  1. I didn't test drive R20 (they're only called 'R' now) but the spec looks good and I'm sure it's blistering quick for a practical hot hatch. But I can't justify spending $65k on a small ex-demonstrator wagons that dealers have leftover loaded with leather sunroof navi cos they're too expensive and no one buys them, and waiting on back order for 6 months is way too long... $20k difference is a lot of money
  2. Well at least even though I don't have 350GT, but at least now mine's still a 'GT' car... This just landed in my garage today!
  3. agreed cars these daysr gettin0g bigger/heavier with clever electronic v engine allows bigger capacity in more compact package to allow more space in engine bay to fit other stuff while allowing better placement for weight distribution with nissan's future vision dun think they'll go back to inline6. even bmw uses v config in their current M3 now...
  4. Coupe has firmer suspension than sedans, so if you're after a totally smooth ride, get the sedan...
  5. sounds like a good cruise you have... not so sure about your comment on the speed, hope you don't get banned from this forum, the admins can be quite a nazi about posting such thing - LOL
  6. lol, yeah... not! but it's ok, settled on a replacement, the mk6 golf gti looking forward to taking delivery of it... hopefully end of week
  7. Spotted storm blue V35 (probably a Series 2 colour) on Dynon Rd this morning towards city... I'm just blending in with the rest of 4WD driver...
  8. maybe I could borrow Nelson's V35... since he's got his arse stuck up in Canberra anyway... someone need to give his V a good run!
  9. you wish... how about this, I polish your wheels, you polish our RAV4's wheel and we'll call it even ok ;-)
  10. ceased business? wow... lucky I sold my V35 today.... it would be a hassle for me to take it to anywhere else where tram ride to city is just 1-2 blocks away!
  11. Now that I've sold my V35 to ur bro... I don't think me showing up in Toyota RAV4 add values to the cruise.... LOL
  12. also another irony is we were trying to find a new place in Doncaster / Templestowe area but alas the property prices we couldn't really afford finding one worthwhile... and now my V35 managed to find a new home in Templestowe (where new owner lives).... does that mean I have to sell myself so I can afford getting a place there?
  13. 1. Need a car with MINIMUM 4 door, no less. 2. An opportunity has come to do novated lease to get some tax benefit - even if this means gonna be Aust Delivered car only. 3. Best to sell my V35 now before every new kids on the block has one - being rare/exclusive still keep the price up so I would only loose 30-40% in depreciation NOW (if including all accessories / rims added over 2.5 years), rather than 75% depreciation over 3.5yrs that happened to my R33 Gtst 4 years ago. Thing is I estimated lead time to get a solid sales lead is 3 month, didn't expect the car to sell WITHIN 1 week and now I'm stranded in between getting a new leased car.
  14. Spotted my beloved silver V35 coupe driven away by its new owner, Kevin... So long, goodbye.... Hope you enjoy it as much as I did over the past 2-3 years, Kev! Take a good care of it and I'm sure it'll find itself a good new home....
  15. remove it. and throw it away. that's just a bolt they put in there so you can't put your rear rims on the front because on a coupe the front to rear is staggered fitment 225 and 245 tyres..
  16. if you live in VIC that exhaust soon gonna earn you a place in the black book of cops & EPA defects... good luck may the back roads and alley ways hide you from their radar... see the other limp mode thread where japav had an overdue defect on his exhaust while his car is out of action in the mechanics and his aftermarket exhaust is considered very quiet...
  17. by doing that do you loose all other reminder beeper when you leave headlight after engine off and you open the door? as well as the reminder beep when leaving key in ignition...
  18. they won't fit... u could try retrofit them but think about having your car looking like this dog with lower teeth protruding:
  19. Carsales RedBook value guide: 5sp Manual Petrol Intercooled Turbo 6cyl 2.5 2498cc Average Private Price+ $16,900 - $20,850 u buy it for $19k, then u add like $1500-ish to get it rego'ed maybe a bit more if seller don't include RWC (being it unregistered they're not obliged to provide RWC). by the time u had it in your name it'll be $20k-ish which is the TOP max value according to redbook you can say scrap the redbook sh1t but if I am a buyer - I'd be going around shopping with redbook value printout in my hand and press the price out of every single seller I see with those values. oh and all those mods not gonna be 'valueable' in the eye of the buyer... been there done that. bought my R33 for $23k, spent $20k on mods over 3-4 yrs of ownership, and only managed to get $11k out of it via private sale. go figure.
  20. sorry to rain on your parade but 2nd hand market sucks right now... especially grey imports with no local dealer support go to carsales, and see how many other private R34 being advertised for sale, not to mention dealers... long story short even offering my mint V35 for trade in on a new Volkswagen the dealer went scoot and run. they just don't want a grey import in their yard, and probably don't want trade ins at all!
  21. buying a car on ebay have u viewed it in person, test drove it? it's one of the dodgiest place on earth to buy a car unseen, let alone one with no rego like this one. i hope you all the very best of wishes that nothing major is wrong with the car... why do you think the seller is selling an unregistered car with no air flow meter and missing passenger window? was the car ever got stolen? something being smashed and grabbed off the vehicle? i wish u luck man...
  22. even if they're not ferrari owners can afford the epa fine, even if it's the $10,000 environmental fine, it's peanut money for them.
  23. oh and if you had it engineered, you can make it legal... I think to make it totally legal the best cost efficient approach is to gather a few varex muffler owner on the same car/engine/transmission package, and pay this testing centre in geelong or somewhere (I heard it cost about $7000) and share the cost for an ADR Approved Evidence. It will only be worth it if you're a company e.g. APS or Borla etc that manufactured 'dealer option' exhaust system in mass production.
  24. the reason why they're legal on high end vehicles, e.g. Audi R8 is because they've been properly engineered and researched thoroughly when the designers design the vehicle. problem with aftermarket Varex muffler is unless it's been proven that it won't cause undue carbon pollution any higher than stock exhaust, as well as noise, they can't view it as legal...
  25. You should replace it... not doing the engine any good having dirty filters on...
