may be they should start sending cameras out with booze buses, start putting drunk drives on TV... start saving lives that way, they could run a whole 1/2 hour show each week from just one nights footage with a booze bus..
-
they seem to take a few liberties when it cames to plactic model kits

got to love the 31's...

R31 Skyline/pintara Crossmembers.
rsx84 replied to big bumpy's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
a mate had a pinny with a 25 box in it so the trans tunnel must be pretty close to the skyline. you would be better off getting a skyline if your just going to put in a rb30 anyway, there 2 on ebay for less than $500... -
the filters suck air rather then have air forced into them, the scopes are more so the engine sucks colder air from in front of the engine/ radiator. if you have the filters not blocked off from the engine bay than you will be sucking in hot air from the engine bay, if the filters are not blocked off start there, some heat sheilding then be-pending on your thoughts you could set a CAI pipe from a front vent in your bar using 3" flexi hose or cut a hole in the body under where your air box sat (should be directly below where your filters sit now). you could set up a scope through the bonnet above the filters, a reverse scope, so to speck, so the air pushed through the front bar into the sectioned off filters is then sucked out the scope above your filters leaving a constant flow of cold air going passed the filters.

there was a GT-R clone from the US featured in that mag, may have been refering to that... excellent work on the restore..

that looks very interesting?? there was a home made one in NZ that ended up being scrapped, i got the tail lights from it. that one at a 4,00,000 yen price tag may be real and looking at that centre bar?? interesting..... genisis would be the people to ask... www.r30.co.jp

just look at the first images of the GTR concept, end product was fairly different...

i'll be doing an engine swap soon as its still bolt on but i'd have to trim around the head light to put in the cooler piping in the way i want it, thats what has held up the swap so far umming and arrhing...
-
my ideas behind modding mine was more along the lines of bolt on parts, all the work i have done is reversible. all parts removed are stored as i have no need to sell them. i like the interior and love the colour, kit is perfect...
-
i fit my 17" x 8" +22 buddy clubs on the HR30, they fit fine, plenty of space at the rear for wider rims too...
-
i've got a mini in my GXE and the whine is still there... it runs an rb25det and 4:11 ratio
-
even re-built diff's still have the whine. i don't even know that if you replace the diff with an after market one, Kaas or something like that, if it will help. mind you I have had a theory for a while now that the whine may have something to do with the balancer (forgot what its called) in the centre of the 2 piece tail shaft, i had one crap out on me and the noise was the same just 10x the volume.. the only solution to this theory is a custom 1 piece tail shaft..
-
diff whine is common in all aus r31's central locking would be dead motors in the rear doors, don't know about replacements unless second hand from a GXE is fine with you.... $70 i went to a remote aftermarket locking kit. steer rack is a 19 year old item and unless you know it has been rebuilt at some point think of the last time it was looked at was just before it left the factory, you can find them on ebay or the local wreckers. with the speedo does the odometer still work?? if not then the little cog would have fallen apart and bits of it may be interfering with the speed function...

there is no way to mount extra injectors on an stock rb30 unless you drill into the manifold..... notice he said "custom plenum"
-
these are the problems you face when your a dyslexic car modifier
-
i'm in labrador, i mostly cruise with the R31 club just cause they have regular meets, getting something going on the coast would be good..
-
as you might be able to tell i have already done this to my GTS2, i used HSD HR S-13 coilovers, S-13 hubs, brought a set of S-13 5-stud hubs from "justjap", i also used s-13 tie rod ends with adaptors i got from the r31 forum (i used s-13 lower control arms which are longer then the r31 arms so the r31 tie rod ends were too short to safely use) i went to the r32 4 pot callipars & rotors. the rears i had 2" adaptor plates made to mount the coilovers, got the r31 rear axles filled and re-drilled to 5-stud by an engineering place here on the gold coast $300 with brand new longer studs installed and the rotors re-drilled to 5-stud.

pic's or ban... fu%k it just Ban..

you do have a big imagination: an rb30 has no allowance for extra injectors, the head/manifold (been a long time since i've had to pull on apart) only has 6 x injectors slots (for lack of a better word) and there would be no real reason to try to set up a twin injector thing unless you had crazy money and couldn't think of a better way to waste it. if you want more fuel because you are adding a large turbo then look into GTR or VL turbo injectors or even aftermarket items.
-
that would have to be a weight saving thing......or a factory fix mitzishitty
-
so close, i used s-13 HSD HR coilovers with s-13 hub carriers with 5stud conversion hubs from justjap on the front... it's only after you buy all the bits that someone tells you you can use s-14 hubs......
-
have a look at www.r31skylineclub.com you would have better luck getting help for this kind of info
-
should have no problems if you run a tunable ECU, new injectors , dyno time and move the AFM..... i'd say 4000-4500 rpm for full boost with the larger exhaust... do it right rather than just bolting on a big turbo as you will more than likely lean out the engine then you are looking for a new one. maybe add some heat sheild under the bonnet above the turbo as your bonnet is going to get very hot.. HEHEHEH looking good though
-
took ages to get the L20 turbo manifold off when the engine was out of the car let alone if it was in.... rb FTW
