My 32GTR is sitting on the YSJ3000 hoist in my shed at the moment (the second link) Not a bad bit of gear but not great either There is a mob in Adelaide who actually make hoists and may be a better option Pretty sure the others are all china made the YSJ3000 is fer sure The slab thickness you bolt the hoist to is an issue as well pretty sure they recommend a like 5 or 6 inch slab, most sheds are only 4 or so

R34 Trust Extension Dump Pipes On R32gtr?
noone replied to gtr fan's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think you will find even if you use the bungs that the R32 o2 sensors wont work as they will be two short to actually end up in the exhaust flow -

http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...hers_gauge.html link to the Tomei site showing application of Tomei throttle coat to the Butterflys not to the bore of the throttle body at all So went back down to the shed to check mine out to find this on the exact same spot as in the pic on the Tomei site Add to this the fact that I could barely blow any air down the supplementary air pipe till I cleaned the throttle body bore where the butterfly contacts (well almost contacts) the bore you can see said hole below and the pipe I am referring to is clearly visible in the Tomei pics despite the pic it looks like this side didnt have the aprox. 6 -10 mm of coating the other side did again exactly as per the tomei pics If I hadnt of cleaned the throttle body bores I reckon this hole would of been so clogged as to have been almost useless

Okay stole the pic shamelessly from atomik bomber man's build thread If I am asking in the wrong section sorry Have now tried three times to install the part pictured below that takes the water feed from the engine side of the thermostat Brand new fitting from Nissan froze it in the freezer for a day or two coated in hylomar then installed checked it the next day still able to turn it with light pressure, DAMN!!! found I could pull it out by hand now??????????????? Figured hylomar wasnt the right stuff as it doesnt actually dry So tried Ultra Blue RTV no Good either black sealant adhesive same same My main question I see in the pic and thread Daz and ABM have used threebond the Nissan stuff is this Anerobic ie. will it dry without oxygen present is this why my fitting wont seem to seal??? On another note tried Locktite "Freeze and Release" spray on the old fitting still stuck in my old block froze up almost instantly and was able to pull it out by hand with little or no effort May try that old fitting next sorry for the long post but this f**ker is doing my head in for real

Must of done it wrong cant remember how I did it but didnt find the starter that bad most seem to though??? didnt have my ratchet ringys then either they arrived a week after I had the motor out
-
took my rb26 out from the top without the gearbox attached no sweat at all I already had the head off which made it much easier I guess but with a few (borrow from ya mates) extensions I cant see any of the bellhousing bolts being that bad am currently wondering though if I can actually put it back in without taking the gearbox out I seriously doubt it so consider that too I have a trust sump and long dump/front pipes so that adds to the problem Been a while since I took one out to and managed by myself without to much sweat bro arrived just after I got it out gotta love having help eh!

So can anyone comment on setting these up ie. setting the fully closed stopper? the other linkages seem to be well covered in the manual
-
Yeah had figured that 2 yet car ran and idled fine when chocked with carbon so you definitly couldnt see any light??????????? The "bore " on mine is definitly looking silver now not black as in the posted pics Just not wanting to risk problems on starting a fresh motor guess I may be panicking about nothing checked the manual again to be sure and there is nothing in there about setting these plenty on setting the other linkages with feeler gauges etc nothing on setting the butterflys up though

Paid $200 To Get Aircon Fixed, Still Same Problem
noone replied to fib's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
is it popping fuse's is the compressor actually kicking in ??? did the aircon ever work? -
Well can confirm if you clean throttle plates and "bore" of throttle body with carby cleaner you will afterwards be able to see light past the edges of the throttle butterfly 100% for the record this was the same with crc carby cleaner and motorquip carby cleaner God I hope that tomei stuff I ordered this morning works

R34 Gtt Overheated Due To No Water/coolant, Now Engine Light
noone replied to Alien's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As above I would be just as worried about where the water went and probable head gasket damage On most cars disconnecting the battery overnight or disconnect than stand on the brakes for 30 seconds tends to clear engine lights, resets the computer however will come back on when it starts if the fault is still there????? Have not tried this on a skyline but works on nearly everything else I have tried it on -
X2 when are these happening again????/
-
Can anyone confirm this actually works?? the throttle body repair that is not the stupid interview techniques
-
okay would the info in this thread work is it the same idea as the Tomie stuff I posted above???? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...+throttle++body my throttle bodys look more like this ie silver bare inner walls only with more carbon build up than the black inner walls in dcieves pic above Am starting to worry bout this now
-
looking a Dcieve's post his throttle bodys have a black finish inside is this the coating everyone is on about??? is it safe to clean the throttle plates and the area they seal against mine appear to have alot of carbon buildup?? thinking just carby cleaner rags toothbrush etc??
