i have this issue with the car at the moment, last week i spat the cat out the exhaust, got the car home, just, as it was stalling, got it started the next day drove it round the block, seemed fine, then it just stopped. didn't get it started again. towed it home and thats where it has stayed for the last week. what i have now is it will fire for a second or so every once and awhile, i swapped out the fuel filter and plugs today, it fired up for about 30 seconds than just stopped. i've had the ecu go before which gave similar simptoms (turning over but not firing) but this time it will fire every once and a while. i've looked at the turbo and its fine, i've checked the wiring and earths seem ok. i have disconnected the exhaust from the front pipe so there is no blockage from the dead cat. a mate is lending me his ECU and ignitor tuesday night to see if that fixes it but wanted to know if anyone would have a clue as to what is going on?? the engine is an rb25det S1 (i think) matching r33 auto box, this has been fitted in my r31 for the last month, was in my other r31 for 18 months before this. i have had the fuel pump replaced at the same time the engine went in. cheers, Matt

Hr31 Coupe Coil Pack Question

i'm also not sure about the r33 S2 & r34 coil packs as they have the ignitor as a part of the pack... don't know how if that would work with the red top ignitor. i'm not 100% on this one either but there may also be a difference between the early red top coil packs and the ECCS version. look in the tech section at www.r31skylineclub.com to get a 100% correct answer. -

VL's don't have coil packs, they have A coil?? -
my ecu died (water and bad wiring choice on my part). firstly S1 or S2 rb25det - whats the quickest way to tell the difference? ECU's, i'm using an r33 auto box and wanted to know if i need the correct serice ECU to run with the auto box? say if i have a S1 engine do i need a S1 auto ECU or can i use a S1 manual ECU? cheers, Matt..

seemed like the simplest fix at the time, i did the rb20det silver top conversion 4 years ago now and at that time it was hard enough to find someone to wire up the engine let alone the tacho. -

there would be a resistor required to get the signal, i ended up getting a monster tacho in the end. have a look in the r31skyline forum in a few days (website down for a few days at the moment) as they have info on getting the tacho working with rb20/25 conversions -
rb30 belt from memory but this was 2 years ago now, i have the change out the pump soon as it seems to be leaking so i can compare the belt to an rb30 one i have here.

what gear box did you use?? the speed sensor is in that and if you used the matching box for the rb20 then it should already get the speed signal to the ECU? the was also a work shop in SA Jaustech that did this conversion years ago they might have the info you are after. -
i run an rb30 pump mounted to my rb25 in the r31, if you are running an rb in your r30 then you should have no problem mounting the r31 pump, maybe look at adapting the r31 main cross member the engine sits on (forgot what its called) to fit the r30...
