  1. Always good to see a fellow GTR owner. Thanks for the advice, GT Autosound sounds the go. Happy to fork out for a decent setup, considering how easy they are to get into, just after one that doesn't lock the doors automatically, small in the pocket, at least 2 point immobiliser for my insurance and doesn't beep when the doors aren't locked ,if the windows down etc...
  2. Hi, How are you going? I'm good thanks. I am having difficulty with my alarm/immobilizer. It was on the car when i bought it and it is by far the worst alarm, probably on the market, disgustingly bad. The problem is as follows: i had the alarm activated and opened the door, the alarm starts going off, i go to push the deactivate button on the remote and it breaks off on the actual computer chip. I go to push the silent deactivation and the same thing happens, the button breaks off again. So i now can't turn off the alarm. I have managed to trace the wires to the alarm 'box' under the dash and found a reset button. I have tried holding it in, repeatedly pressing it with key in/out on acc position, doors closed open etc... all to no avail. If anyone could help / ideas that would be hugely appreciated. Obviously the car won't start because of the immobilizer. It is a 32 GTR, and the alarm i have no idea. The box says 'SPY' so I'm assuming it's a spy 2 way led with remote start (not connected btw and the remote is a small mobile phone looking thing. A horrible cheap piece of f****ing s**tc**t, sorry for the outburst). I tried google-ing spy but can't really find anything and all i want to do is go for a drive but this stupid problem, from this stupid alarm is preventing it. Cheers.

  4. Just bought a '79 450sel merc, don't suppose anyone knows what type of rims (18, 19 or 20) would fit on them or know of any good pics? Bit of a side project, mix a bit of old and new together perhaps...

  6. Hey there, I have a r32 GTR and was wondering what the oil pressure guage on the dash should read? It seems to fluctuate from near 4 on cold start, to almost zero when freeway cruising. It doesn't seem right to me. I have searched but was chasing some more recent info - especially on places to get it done. I have looked at aftermarket oil pumps - n1 around $250 - $300, JUN, NISMO - $1300. I don't want to get big power out of the motor so would a n1 be enough? I don't fancy spending a grand if theres no need for it. My last question would be, has anyone recently (as mechanics leave etc..) had an oil pump changed, as i've heard the front diff needs to come out. Any places you'd recommend?   8. Yeah I picked up the oil cooler off of here last week after it was suggested and saved a bit in the process. What do you think about 'rust marks'? Be good being in Adelaide as well.
  9. Cheers for that mate but, it's the exhaust cam that is cracked. With my small amount of expertise, was looking at maybe a set of Tomei Poncam type a or b.

  11. Cheers guys, I ordered a set of 550cc injectors and I wasn't going to worry about cams. However I was getting the head pressure tested and they found a hairline crack in one of the standard cams. So I thought that I would get aftermarket ones instead of a pair standard ones. I got a catch can and oil cooler. I hadn't planned on engine work but wanna get it right this time. Just planned to run on premium with a set of n1 turbos later down the track.
  12. Hello again, I was chasing some info on what camshafts - aftermarket - are good for an r32 GTR? If you put in just cams does any other aspect of the motor need to be changed as well? Was also thinking about getting bigger injectors so any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

  15. Hello all, As the title suggests, I have a cracked head on my 92 r32 GTR. I'm not very mechanically minded (being more than 2 moving parts involved) and was wondering what the better option would be: a new motor altogether or getting another head? A balance between cost and not having re-occuring issues. Probably shouldn't have bought anything from Bankstown, but any import would be appreaciated. Dan.
  16. Coming from Taree back home near Adelaide, via Dubbo, West Wyalong, Hay, Mildura then Renmark etc... It's the stretch between Wyalong and Mildura where there is no V-Power or Ultimate. Might not matter, as the roads might be cut off because of the flooding.

  18. I am planning a trip and looking at fuel stops but have come accross a small problem. For 1 fill up, there isn't a servo that has V-Power or BP Ultimate, only Unleaded 95. I don't want to fill up with just 95 as the octane level is too low. Are there anyways around this or anyways to increase the octane level, without doing any engine damage?? Cheers, Dan.
  19. G'day all, I am from SA and have just recently purchased a GTR here. I was curious to know if there are ANY smooth flat "country" roads around the Newcastle area that i could cruise around on? The one's i have found thus far all need a 4x4 to drive down unless you would want to destroy any suspension set up. I'm NOT intertested in hooning / speeding around as i don't know the area, nor the car, just sick of freeways and rough bitumen roads. Any advice would be appreciated, Cheers, Dan.   23. Cheers mate, flying into sydney on Friday from work then planned to drive it back - if it was ok. I know enough about GTST's, not so much GTR's. How does compression test work, as in a NRMA type or mechanics?
