  1. Can't remember what size rubber o-ring I used as it was ages ago, but the product name is "Bulk Pack O-Rings Pack of 225"... here's a pretty picture of it I think it might have been the ones in the section 2nd up from the bottom on the right-hand side. BTW the antenna is still going strong, haven't had any problems after doing this so it's a good cheap fix.
  2. lol @ the cops on whitfords ave (just before lights at shopping centre) this evening. They had an undercover falcon hiding in a side street ready to pounce, and a cop with a radar gun lying down on the ground as far away from the main road as possible (but still being able to see cars coming down). Bet that was an expensive night of shopping for a few people Surely the cop isn't allowed to lie down on the ground like that? Didn't see him wearing a yellow vest either... it's antics like this that cause the public to lose respect for the police.
  3. I wonder if they will do their old trick of 3 speed cameras along a 1km stretch of highway heading down south, nothing like multiple double demerit speeding fines and a loss of licence to give people a merry xmas and happy new year!
  4. 11km/h over the limit... OMG YOU HOON! You're lucky you didn't kill yourself or somebody else!* *yes i'm being sarcastic
  5. It is very bad how some undercover police entice people to race, whether at lights or not. It's not bad because the idiot gets busted for it, it's bad because the police are deliberately putting members of the public at risk. That fool would not have raced right there and then if the cop didn't entice them to, and what happens if they are a crap driver or try to outrun the police because they have a warrant/drugs/stolen car/etc? They could then crash into other vehicles, pedestrians or property. All that could be caused by this idiotic action of undercover police enticing people to race. Undercover cops love to tailgate dangerously close aswell, I would love to brake suddenly one day so they rear end me and I could sue them.
  6. What's the average cost you're looking at for coilpacks + installation? My skyline stutters throughout the high boost rev range, and as I have stock boost I doubt it's boost cut. It's not a big problem atm, but it would be better to have smoother power delivery.
  7. It depends on if your licence is suspended or cancelled. If it is suspended you don't need to resit the test, but if it is cancelled you have to resit the learners test and the driving test again (not the hazard perception test & log book though).
  8. Don't know where you read/heard that, but according to the road rules book you are not allowed to exceed the speed limit to overtake. As for radar detectors, mine must be crap because it only detects them like 100m away max (usually less) even when there is no traffic around. Still, a little warning is better then no warning.
  9. Well my temporary fix has turned out to be a permanent fix! Got some rubber o-rings from both clark rubber and bunnings, the one from clark rubber stopped the antenna falling out... but only 1 section would be raised. Tried out the o-ring I got from bunnings and it works perfectly. Stops the last section of the antenna from coming out, so it can be half or fully extended with no problems. Total cost to fix, $2! Gotta be happy with that
  10. This is probably a retarded question, but couldn't you just import one from japan and then get it complied to aus standards?
  11. Ah sweet, I'll have to keep an eye on the for sale forum now. Thanks for your help again! I'll probably head down to clark rubber and see if I can get anything for a temporary fix in the mean time.
  12. Thanks for the offer R33-GTS, but I managed to take out the assembly quite easily using ur little mini-guide. You don't need to remove any panels Impulsive GT, there are two gold screws towards the top corner closest to the back of the boot... those are holding the assembly in place so after removing the jack housing that's what you need to get at (after removing the antenna controller that's held by a single screw). I took the assembly apart and fed the antenna track through properly and put it all back together, put it back on the car and tested it out. The antenna still popped out, so I took the assembly apart again to have a look and it was feeding the track through properly like it should. I think my problem is that the little silver top (on the outside of the car) where the antenna comes out has rubber on the inside, which I think is supposed to stop the last section/rod of the antenna from coming out. The rubber on mine looks a little worn out though so the whole antenna rod comes out. Where can I find R33 wrecks so I can get this part? I've never been to a wreckers before and I wouldn't know which in Perth would most likely have R33 wrecks.
