Rb26/30 Build, Yet Another One... ;)
Simonster replied to Simonster's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Unfortunately not until new year now, won't start it again without the correct balancer. She punched out a massive 200hp on 6psi with some terrible timing Bonnet didn't shut in the end, fowled on twin turbo pipe, so that's being changed to sit lower. -

Some items i have that no longer use. All parts in just west of Brisbane near Plainlands RB25 Ross Tuffbond balancer bought for my 26/30 when it was going into my 4 door 32- changed my mind and put into a GTR- power steering alignment is different. This has done around 10 minutes on the engine on initial start. So if you want a new-as-can-get this is for you. $450+postage over $550 new I am after one for a 26!! Volks Te37's 17x7.5+40 17x8.5+40 I bought these new back in 2005 when they were around 1k per corner. Had them on my 180 with 10mm spacer on the front to clear the skyline brakes. They are fitted with semi slicks which would have enough for 1 more track day. One of the fronts is flat spotted to the metal so unusable. Great lightweight rims Great condition, the odd mark from removing and refitting tyres, no gutter rash $1800+postage This is what they look like on my 180 Clutch Suit RB20/25 This was for the above engine. But didn't quite have the clamping load for the torque. Its very similar in spec to what i run in my RB25. That has 430rwhp, has no issues with that power. This clutch has been rebuilt and ready to slot in!! $500+postage Enkie's These are 16x8+32 16x7+35 Super lightweight - Fitted with Dunlop semi slicks that have seen 1 track day on a stock powered 32 Skyline. They are in great nik with heaps of tread. These i bought new from Queensland Raceway and cost $1000 alone!! Tyres are 205/50/16 Yes there's only3 in the pic, there are 4 however $1500 + postage Nismo engine mounts for RB26 This are brand new, never fitted. $400+postage

Simonster replied to Simonster's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not with the bonnet bolted into place but sitting on there yes. **update** Very excited- Car ran today for the first time!! Wouldn't believe it but started within 1 second of cranking and oil pressure immediately. Very happy. Few little problems. An oversight by me, engine was originally going into my 4 door 32, but then i bought a GTR. The balancer is an RB25 item, i now need a 26 as obviously the power steer doesn't line up. Yes i could space it out but i'd rather fit the correct item. SO more delays in tracking one of them down. So if someone is building an RB25 an wants a Ross balancer.... The water bleed was blocked but after some persuasion with high pressure air that was sorted. Started run-in on the dyno but rear wastegate circlip came off so that ended that. Otherwise the gearbox is nice and tight- nothin like a tight box and the clutch is soooo light it's not funny. You'd never know she'll hold 600ft/lbs!! Plus she has that nice 3 litre growl I"m uploading a short vid but it's taking a long time. Shit pic but just before it's first start. -
What was the reasoning behind the 3076? I reckon it'll be too small, it'll come on very early, but run out of puff fairly quickly on the 3 litre

The modded mounts is pretty simple, it actually sit a little too low on the drivers side so we spaced it up a slightly. The sump clears the cross member by ~3mm. I could show you but then i'd have to kill you -

**another small update** Engine is back in the car- hoooooooray!! It's not plumbed up but sitting in it's modded mounts and funilly enough, no bonnet issues!! Still wearing the old cam covers so nothing was scratched during it's install, but here she is And this is the delightful little darling that's supposedly going to hold the 600ft/lbs -

**Small update** Bought a ProEngines adaptor. Beautifully made, packaged and sent within a of ordering!! Thatis service Here is the engine with her skirt up getting some attention Also ordered a nice hose kit to replace all the old lines Gearbox was also reconditioned, has all new bearings and synchro's as well. Should be great. Ended up being able to get the single plate cluto hold the 600ft/lb clamping force i was chasing as well, so that is great. NISMO slave will help with clutch pedal force required Unfortunately its slow going, but we all have bills that need to be payed before the fun tickets can be spent on the engine....also rebuilding the gearbox and giving the head a light freshen up for the Sil80 doesn't help much... -

Well Roy, i bought these a few weeks ago while in the US, pick them up when i go back late november. Nothing fancy, I bought them for my Sil80 track/road car. I have been using 328mm rotors but the GTS-T caliper. So i've been modding the brake pad so it sits further down to get full face contact. But obviously the pistons push over the end of the rotors, not ideal but on my car that weighs 1325kg with me in it very effective. I have had no problems with them, in fact i was chasing some 33 Brembo's for the front but these came up at an absolute steal. Just need to make another adaptor now to suit these. Hey can you PM the youtube link to your PI footage, i can't find it? -

Car Has Fried 2 Ignitor Modules!
Simonster replied to BoostedBarge's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What new wiring has been done in the engine bay/car. Has there been any new sections that were soldered? I had a similar thing happen to me where an electrical short fried my CDI (Autronic) I pulled the coil wiring apart and found a solder joint that had a little peak which rubbed through the wire insulation and bang. Although mine didn't cut out entirely but was running on 2 cylinders. Have a good look at the wiring- i know it's a pain in the ass but hopefully you can remove the wiring as the cause if you find nothing? Hope that helps. -
Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Simonster replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just an aside- I have a 25 and have the rear set of oil feeds blocked off, have had no problems after around 13000km and hard track driving. I use an catch can that flow back into the sump -
