Thats really sucks to find the car so badly stripped. It really hurts seeing it. Lucky it was insurred.

Now that's more the spirit, everyone is busy but having the ability to say you can try and do something is great. To Michele I should clarify, in saying you were helping to organise SDMA, you were taking a race car and setting up probably the largest and the best visual display of SDMA, with the truck and associated gear to set up which takes a bit of organising. I know the effort you went to for Marques and I see that as helping to organise. I respect what Michele has done for SAU and I would not expect everything to have to fall to Michele. I disagree with Shell in that I believe an organiser at some level is required. By that they take some responsibility for the day. We know what happened to SAU and paint ball when someone with good ideas, limited organisation skills and no responsibility tried to run an event. We could all turn up at 9am dump our cars in some semblance of an order and be done with it. It would look average and in my opinion a waste of a display. The displays have been getting better and better with more organisation. Why take a step back? Cejay has outlined the major items but there are a lot of other items that go towards making the day successful. The more small items that can be done the better the overall display and enjoyment of those attending. Someone has PM'd me with an interest in the organiser role subject to a couple of items. Should they take on this role I would hope you would offer them your assistance to make the experience as great as it can be.

From my experiance in the GTR I would not rate the EBC yellow. They take a while to really bite, fine for the race track, but early morning hill climb I nearly didn't make the first corner.

I'm over it Michele (See I even spelt your name right) We have two cars in the family any only one driver It's been 3 days since my last comments (and last time I had the time to log on) and yet I see no one willing to step up to "organise" the attendance, even with full guidance and help. Michele is busy helping organise the hillclimb club someone else put your hand up. I make this stance because 1. I want to make a point, if you don't like it, take some responsibility and do it yourself. 2. There are very few people who actually do anything for the group. It should not fall to one or two people to organise everything and some recognition should be given to those who do take a part out of their lives to do something for SAU ACT. 3. The forum has not identified a clear direction they want to take. I don't care who steps up, what they want to do with the event etc. I will give them every piece of help I can. Cejay's done it before and it was a job well done. How about someone else step up. PM me if you want to find out what needs doing

So as not to limit anyone's attendance to this SAU display at wheels, I have decided to step down from the "organiser" role to let someone with a passion for their view point to "organise" the attendance in the way they feel is right. I can not organise something in a way that is against the majority of SAU wishes. The job is half done and is not that big or hard in reality. It is best if the "organiser" attends on the day to resolve any issues as they occur. I will also assist in anyway I can, but I will not run it by default. This is a great opportunity for someone to learn organisational skills, utilise limited resources, learning who's true to their word and will follow through with what they say they will do etc. Best of all you get to have the honour of running the "best SAU display ever" with the full GTR line up currently looking promising. Frink, I may need you to drive my GTR but we'll let the new "organiser" allocate mature drivers before I snaffle you.

I'm just going to make a final statement on this. This issue is a mountain out of a mole hill. No one has indicated they will be displaying a non skyline/skyline related model to date. Those that have been mentioned as having other cars are displaying with other clubs that they belong to or attending in a spectator capacity. I've been disappointed in the fact a majority of SAU have apparently been over ruled regarding SAU displays by those who do not, or can not support the SAU displays. To gain support some have tried to confuse the issue of the entire wheels event with the SAU display or tried to say people with other types of cars are not welcome in SAU. I think the majority have seen through this deception. We have seen all sorts of suggestions from skylines only to: Including any car in the display Including any car as long as its not lined up with the skylines Include any car as long as the non skylines are on the outsides of the display Include any car as long as they don't out number skylines Include any car as long as there's only a few non skylines etc etc etc etc............................. As I stated in the first post, I don't care what the outcome is I'll organise to get a spot for SAU. What I do care about is the vocal minority who don't actually support an event, overruling the quiet majority. In fact it pisses me off. To give some perspective to what some of these suggestions can lead too....My parter has a rusty shit box, she attends more events then the majority of the people posting here and if we go with "any car" then she wants the rusty shit box to take centre stage. She's earned it by attending SAU events, organising drinks etc and attending early events to get things organised so the majority of SAU can enjoy the day. How dare anyone say she can't park where she wants. But I'm being too silly, in fact I'm quite willing to let anyone of the people who disagree with me or anyone else for that matter organise our attendance at Wheels. Most of the information is in the post regarding the event and half the work is done already. I'm quite happy and willing to assist anyone if they are willing to take on the responsibility of running the day for SAU.

