  1. Well if the damage (to both cars) is over $1000 you're legally supposed to report it to the police. Standard procedure is to ring up your insurance company and tell them what happened and they'll sort it out. You can always go around the insurance company and try to get the other person to pay for your repair but this rarely ends well and isn't worth the hassle.
  2. Anybody who believes a today tonight story could be the slightest bit factual needs to visit a doctor and get their head taken out of their arse. I saw it and thought it was pretty funny, especially the cop browsing youtube to try and convict people lol. Replaying street drifting videos from japan every 2 seconds surely must have been the idea of some new student who has just posted their enrolment forms for a media course. Dont bother complaining to today tonight, they won't give a sh*t and will continue to air bogus stories to their target audience of old senile gullible people. I'd suggest emailing the chaser's war on everything about it if you want to attempt to get any sort of positive resolution, they love ripping the shit out of today tonight and ACA.
  3. Was a good cruise, must have made a lot of money for the starlight foundation judging by how many people came out! The leg from omni to freo was good, apart from the sneaky police with their handheld radar along the route (could see them from a mile away though so np for me there). Then the weather came down, which was fun and with all the fog around made it very spooky especially on those mountain turns... I kept waiting for some local wildlife to pop out of nowhere. Great job at organising this cruise guys (and gals)! Glad to see people actually behaved for once at the meetpoints. p.s. lol @ the girls in the white 4 door r33 who went past the pub leading people astray, I wonder how far you would have kept going if we didn't stop you dw though you weren't the only ones to get lost
  4. It's never going to finish! I'll be going if I can con a mate into coming with me to navigate
  5. Nah there wasn't and a search of the forums turned up next to nothing. Yellow pages had heaps of them in wangara so I wanted recommendations to help me choose. I've gone with north coast auto electrics, they had the biggest ad with pretty colours lol
  6. Can anybody recommend a good and cheap auto electrician NOR around the wangara area (or others close to it)? I think my starter motor is stuffed
  7. Well I recharged the battery, it started up fine the first time then I went to start it about 30 mins later and it struggled to start. Left it overnight and it wouldn't start up, it was trying to crank for a second or two but then I just got the fast clicking noise. So I recharged the battery again and it wouldnt even start up the first time, engine sounded like it was trying to crank, failed, then fast clicking noise. If I try to start it again it doesn't even try to crank, just the fast clicking noise. I don't have a multimeter to measure the battery unfortunately Seems like a starter motor problem to me, I think I'm just going to have to shell out $$$ I don't have to get an auto electrician to come out and fix the problem.
  8. Been having battery troubles ever since I bought my R33. I had issues with the first battery (wouldn't start after a few days of not using the car), so I installed a new battery about 3-4 months ago. Now the new battery is just starting to do the same even though I drive the car at least two times a week. Infact, the first time the new battery wouldn't start was the day after having used the car for a good two hours. All the interior/exterior lights, radio, alarm, etc still work it's just that there doesn't seem to be enough juice left to start the car. It will start fine with a jump start, then after a drive start again on its own but the next day I have to jump start it again. I'm baffled as to what the problem is, because since getting the new battery it's started up every time without a problem for over 3 months which would lead me to believe that it isnt a problem with the alternator, start motor or the battery. So I'm thinking there must be something very slowly draining the battery, and that the battery is at a low charge now as a result so that's why it is dying so often, even after jump starting and driving for a while. Is there any relatively easy way to find out what is causing the battery to drain without knowing much about electronics? I'm going to buy a battery charger tomorrow and hope that fixes the problem for a few months, but it would be good to get the problem permanently fixed. I swear I have the worst luck with car batteries, my old car's battery did the same thing although after the second battery I found out it was the stereo headunit causing the problem so I just took that out to fix it.
  9. Sounds like it will be a great cruise, I'll definitely try to make it. Even better that it's for charity
  10. lol the sirens weren't dubbed in, the cops were just putting on a little show I was there watching! It was a really good turnout of cars that night it had everything from muscle, import, luxury (that bentley omg!), hotrods, etc. Such a shame that a bunch of idiots didn't leave their shenanigans elsewhere and ruined a good night, turning what would have been one of if not the best perth cruises into a police lockdown which led to the media labelling EVERYBODY there as hoons (sensationalistic pricks) so the general public has more reason to hate us. Still, the police were informed of the event beforehand and should have done their job properly by fining/arresting those doing burnouts (some of which they did) instead of harassing everybody else who did nothing wrong by inspecting every vehicle for 3-4 hours ruining the night. The burnouts are cool, but it definitely was not the place to do it... especially with all the people around. lol @ the dumb ones standing right infront of the cars...
  11. Cruises during double demerits, done it once before and wouldn't wanna do it again lol hope it was a good one regardless though!
