The other week I noticed one of the belts was abit mauled up. Im taking my car up the coast (6 1/2 hour drive) tomorrow night and am wondering if the belt in question is going to be a major deal if it snaps. I was wondering if someone could tell me what its for? (Please say AC or something i can live without for a couple days) Anyway here are the pics thanks guys

Got sub + amp installed about 2-3 weeks ago and it was working fine until I turned my stereo on one day and noticed the sub is no longer doing its thing. All the other speakers and working fine, not sure if power to the amp has stopped or not. Checked the fuse on the amp, it seemed fine. I have pretty much no car audio skills so im kinda stumped.

Hmm, fast as it may be, im still waiting to see the Bugatti Veyron Police car. Quad turbo, W16. 1000 HP. Electronicly speed limited to 408km/h Oh and it will do 0-200 in like...8 seconds. Crazy fast.

Err wtf...Turbo 33 full comp for $1,250? Thats insane! I paid $3,400, 19, turbo 33 and perfect driving history. I guess the 16-21 bracket really is far more likely to crash... Wish I was paying what you are.

To be honest I think if the cat was cooking you would have other, more serious issues as well.

I still have my heatshield in my boot. A couple of wires ran close to the turbo but I just relocated them. I tried to put the shield back on but some of the bolts just wouldnt budge so I didnt bother. That was a couple months ago now and thus far no issues.

Im with the buy a barina option. The cost and effort involved in de-turbo ing your car would be huge, especially considering that what your planing to do would kill the resale value. If you REALLY want them to be driving a skyline, Sell your turbo one and buy an NA one. The result would be a legally NA car and possibly some money in your favour, oposed to hacking yours apart, having a possibly illegal NA car and being out thousands of dollars.

I was very close to getting a 180sx, ended up getting a Series 1 R33 gtst. The reasoning was that because skylines are more common, i figured if I pranged it, spare parts and what not would be easier to source for the 'line. Having said that I don't know if its true or not. But anyway, just take a few different cars for a test drive. R33's aren't slow by any means, in terms of sports cars they are on the heavier side but they aren't THAT heavy. Besides, as stated, the 2.5L turbo 6 more than makes up for the weight

n00b question but is axel tramp the RWD equivlent of torque steer in FWD's? Like, when booting it in first the rear has a tendency to shuffle around?

When did you get your P's? Im in NSW, still on my Red's but can legally drive my GTST, V8's etc. If you got your licence before July 1 2005 your fine to drive anything. (I think thats the date anyway)

Dunno about the ticking but ive heard of people putting steel wool in their exhaust to pass noise tests. The previous owner could have done that. Do you have a long pair of BBQ tongs? how far in is it?

No light on the dash. Theres 2 wires (the plug ends are still intact, they just need to be plugged into something) One, with a white end I think, comes directly from the seat belt buckle and isnt plugged into anything. Another wire comes out from under the carpet under the seat, and I think has a brown end. I tried plugging the white into the brown but they dont match so they are 2 different things.

So the other day when cleaning my car I noticed wires with loose ends under the drivers and passenger seats. Under the drivers seat, one comes from the seatbelt unit, the other comes from under the carpet, from who knows where. Someone on here said its for the warning light, but also possibly for the pre tensioners which I believe are a safety thing for crashes? In which case I would rather like to know where Im meant to plug all these wires into.

Good question, I too noticed the car was rather sluggish during the heat wave last week. Obviously less performance is to be expected but if a decent intercooler will help this then I know what im getting next.

Theres nothing wrong with the Xforce systems. $950 for turbo back 3" from justjap, then $150 or so to get a shop to fit it for you. I have it on my car, sounds nice and isnt too loud.

But the wires dont seem to be plugged into anything? Just wondering if they should be, i dont think I have ever seen a 'no seatbelt' light on the dash.

Currently have K&N Pod, Full turbo back 3". Car runs very rich, with in a day the tailpipe was all black inside, the car 'pops' alot, backfiring I think (although that may be the atmo BOV) and fuel ecconomy is poor (350-400km a tank) Im wondering if I upped boost to say 10psi, if this would not only give more power but help the car not run so rich. If its worth doing, what is my best option for simply and safely upping boost to 10psi? The cheaper the better. I eventually want to get an FMIC, then get an ECU + dyno tuning but until then im after a simple solution. My second question is this: I was cleaning the interior of my car today and noticed under both the passenger side and drivers side seats theres like a little plastic mini-snorkel type thing, and a couple of wires with ends that obviously plug into something. What on earth are these for?

I think running excess NOS can cause piston rings to fry and floor panels to fall out.......... Im sure that movie was right.......