  13. I would fix it myself but I've got no idea how to get to the assembly, my searches on this site and google for any info turned up zilch.
  14. heh my antenna just popped out by itself one day when I started the car. When I tried to put it back in the motor grabbed the track and pulled it down, but doesn't seem to grab enough or pull it down far enough as the antenna is still unstable and falls over pretty easily. So for nearly a year now the antenna has been in the shed and I just listen to my CDs as the radio is always crap. Anybody know where I can get it fixed NOR for a relatively cheap price? I never bothered getting it fixed before because I thought it would be ridiculously expensive, but by the sound of these posts it shouldn't be... although I've got to pay rego soon
  15. Don't forget you need to pay for insurance + rego aswell.
  16. Dunno if you can do it on the one xbox, I was playing co-op on xbox live.
  17. lol @ the holden sticker, that's pretty damn funny! I can't believe all the skylines parked in nb on the weekends, I would never be able to leave my car in such a place with all the idiots there. Although hopefully if someone was dumb enough to do something other decent people would see it and make them pay for it! If I'm going on a night out with some mates I will always try to get somebody else to drive or let me drive their car because this kind of stuff happens all the time. Worse is when it's a bogan who has done it simply because your car isn't a ford or holden... they're adults ffs grow up! My other pet peeve is shopping centres, I always park as far away as possible as the majority of people who go there (mums with kids, ditzy chicks) don't know how to get out of a car without banging the door to the car parked next to them. Some of them don't even know how to get in/out of a parking spot without banging their car with the one parked next to them!
  18. Autoworx is horrible.... they are too friendly and are too good at their job that I have to keep coming back to them! Bought my car from them last year, and I get it serviced by them and it hasn't skipped a beat!
  19. hahaha XBW is the best skyline pete
  20. Ah ok, shows how much I follow motoring news hahaha.
  21. I don't know how you could lose it like that overtaking at the speed limit, unless you dropped down a gear and planted your foot flat to the floor on wet roads... which is just silly. I never use full throttle on wet roads unless I want to do something silly lol even then it doesn't even take full throttle to step it out, you really need to be careful on wet roads! Glad you're okay though, as that's the most important thing as cars are easily replaced. Hopefully you'll learn from this experience and have more respect for performance vehicles and road conditions. The car doesn't look to be in that bad of a condition considering your description of what happened! Next time get insurance! If you had hit someone else's car you'd be in so much strife... at least get third party no matter what car you drive.
  22. Would be good if there was an actual new GTR on the cruise! Anybody know of someone fortunate enough to get their hands on one that would come along?
  23. Yeah play-asia easily has the cheapest prices for region free games, they're usually around $65 including shipping for brand new releases! They sometimes have sales on, and every time you buy something from them you get a US $5 off coupon code that you can use on your next purchase over US $50. What they do though is sell each game at US $49.90 so you can't use the coupon for just one game, but the trick is to order some cheap candy with the game to bump it up just over the US $50 mark. They list the region compatibility for each game, so you know the game will work on your console if there is a green tick next to PAL. You can even browse by region-free games here, so you know that all games listed will work on your console. dvdcrave is an australian site that sometimes has decent prices for games that aren't region free with the bonus of fast delivery.
  24. The single player campaign was good but it could have been longer and I found it hard to follow the storyline as the transition from one level to another was non-existent, you just jumped from one location to the next. Definitely felt like they rushed the story along, could have done with some more levels to help fill it out more evenly. The graphics are good, but they're not great... gears of war is still the king of graphics. The multiplayer is awesome, but you can't search for co-op or custom games! You have to rely on your friends list if you want to join these types of games which is a real pain in the arse. Good game overall, but it's not the best game on the 360 as a lot of fanboys would have you believe. It is worth the $80 I paid for it at Target though, as 4 player co-op on legendary is the bomb. Looking forward to Project Gotham Racing 4 on October 11th (or 12th I forget which one), that is going to be the ducks nuts!