  12. wow those are awesome shots! looks like something you'd see while watching top gear, similar style (especially the colours). Good stuff!
  13. Would be funny if it wasnt true
  14. Well I didn't know someone threw a bottle at the cops, that explains a lot. I was expecting police and the possibility of a yellow sticker, but I wasnt expecting a freakin road block! The cops should of handled it better by targeting those doing burnouts and being disorderly (probably about 10% of the people there), rather than punish everybody there. Getting licence plate numbers of people doing burnouts and stopping those cars at the road block would have made a better night for everybody.. as well as on the spot drinking fines (which i'm sure would have made for less trouble). Needless to say I won't be going on any of these huge cruises again after this experience which really sucks.
  15. will there be maps or is it a case of the blind leading the blind? ... even though that happens a lot when there are maps
  16. Surely clearly visible marked police cars deter people from speeding (and other crimes) then the next to non-existent fear of an undercover cop car being around. They should be spending the money on more marked cars if they really want to stop speeding, instead of wanting to increase revenue from speeding fines. oh btw had a marked police car following behind me (changing lanes and all) for about 10 mins the other day and a commodore went past in the right lane at around 95km in a 70km zone and the cops just continue to follow me... good to see they're doing their job
  17. Well this is great news. The only reason I went to BP was because they were the only ones who had it, now that peak and caltex do i'll be able to shop around. Sure i'll probably only save a few cents each time I fill up, but it's more about the principal (and the fact that I hate BP because they are always more expensive and bump up their prices randomly with no valid justification for doing so except to rip people off)
  18. Well you'll love this then lol gotta be the worst colour ever... looks like something you'd see on fast and the furious (gone in 60 seconds forever!) Before: After: And yes i'll stop now hahaha
  19. I was bored so I started playing around in photoshop and ended up with this... thought I might as well share it Before: After: The radial blur is probably a little excessive but I like it! And yes those pictures are huge, I couldn't be stuffed resizing them
  20. What were the police like on the last cruise? Randomly pulling over people for nothing or just the ones that were up to mischief? The only thing I don't like about big cruises is the unwanted police attention and the amount of idiots it attracts... that and traffic lights argh!
  21. That's really f**ked up if they can take a car away and forfeit it to the crown after 3 offences in a 5 year period under the hoon law. What if its somebody elses car when they commit the third offence? Hopefully somebody in court contests and proves it isnt legal, cause that's just not right! This bloke doesn't deserve his car to be taken away, he deserves a longer stay in ass pounding prison for trying to run over a cop! btw I hate the hoon law. It's abused so much, as already said it's mainly used as an excuse to pull over vehicles (anything modified or anything with a P plate on it, or even both!) so they can try slapping a yellow sticker on.
  22. Isnt it illegal to have those sticky plush dolls on your car windows? tsk tsk
  23. Was my first cruise and it was pretty good! The lights straight out of city west were a pain in the arse though. The blue 33 GTR was awesome and that random 4wd was bloody quick, so was the VL wagon, could only smell its rubber the whole time lol. HQ looked sweet too. I was in a white 33 gtst (with silver rims and sunroof, not that it makes it indistinguishible from the rest ), leading people astray when they foolishly followed me thinking I knew where I was going. I had to bail at karryinup because of work but glad I did because when I got onto the freeway there were some bikes popping wheelies at high speeds, exchanged thumbs up ofcourse Glad I had a radar detector to keep up with the cruise hahaha
  24. I might come along (at least for some of it) depending on the whole work thing, if I do it'll be my first cruise so go easy on me lol!
  25. How come this hasn't been in the news? Very strange... God damn I hate the police here, they spend more time and money policing petty stuff like hoons doing loud burnouts wasting $$$ on undercover ricecops instead of putting more resources into policing domestic voilence, burglary, etc. And you hardly ever see the money raised by these fines going into roadworks and blackspots, instead they spend it on next to useless million dollar ad campaigns, more radar detectors, etc. Another thing that annoys me are the speed limits on major roads that are obviously built well enough to have faster speeds. 80km highways? LOL such a bloody joke, no wonder why rush hour traffic is so terrible (not to mention the lack of lanes on the freeway). Oh and I agree with accidents being caused by speed cameras, not only are people not paying attention to the road because they are too focused on their speedometer so they dont get a fine, but sometimes if people are over the limit (even by 10km/h) and see a speed camera the panic, suddenly slam on and lock up their brakes, causing the car behind them to crash into the back or cause their car to go off the road and into a wall (i've seen it happen before). Anyway, I'll definitely be saving up my money to get a radar detector now... (or go the cheaper way, start destroying all multinovas I see so that they have none left to use LOL).
