  1. that could be a grey area if an accident happen you are going to be at fault because cars in roundabout already have right of way regardless whether you think they're in your lane or not...
  2. with all these other drivers with either incompetent skill to merge at 100km/h or have incompetent cars to accelerate quick enough to match the speed, even at speed limit 100 you almost had a crash. imagine the proposed 140 increase of speed limit on the freeway... what would happen if you're on the left lane doing 135 (under the proposed limit) with another car on the right passing you at 140 so you can't change lane, and that same incompetent driver merges in front of you only doing 60-70? you might actually had a crash already cos you may not have enough space to slow down from 140 to 60 in time... unfortunately until these kinds of drivers are ironed out to increase their skill to do 140 on the freeway, I dont see how the proposed speed limit increase would ever, ever happened during our lifetime....
  3. if you do have stock rims perhaps sell the 19" separately... you might end up on top, or if not it'll move faster... things like tv canceller cable, gearknob, rims, z-tube etc anything that you have stock parts to bolt it back in can be sold separately...
  4. Nelson's farewell cruise LOL... where to meet? Knox? LOL
  5. wondering if there's anyone 'brave' enough to try VR38DETT converstion... if that is possible, of course...
  6. HKS does two kits, one is s/c and the other is tt kit... they're about $7-10k parts only ex japan not including install & tuning... if you can find someone to tune the supplied piggy back / replacement ECU. APS have around $17k drive in drive out tt solution. Oh and if yours is 5sp auto you'll need have the auto rebuild locally to withstand 500HP which is not included in APS' package. You see it will never be cheap to do FI on this car, so best to leave it alone as N/A unless you are fully loaded with cash and got nothing better to do with them. every country has their own different rule, unfortunately they can't just change the law for the sake of a bunch of 'pimp my ride' fans who felt left out. if you can't stand it, maybe take up a course/degree in teaching, and apply for an english teaching job in Japan and live there. car mod scene is more relaxed there... although they do still have 3-yearly road inspection called the 'shaken' which means they do still have some limits on how you modify your car before it's deemed unroadworthy and cannot be registered... bye
  7. well the old saying goes: you get what you paid for...
  8. think north of $10k as a bare minimum to get it done properly. some spent $17-22k which is considered the norm for a well designed layout / install and tune.... e.g. APS kit should have bought an R34 mate... :-) or M35 stagea... the turbos come 'free' in those... works out cheaper to swap
  9. somewhere on the motor assembly. you just have to look around, sorry can't help you anymore cos I'm not pulling my door apart again after spending 5 hours to get to my passenger door lock actuator! (posted a thread here too about that)
  10. ok, free shortcut for you as I think I found something on the 2nd page of that thread. there's a reset button on the windows motor - according to them... to have your power window reset/re-learn do this:
  11. Try this thread... maybe there's something in there, I havent read it through though... http://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-...el-removal.html
  12. selling a car (except rare classics like Mustang 500GT Shelby or McLaren F1) are always a seller's nightmare, be it imports or Aust Delivered. it's a basic rule that car depreciates. each week the car advertised and not being sold, the value keeps dropping... some do hold values well due to the brand or snobbish factor (bmw, audi) but even so high end bmws like 540 would suffer bigger depreciation compared to its... say, 323 cousin... even if you advertise on a reasonable market value, there'll always be a flogger out there who need to sell in a hurry for some reason, put ridiculously low price, and startled the rest of the market who may respond by dropping their prices if they're somewhat half desperate to sell and ruins it for everyone else. now you can see why the good old advice always recommends never buy a car on loan, pay cash or as much part of it you can afford by cash if a loan is non-avoidable, or only put it on loan/lease if it's giving you some sort of tax claim benefits (businesses or novated lease linked to salary sacrifice) again, it may not work for everyone....
  13. problem is each state has different economic level and affordability... i noticed people in Melb are generally more tightass than Sydney and will go out of the way to try to squeeze the last drop of blood from your price. what may sell relatively easy in Sydney for $25k that may not be the case in Melb, probably a few k down...
  14. yeah my old R33 had 3 yr warranty cos i got it from a dealer... never actually had to use it and it doesnt cover any mods. and may be void if you mod your car. and nelson's right with the limit on certain parts so it won't be a full refund... at the end of the day I am not getting any warranty whatsoever with my V35 and just service it at my local Nissan dealer. minor if just oil change is under $300 major is about $600-700 - don't think I ever seen $1k yet. good thing VQ engine uses chain not timing belt so it saves you that usually $800-ish cost to change timing belt at 100,000km. the chains I was told are meant to last like at least 300,000km which is almost the lifetime of the vehicle. other minor belts (a/c, p/s) still need to be changed though but they're peanuts, like $100-200ish
  15. yeah, stuck with V... trade in is the quick way out at this current economic situation...
