These cams are not exactly new to me Ran they in my last motor as stated in the first post though had cam timing sorted on install so I spose without cam gears adjusted they might be that doughy down low but I doubt it Basic setup has been done, just not power tune afrs etc looked fine tuner didnt really notice anything amiss till he did a lap of the block to make sure no drivability issues, an there it was, along with an oil leak from the cam cover half moon seal Appreciate the help though guys Darwin definitely needs more GTR's
-
Yeah ITB's am wondering if I still have a leak the cams are not that big tried some carby cleaner but no real joy After reading bout your drama with injector o-rings will try n blast some aerostart or somesuch around there an see if that shows anything up
-
thanks for the replys car runs well idle is a bit up'n down 900ish to maybe as high as 1000 rpm but seems to be reasonably steady round 950ish once properly warm car is not making much power though at really small throttle openings eg trying to get up a steep driveway new motor and new twin plate OS Giken so a new learning curve I spose as well Have not done a real tuning run for power yet just checked afr's etc and loaded it up for a bit on the dyno need rego next to put some km's on it Am hoping once i get the cam timing done an a proper power tune it will be better edit: poncams so 264 9.6 on both (if memory serves me right)

anyone running poncams in a rb26dett able to help??????????????????
-
Mine actually reads almost identical to the Defi boost gauge at least it does at vacuum
-
Hoping someone may be able to help us out just got my new motor going forged internals big sump etc. etc. Head was checked out and setup to run my Tomei poncams I had used previously Now its running and all seems happyish except only seeing -35 kpa vac at idle (factory spec -65 kpa) this on the stock gauge appears as the mark half way to -700 mmHg (factory spec should be -480 mmHg) would love to know what others with poncams are seeing cams will obviously effect vacume at idle but this seems a bit excessive have checked and cant seem to find any other vac leaks??????????????? any assistance apreciated

Oil Pressure Low After Installation Of Components
noone replied to Taso84's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is this the housing shaft you are referring too??? Pic is my old motor which as far as I can tell never had an o ring on there? there is a ring on the end which could seat an o-ring an one almost flush with the block which could maybe as well -
with the height of the average skyline ramps would need to be about 8 feet long to be much good to ya unless you remove the front bar or something????????

Damn bud that sucks Bump for a sweet looking ride if I had the readys would happily take it off your hands -
Arc would in my opinion be better than an unshielded pod, just If you shield the pod difference would be negligable

Best Ways To Extract Power From N/a V35 Legally?

But Damn it looks sweet as..!!!!!! -
semi slicks are not better for the street they are shit noisy pick every little stone pebble etc up and fling em into your undertray paint etc and if it rains well good luck Someone once described em to me on here as sounding like tractor tyres and its quite true (I drive my car with semis to the local circuit) Stiff as sidewalls no good for drag at all, great for circuit no good for anything else Run street tyres for street and get some drag radials on another pair of rims for the drags and if ya have not got a cage sell the used drag tyres n rims once ya crack 11's

Os Giken Str 2c Twin Plate Clutch Kit
noone replied to noone's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Na trial fitted flywheel to an old crank on the weekend with one bolt tightened right down it was still moving around enough to convince me it had bottomed out without pulling up on the flywheel ie. bolts are too long -
Clutch 'heaviness'?
noone replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
nismo big slave cylinder???? Might be worth a try -
Sorry cant remember the mob in adelaide that make these will try n look later figure they may be a bit better for getting spares etc Installed and wired mine myself didnt use the supplied bolts used 20mm chemsets these are expensive to buy I didnt have to but since my slab wasnt the required thickness I went for the overkill method, I spoke to a bloke there who claimed to have had patrols etc. up on his with a standard 4 inch slab without problems they also sell an outrigger setup which I am using and would advise if installing on a standard slab will take some pics in the morning of these for the money they are a good thing I reckon the so called instructions are useless chinenglish their installer even confirmed this I spoke to him several times and was really helpfull and even answered his phone on weekends etc so I would not say lack of support is an issue at all biggest down point I have found so far is it doesnt seem possible to remove the rams to rebuild em without alot of hassle may be worth questioning any u look at buying about this as in the long run it will be a much better thing in a home workshop situation I can not imagine this being a major hassle and maybe a large factor in their design All in all I am pretty happy with mine and having your own hoist in your backyard shed makes the expense of buying a house worthwhile in my humble opinion
