  1. Auto and manual gearbox crossmembers are the same. S13 manual crossmember is a perfect fit (for a manual converted cefiro) the only good thing that came from my partner destroying her old 180.. plus the fact she brought a 32.
  2. esky_mad is happy with the above arrangement..
  3. Sweet, front bar is all yours i just want the lights..
  4. Nic_A31 have you called on the headlights ? if not ill take them!!
  5. shell is still sitting here, but has been raided of all usable parts. only things ive got left are things im keeping for another cefiro further down the line.
  6. whilst i didnt have a 26 plenum i did have a custom plenum and found the response was perfect, didnt peak at massive revs, came on nice and smooth. it would seem people go on what they might here from some random source than a genuine experience.
  7. it does look a bit awkward, but better than a URAS and was a really good fitting front bar. and yes they ask insane amounts of money for a genuine WSX kit, i think trademe has quite a few fakes..
  8. auto cefiro had a floor mounted handbrake. s13/180sx tunnel mount also works.
  9. im not a fan of the original WSX 400R copy, im glad justin decided to change it. an aftermarket rear bar would look out of place, if you can find one the later model stock rear bar is a perfect fit with the skirts.. This is my old front bar, had 'Freedom' stamped under the fibreglass.
  10. RB20 and RB30 gearbox bellhousings are basically the same (different webbing) so a 30 flywheel will be fine.
  11. ^^ as above the D1NZ guide is perfect for someone doing it first time, are you getting an engine loom with the engine ? if so it will plug straight into the body loom of the car, you only need to change a few wires under the fuse box. http://forums.d1nz.com/viewtopic.php?t=254...2f708026aa142be Link... this is all you need..
  12. saw an a32 cefiro with badges and all running around western sydney a few weeks ago, was rather suprised as i wouldnt have thought they would be worth the effort..
  13. if i leave the PCV alone ive only got one hose running to the catch can, as the smaller outlet on the cam cover isnt suitable for the engine to breath, so they are looped together as from factory. custom intake pipe doesnt allow for it to be plumbed back in which is a pain but the original intake is stuffed. appreciate you input either way!!
  14. the catch can is a generic two outlet, so having 3 outlets is easier said than done. ive seen plenty of catch cans set up like this and havent had smoking issues, i figured if its breathing enough that two hoses into one causes issues (it goes into one hose just before it hits the catch can) then the culprit is something much more than the catch can. but im more than happy to be proven wrong..
  15. The RB20 in my partners 32 started to pump a bit of white smoke last week, so we pulled the turbo and hoped that was the problem. it was replaced with a good condition Neo RB25 turbo but its still got puffs (albeit much smaller ones) of white smoke coming from the exhaust every now and then, and when the oil cap is opened, what looks like mist is coming out. i believe this is blow by ?? we will of course get a comp test and/or leak down test to confirm. Its only recently had a catch can installed, has two outlets. cam covers are connected to one outlet, while the other goes back to the PCV valve on the intake manifold. which i believe to be correct as we dont want one going back to the intake pipe. ive done bits and pieces on my previous cefiros and my partners old 180SX, mainly dropping and fitting motors, gearboxes, removing turbos and manifolds more times than i can remember, and doing timing belts, tensionsers etc etc. im not to concerned about stripping the motor as ive stripped down a motor before (that was thrown in the bin though) but im not sure what i should be looking for in terms of the bore in the block, what rings do i get, what measurements do i make for getting the correct bearings ? i have had a look at the engine manual before but its all a bit confusing... and no we are not swapping in a 25.. plus it seems a better option to freshen it up than throw in another 20 thats on its last legs. any info is appreciated, no flaming is required. backyard mechaincs have to learn somehow.. cheers.
  16. embeding never works for me.. especially funny at 1.09
  17. unfortunately no, one of the few parts that are Cefiro specific, ive got a pair in my garage but their to hard to get hold of so im keeping them...
  18. not a fan of the idea. its just lazy power to me. depends what you want to do with the car in the future also. if you want to sell it you'll probably have more hassles than selling one with an RB/SR, if you dont you'll be driving a bright orange camry with a cracked exhaust...
  19. if your talking about the castor rod bracket which it sounds like you are (pic added) then these are A31 specific so the shops you rang were correct. i think nic means the caster rods themselves? which are the same as S13 but defnitely not the bracket itself.
  20. i should note its been using quite abit of oil recently not necessairly burning it.
  21. so the story goes, my partner started up her 32 a few days ago and it started to pump a little white smoke, she thought nothing of it initally until she backed down the driveway and it started pumping huge clouds of white smoke, thought i could be a few things so ive pulled the turbo and dump off tonight and the issues are: Cooler piping from turbo to cooler has trail of oil (more than your usual blowby) Intake pipe has trail of oil Exhaust housing and dump are full of oil And theres alot of condensation in the dump and exhaust housing and a white coating over alot of the oil, is this condensation mixing with the oil or something more sinister ? theres no milky paste under the oil cap its been burning quite abit of oil recently was no sign of any smoke from start up to full throttle when warm before this given how much smoke it was pumping out taking it to a workshop for a comp test was out of the question, any info is appreciated, or any tests that dont involve taking it to a shop. Cheers.
  22. fairly certain sierra was on top for the entire day, tarzan was getting close in the WRX but still ended up third behind Panspeed.