  16. Done, check ur pm... I've actually got great service from Nissan JP got my immob code today but just checking if your software spit out the same value...
  17. damn, I've been procastinating in getting my PIN code... just email [email protected] tonight but I didn't read the whole thread then realised I should have just given them the BCM code... will have to pull out the trim and find out. maybe I'll pm TomR33 too
  18. I doubt it's the motor, maybe a relay somewhere that caused your passenger side don't work. could be a BCM thing too... there's too much electronics in this car...
  19. I'm in Melbourne. my wife is from Malaysia so we do occasionally travel there to visit my in-laws...
  20. Chris you may want to start considering selling your name as a 'google adword' LOL Millos, sorry to see it has to go, but yeah, price do come down to how fast you need it gone. There are one or two very cheap ones locally but sellers could be motivated to sell due to e.g. needing to buy a property or already committed to one and needed extra cash, or yeah, relocating like yourself... Probably put this in the general For Sale is better? As most people on the V forum may already own a V35 (except Stephen Thorpe LOL), and putting in the general FS section you may have potential buyers who wanted to upgrade their ride but haven't really jumped on this section much...
  21. Chris is right, red door 'light' is not a light but a reflector so that when you open your door while stopping on the roadside, oncoming traffic from behind you can see it. safety feature. re windows auto seal up/down, either the glass bolts were a bit loose ( I found that out when re-assembling), or your door sensor is faulty.
  22. perhaps it does, probably the way the signal is routed from the navi rom to the headunit and into the speaker. well she speaks in japanese anyway which you won't understand so i don't think why you should be attached to her voice... - unless it serves you as a purpose of some wild fantasy... i dun know...
  23. unfortunately, mick, I've seen people driving with not enough skill to keep up with the rest of the average.... these are the first ones who're likely to go on the road toll statistics with the new limits, and you know the govt will use that statistics to just bring the limit back down or even lower than it was before... i would love to have an autobahn style freeways here but if they ever do so, with these kind of uncompetent drivers I see everyday in the road, I am truly fearful of my own safety if I am zooming in right lane at 160km/h in a future 'australian autobahn' when these untrained drivers come onto my path just to sit at 90km/h with less than 30m for me to reduce speed and a Ferrari coming up my rearview mirror fast as it was doing 200km/h. I was told this is how most accident in Autobahn Germany happened, involving a local west german rear-ending an eastern germany new immigrants, ending up killing the eastern germans in their Lada while the western germans had a slightly better since they have airbags in their AMG. the licensing system need to change, e.g. make advance driving course compulsory to get on L, 2nd level of advance driving compulsory to get on P, and another full rigorous test (or semi-motorsport course) required to get to Full license. An exercise that easily be around 6-7 years to get to full license instead of just 3 years. Then we can have an autobahn, and traffic will be flowing indeed. Oh, and to make sure everyone is safe, I'm sure the government will also want to mandate a compulsory annual RWC and go through everything (worn tyres, worn/modified suspension, illegal HID lights) to make sure all cars complied and capable of doing autobahn speed and come to a stop in less than 150m from 160km/h. England has annual MOT (similar to RWC) as well as Japan as a similar roadworthy inspection every 3 years. oh and the annual RWC may mean you'll have to return all mods to stock to pass it. I can see how this will only be possible, annual RWC (and probably EPA test), Compulsory Advance Driver Skill Course (repeatable every x year) to keep your license, then the autobahn. All 3 must be linked together. Just more money for the government. driving your car will just about to get a lot more expensive.
  24. yeah a very dangerous move if not done properly, cos if you do it wrong, and you tried flashing your ROM with the 'hacked' cd-rom, you'll get a dead brick... even if you replace the hex of japanese texts to english, it will require more work to: - swap km/ltr consumption to ltr/100km algorithm - fixing up Australian time zone o nthe trip computer with automatic Daylight Savings Time... I believe those two example requires some reverse engineering of the programming codes and logic...
  25. even if the freeways are designed so well to support 130-140km/h speed limit... but does your average P-plater Joe & Jane have gone enough training to tackle merging or freeway change lane at that speed? the major difference between australian driving licensing system and those say, in Germany, is that here it is too easy to obtain a license with just a written test and a relatively slow speed test around suburban streets. in most other countries you won't pass your driving test unless you can prove to be able to merge into autobahn freeways at 160km/h what i've seen around me is just gonna be more case of autobahn casualties where people from east germany who had never been exposed to those blistering speed got themselves killed within a few months of 'free germany' opened up to the easterners and free cross-border european union. at least until the licensing system and testing is changed to really aimed to build driver skill, not to lower insurance claim from parking spot reversing bingles.
