Here`s the Endless BNR34 race car.

Hi, I am heading to Osaka Auto Messe tomorrow. I`m just wondering if anyone is planning to go. I`ll be there from about 9:30am, but I have no keitai, so I dont know how I can arrange a meeting on the day. But I thought I`d just give a shout out on the off chance anyone here is going. I`m going alone. Michael.

Volk Evolution 4

Sorry to all I have not got back to about these wheels. I have had more enquiry than I thought I would. But, they are still available... -
A set of Volk Racing Evolution 4 17x8 inch wheels with 225/45 tyres travelled about 2200kms. These wheels are on my R34 at the moment. They have no scuffs, only one slight mark and slight corrosion on inside spoke of two wheels. Extra centre cap. I'm having technical difficulties uploading pics and I can only upload these particular pics below. Please PM with your email address an I'll email some more if interested. This link I googled has pic of them. http://my.is/forums/f90/volk-evo-4s-car-353548/ Price $1500. Phone Michael on 0419 006 252.

Thanks Chris! I have sorted it out now and the signal is as it should be. I remember that extra wire but took the writing on the tag of the wire literally. Since leaving Japan, my excellent understanding of japlish has started to fade. I read the label アンテナアプ (antena apu) and thought it was to hoist an antena, but I knew the car didnt have one so thats why I ignored it. アンテナアプ really means to give more a powerful signal for the antenna. Thanks again.

Well I just plugged in what seemed to be the right cable. What I mean is, the only connection that I could see was the antenna which led to an adaptor of some kind ( a 2 pin female that splits into 2 male plugs - one the same as the antenna jack on the head unit and the other is smaller and I left it alone. Have I gone wrong here, Chris? I might need to have a look and examine exactly what other wires are back there...? Michael.

Hi, I recently replaced my stereo head unit. The radio signal comes on strong and weak in waves, and the volume needs to higher than CD and Aux as well. Is it just a poor quality tuner? Any advice/suggestions would be nice, Michael.

Hello, My car was fitted with Xenons but the importer converted them to normal for registration. I need to know how to rewire them. Has anyone done this before? I would really like a PM from you... PS. I think I have all the orignal gear in a cardboard box - module, globes and some wiring. Thank you.

Hi, I'm after stock R34 GTR wheels for my ER34 GT-T. The car currently has a set of Volk Racing Evolution 4 17 inch wheels with 225/45 tyres with near new tread. I would ideally trade these, but if this is not an option I am happy to discuss purchasing your GTR wheels. Please PM or phone me on 0419 006 252. Michael.

Maybe next weekend I'll have pics. Its just a matter of getting to the lab in Richmond.

Japanese Aftermarket Radio Conversion
R-sanichi replied to R-sanichi's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
That might be what I resort to. But, I like to explore the options first. $15 vs $200 is quite a few cases of beer in difference... If is not even worth expanding the frequency, I'm not gonna be bothered doing a half-arsed job, and will just replace the unit. I hope I can still use the dvd player as it seems its physically a separate unit. I will checek it out when I actually get the car next week. I'm so excited. -
I'm soon to take ownership of an R34 4 door GT-T. It has a Carrozzeria TV/Sat nav and Radio tuner. Can the radio tuner be converted using one of those $15 devices? Has anyone here done this and willing to give advice? Many thanks, Michael.
-
Thanks mate. I still have a bunch of HR31 stuff at my parents place, so will be compiling a list soon.
-
Just to clarify... Its NOT the factory unit. Its a Carrozzeria unit.
-
Hello, I'm getting an R34 next week! Yep, I gave the company car back to Subaru. My Skyline has a Carrozerria DVD/sat nav/tv unit in addition to the CD/FM/AM tuner. I know that converting the radio tuner is possible, but has anyone done this themselves? I would much appreciate a bit of advice on doing the conversion and what parts to buy. Also, can the TV/Sat Nav be put into use in Aus? Regards, Michael.

This story I read today reminded me of the problems some of my friends experienced. (I didnt cos I went from Nova accommodation then into my fiance's family home (who happend to be a Nova student )) http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fl20081118zg.html I wonder if the Real Estate system will change, given the need for overseas workers? Maybe its just a matter of the employers organising it for the employees. Though, this does not help those people who arrive, and then look for work.

Are you going to stay in Okayama? That's close to where I used to live. FISCO is a long journey from Okayama. I've taken the trip from f*kuyama (an hour west of Okayama) quite a few times. Its a 10 hour trip on bus (overnight)- or if you have lots of money, take a Shinkansen to Tokyo, get to Shinjuku and catch the highway bus to Gottenba (Shinjuku to Gottenba is 90mins I think), and then a 30min bus ride to the circuit. have fun and dont stress!
-
Mike, you must go to Nismo Fest! Its not hard to get there on your own. Catch a highway bus from Shinjuku to Gottenba station. Then walk through the station and line up for the bus to Fuji Speedway. I may be able to find the instructions my wife wrote for me on my first trip there, and copy them to pdf. Alternatively you can catch the train, which I have also done. I cannot remember the stations though.

In regards to the deep and meaningful language, its the stuff thats really old style language, and rarely used, that she says I wont truely feel the meaning of. Things I didnt do? I should have made more of an efffort to get my language to a higher level. That would have allowed me to form stronger relationships with people I'd still like to call friends. It would have also allowed me to get more involved with cars and motorsport (though working at Rally Japan was fine cos they assigned me a translater). Also, I'm yet to purchase an R34, and I wish I had have done so. I passed up a nice Impul version at DR00p, my local tuning shop (f*kuyama - Kasaoka). So I wish I had bought one then. So, they are really just personal goals not reached (which came out of laziness). Akeenan, you've been there a while right? What are you plans (apart from marriage) in Aus? Yeah, right leaving for good? Might be difficult.
