  1. I like the look of JZX100 chaser tourer for a 4 door... looks heaps better than stagea thou not as fast... and obviously much "masculine" styled rather than the soarer
  2. what, u mean, sell up our cars now coz the price of 2nd hand import will go up since it'll be so scarce? but what do we drive then....? buying another import will be expensive as well if after May 2003 anyway.......

I dun even realise my subs to the mag expires, they didn't even let me know... normally I receives it mid month, now it's over the 20th of sept and still havnt received my oct issue... so I just bought one tonite merely due to my interest on XR6 turbocharged version and 2002 POCTY article. Still considering if I wanna renew or not, coz my bro buys wheels and content is pretty much the same.... sometimes get sick of reading those two mags at the same time.....
  4. Thx MegaGTS4 If I don't want to fabricate a hi-flow or 3" pipe where the resonator section is, does anyone know if I can attach my HKS back part muffler to my factory resonator section without any mods/adapters?
  5. This makes me wanna take off my turbo timer... what happens was coz I got an alarm system which will unlock my doors when I turn engine off & remove the key. If turbo timer is on countdown n engine is running, if I remove the key, the alarm won't detect it. If I press "arm" button, my system will go to valet mode, which will disable auto-arming feature for the purpose of valet parking at hotels. I can't even use my remote door unlock/lock coz pressing arm/disarm only goes from valet mode on/off. If I lock the door using the key and walk off the car... when my turbo timer finish its job, it will turn off the engine, and guess what the result is... my car will be unlocked.... anyone can just open the door, grab anything from the car and walk away maybe even with the car....... And I've got the apexi pen style turbo timer....
  6. unfortunately I just found out yes, I thought it was cat-back system, but what has been said in this thread it looks like I only have the rear section of the system...missing the middle resonator section...
  7. Is that converter section = the resonator section that I don't have? If I can't get my hands on that missing section, considering you said it's only straight thru with fibreglass packing, will that be easy to fabricate in local workshop and produce the same level of quietness with the original HKS cat back system?

  11. I also intend to increase boost to 10 or 11psi but my exhaust is limiting so can't go more than 9psi at the moment. Secondly my boost bleed valve setup was not very correct. Nigel from ICE told me I had to block off the solenoid(?? is it correct) so that it's somewhat isolated from the new system, otherwise the ECU will keep hesitating. However I've just got the HKS dragger back exhaust now, and next do I have to get a hi-flow cat to attach it? Here's a info phrase from Taka-kaira "They are designed to integrate into the factory exhaust system by bolting up to the factory b-pipe". What's this b-pipe? Is it the section with resonator after the cat?
  12. I never understand what final diff ratio is... is this the ratio of the gears used in the rear diff? or something else......
  13. does the factory ECU actually richen the mixture when it detects increased boost at the top end/high rpm only or does it richen the mixture evenly across the rpm from the moment turbo spolls up?
  14. So what r they gonna use to replace 2JZGTEs then? Is Nissan also abandoning the RB engine soon? Looks like the death of the turbo era **sigh** I read that R35 skyline (or V35 callit whateva) would not likely to be turbocharged.... I wouldn't mine tho if they pack all these cars with V8, V10 or V12 & 400kw inside heheheh
  15. I wonder what happens to the engine management system if, say, one wants to convert a twin turbo setup on a supra to a single turbo setup. Does aft ECU like PowerFC can be used to control a twin turbo setup and/or single turbo interchangeably? Maybe you're right, this will be extra $$$ involved changing the ECU when you converse twin to single turbo/vice versa? On the other hand, if Toyota decides to abandon the twin turbo setup will that be due to production cost/meeting emission requirement in Japan? I think JapLink in NSW already start importing JZX100 to aus, but hey, I dunno, check with them. HPI said their phone no is 02-97160857. Do they have a website btw?

  17. Even on some supra lots of ppl modify them into a single turbo conversion, as it is far cheaper than buying two sets of turbo and a good single turbo will do the job well. Alternatively, I think it won't be long until someone stick in a twin turbo charged 2JZGTE engine from a Supra into a Chaser JZX100... Dunno if that can be achieved as gearbox mount, driveshaft length etc could be different. But the engine bay suppose to fit as it looks larger than a Supra.
  18. Yeah, I like the body styling, altho interior I suspect will be as bland as other Toyotas... Unless someone recolour some trim parts with other colours like silver or woodgrain... depends on which style they want..
  19. Does anyone know the reason why GTS4 doesn't come in turbo version for R33 series? Is it not allowed by the SEVS scheme or is it coz Nissan never made one?
  20. Will a GTS-4 box fit in a GTS-t to make a baby R33 GTR? Question is how strong is this box to hold the power from a turbo engine? Or even better put in a GTR box? If above can be done: what front diff should be used & is rear diff needs to be changed to match the ratio? What about ATESSA then, does it just straight plug in n play?

  23. On cold start mine will idle at more than 1000rpm, perhaps like 1200rpm if I remember. Once the engine is warmed up, it idles at around 650rpm to 700rpm.
  24. fuel mixture too rich? it happens with mine if I slam the pedal to metal. not too rushy with the pedal might help, just quick but controlled foot pressure.
