  1. like said, buy a new battery. those fluid type leadcell bateries will die completely if you run them flat. if you dont want to have to worry about that again, spend a bit more money and get a deep cycle, sealed battery, like offered by optima, or odyssey. these can be run flat, and recharged many times, without killing the battery. people get up to 8 years life out of a battery
  2. depends. if its an expensive one, then i wouldnt bother, id be worried about rooting it lol, but if its just a fairly cheapie, then give it a go
  3. noise filters are a bandaid. dont touch them. its just adding unneeded components. basically, get some decent quality sheilded RCAs. spend about 5 bucks a pair. that should get you some nice stinger ones. run them away from any power lines or source that may cause interference. ECUs, any computers etc etc etc. it shouldnt matter where the amp is mounted, but id say the noise will be due to a bad ground somewhere. make sure that the grounds are on bare metal, no paint or anything... make sure they are secure... make sure that any RCAs or speaker cables arent shorting out on anything...
  4. move the box around if possible, and see how you like it the best. it all depends on teh box design, the sub, the amount of power, and the car its in. so try it up against the back seat, facing backs and forwards. try it right up against the back of the car, facing both ways. try it on teh sides of the boot facing inwards... find out what way suits your car best.
  5. alright, so im assumung that when you listening to music, the sub just randomly starts thumping? few things you need to check. 1 make sure that your rcas arent shorting out anywhere. 2. make sure that they are plugged in securely to the headunit, and to the amp 3. make sure that the amp is grounded properly, and is receiving sufficient power 4. ensure that all your speaker cables are secure, and arent shorting out. if this doesnt fix the problem, then take the amp out, and try it in another car. if it still does it, the amp is most likely fuxxord
  6. ^^^ exactly. try swapping the RCAs around so that the left and right channels are swapped. if the same speaker is dim, then check all wiring after the amp. there may be a short somewhere. if swapping them also swaps what speaker is dim, then check with another set of RCAs, as they may be damaged. if this doesnt fix the problem, then there is a good chance that chanel on teh amp is fuxxored
  7. not really a ford 9" diff. its a 9" diff that was originally of fords design. VE commodored actually have double wishbone suspension as well, so thats not a ford based component, and the engines used are actually 5 litres motors based around the holden engines that used to power commodores, albeit heavily modified.... at least holden runs an engine that was actually used in its cars at some stage.. i dont recall ford ever using a 5 litre engine in any of their cars...
  8. personally id say instead of asking for advice on the interwebs, go and talk to a professional lawyer, in person, rather than getting possibly misleading info over the net....
  9. i don't know of this "NE1" you speak of? if however you mean "anyone" than i suggest proper spelling grammar is the key to success
  10. im sorry if i missed it, but did anyone mention that you should probably check your amps grounds??
  11. 4 threads down http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=133729
  12. lol, i spose, its like someone putting a 20B rotary into a commodore or falcon!! man, ive been toying with the idea of putting a V8 in a skyline for YEARS... but now everyone is doing it lol... when you think about it, its not all different to hot rodders putting a chev engine into a ford...
  13. the best brand speakers depends on your budget.. brands like kenwood, clarion... pioneer... alpine, yes, they may be the best you can afford, but they are no way the best speakers out there..
  14. as said^^ have you got it wired up correctly?? all RCAs and other associated wiring done, and connected properly? what about sub level on teh H/U itself?
  15. check all fuses on the amp, and check the fuse on teh main power wire in teh engine bay. make sure all RCAs etc are still firmly plugged in.
  16. incorrect sorry..... if you get a suspension, you have to cop the restrictions... trust me, im just getting to the end of my 6 month ban, and only last week i found it out... suckzorz anyone want to try and find me an N/A r32??? its damn near impossible...
  17. hey guys, im looking at getting an R32 soon, i was wondering if any of you could put up a pic of the boot?? ive looked everywhere, and cant seem to find one... cheers matt
