Yeh had quick look those results are bullshit! Im intrigued now Im going to have to have a better look into it now, theres quiet a few things im not understanding! But i guess upgrading the stock turbo; engine management; fuel system is inevitable either way if im headn for some decent Hp! I just started reading the "R33 RB30 Conversion by JNR24" ha 231pages and yeh it is way way over my head I think i have a lot to learn, maybe i will read my manual front to back and try grasp better understanding of components! By the sounds of it it would be "HUGELY" beneficial if i was to rebuild ;rebuild with the RB30!

That is a good point! Risky business! But whos to say rebuild will last there is no such thing as warranties on turbos! I mean yeh you obviously get parts warranty but shit I think its risky whatever way you go???????

Yeh mate compressions down in 6th so I guess Im just preparing for the inevitable! I mean the car could last me quiet a while longer if i drive fairlly sedately for majority of time; however as you know it is a skyline and thats no what they were made for! haha and who am i to argue with manufacturers! haha Yeh so Im trying to decide how to best spend money! Do a buy a 2nd hand 25Det stocky with say under 80k on the clock with decent compression for what $2000 and thus just replace my engine???? So yeh i dnt need a halfcut really , i was just thinking it would be nice to have some spares and new gearbox without a 4th gear f**kd syncro, but chances are 2nd handy will hav same prob! I cant see myself being able to rebuild the engine (and it pritty pointless to replace with OEM when for k more can chuck in sum forgies)! so looking t about $6000 but then i guess the skys the limit with Hp! Or do i simply refresh my engine for what $4000 provided pistons and cylinders are still in good nick! I would also like to state that I'm not after too much over 300hp and would be quiet happy just to get to 300, so do I really need forgies and a rebuild???????

Hey guys I realize this has been covered in an older post but it didn't adress a few questions i need to know! Firstly who has brought a halfcut in perth (rb25det) for a GTS-T? $$$$$$? turbo/manifold or just basic engine? Anyone had one imported? Import taxes etc cost? I got quoted $1700 for the basic engine yesterday (thus use my own turbo manifold etc) compression 160 x 5 and 150 x1! does that sound alright? I dnt think it 2 crash hot! Ive worked out i will also need aout $400 worth of additional parts! And how much would my old engine be worth 140000km, wouldnt be worth jack hey? (maybe for a rebuild project)? I am seriously thinking about doing the work myself! I know that may sound a little silly but i do have a motocross backround and have rebuilt a number of bikes and i think i could nut it out! Has anyone jumped in and done conversion themselfs with little mechanical background like myself? has anyone got someone to do it for them? cost? Anyone out there prepared to give us a hand ?(paying offcourse) Rebuild vs Refresh vs halfcut? opinions Thanks guys, Dan

Yeh they look pritty good but I'm not to keen on drilling into my dash! and have seen a few with cable running along dash and they look a little scrappy! just my opinion tho! I like the fact with the pillar mounts you can easily hide your cables! Thanks, Daniel

$65 thats a fairlly reasonable price, I would definately be willing to pay that! Just cant warrent $180! When you say direct fit, you mean replacement Pillar included? or it fits directly over top? why did you need to drill the holes to keep in place 'sorry cant picture'! How did the tripple gauge look (when you put in place)? Was it a bit crammed in there? I have only been in one skyline with a triple gauge pillar mount and I can just remember it looking really clustered (I never got to drive so I also did't get a good representation of 'driver comfort')!

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has used a universal pillar pod mount (like ebay ones) on their R33 or R32 guess it don/t matter? Just trying to work out is it really worth the extra $150 to get the whole pillar with custom mount for my R33 (believe they are about $180) Ridiculous for a piece of plastic! Do the universal ones fit snug? Drilling involved, or slide over? Hiding wires? Your experience? I am also after some electronic gauges (with control unit if possible) Boost, A/F, Oil press if any knows of some second handys! Would really like some Defi smoke gauges or something similar! I have been doing a fair bit of searching and havent really found and "Great Deals" so if anyone knows of any would greatly appreciate hearing about them! Thanks, Daniel

Tell me about it, I spent over hr cleaning it yesterday and its already covered and dirt and shit! I have a mate who cleans BMWs for a living and he gave me some pointers on cleaning black cars, and apparntly keeping their shine for longer (light wash, dish wash detergent soak, sponge of, shammy dry, Microfibre cloth with window cleaner 'polish') Post some pics of your car (maybe some before and after shots) of when you get your kit!

My Skyline had its BodyKit done at Fibre Vision (with previous owner), I have receipts for front bar, skirts, fenders and rear bar $6000+! Bit of an overkill ay, money could've been put to better use but yeh! Im giving them a call today because the glue has already turned to shit and sides are lifting (pritty f**ked considering the 6k was spent less then 6 months a go)!

Yeh Im thinking Gasket to! But for $4000 may aswell do a rebuild; chuck in the forgies + bore what extra $1500-$2000 still thats a lot more then I have atda moment! $1000 what would that get you? Do you mean as in cut the 20 odd hrs of labour out ($2000), shit id be exstatic if I could get out of it for $2000!

Hey guys I picked up my 1994 GTS-T Skyline (manual) today! I don't know how long I have been waiting for this day for but I am super stolked and now a very proud owner! Its great to finally get the car out away from seller and really see what it can do! Im super impressed and I got the car a ridiculously cheap price due to low compression in 1 cylinder! Cheers for reply! Car has 140000km on it, Boost controller running a bar when switched on! New FMIC, new fuel pump, radiator, clutch the guy has $13000 in receipts with car! Those compression ratios are awsome is it a rebuild??? Yeh im reconsidering now instead of him knocking $2000 off i might put it to him that he needs to knock $3000 off? $16-17000 car with rebuild I believe would be fairlly good value, and least you have reassurance that internals are spot on!

Hey Ant, I wouldnt of had this dilema if I had been able to buy your car! haha I came up with $$$$ about 2 weeks after you sold spew! Yeh I have also taken that into consideration the $4000-$5000 and have negotiated price down $3000 and maybe even try go lower! Everything else in the car is done so if I was to spend the extra $4000-$5000 I would have a a fairlly decent car!