Better include them, the poltically correct will make you a demon for not inviting them.

Maybe because people have differing opinions as you can see from the poll. This is not about stopping anyone for attending any event, but about displaying the cars this forum is dedicated to. I only asked those to post with differing opinions, which I welcome. Please don't infer from a few posts that everyone feels the same as you. Off the subject but related, having been to a few motorcycle rallies when people started letting in cars, the rallies turned into camp outs for anyone that didn't feel they needed to bring a bike. The numbers initially went up, then dropped off to the point some rallies are not even running any more. The main focus the bike had been lost, it was a group of people with little in common which then turned into a small group of friends. Is SAU a group of friends, or is it a forum dedicated to the passion of a marque of a motor car where everyone with the same interest can be friends.

I'm of the opinion that when SAU displays they display Skyline or Skyline related models. Just think about it, does the Ferrari club allow people with other cars to become members yes, as does SAU. Do you expect a shitbox Sigma to be on display in the middle of the Ferrari's, NO. SAU like most groups is inclusive of all, based upon a interest in the Skyline model. We should display Skylines so everyone can see the type of car they are expressing an interest in by being a "member" of SAU. If SAU ACT wants to take a different direction and make this a generic car club, maybe we should request renaming the forum. That is my quick summary, if others have an opposing opinion feel free to post below. What ever the group wants goes.

Thanks to the owner of a lovely R33 GTR V-spec, I've managed to test what I needed. Big thumbs up.

We want all and any skylines. Yes Michelle, all SAU is invited to attend as a social event as has always been the case. For the display you must have a skyline (or another car with a very good skyline body kit :-).

See this link for information http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sh...-M-t258639.html Anyone with a Skyline/GTR is invited to attend, the more cars we get the more impressive it is. Please post your interest in coming and your type of car. Currently attending: GTRKat R32 GTR a20089 R33 GTR Bob R35 GTR (to re-confirm)

What is it: A car show Cost: $0 Date: 22 March 2008 Time: 9am - 3pm (To be confirmed) What happens at the day: Everyone meets on the day, drives to the show ground, parks their car with the group. We all set up a tent sit around and chat car stuff etc, while doing that go for a walk and view all the other cars on show and see the events that are on. It would be great this year to have a demonstration of the GTR evolution from R32 to R35 (or earlier) The day is run for Shannons by the EJ-EH holden club. http://www.ejehholdenact.org.au/ http://www.actmotorclubs.org.au/go/shannons-wheels-2008 If you can not make it on time, just tell us and we'll try to leave some space. If you need to leave early no problems. Please post in the ACT thread if you would like to attend.

Just to let everyone know, Shannons Wheels expo is officially still on March 22nd. This may be the last year on the grass. -
Sorry there Matt, Mis interpreted the Canberra cruisers thread. You purchased it there and the other guy was selling. I agree, after theives steal your car, they normally do a cold start and rev the shit out of it, not good. I agree that it's better often to never see your car again. My last one got stolen but found dumped. To much damage to repair but it was bad to see the gild I'd spent 10 years with in the aami yard all crooked. Michelle when you have time, can you consider starting a thread with costs/advantages etc on this GPS tracking in Canberra as you obviously know more then most about it.
-
Considering it's insurred and you wanted to sell it, maybe someone up there (or down there) likes you. Blessing so to say. Now if only someone would pay the excess. Good luck with it all.
-
Will keep an eye out. I'm assuming it's not insured?

How does a home cooked dinner sound to you? Maybe a case of beer? or something else that takes your fancy. I need to borrow for 5 min your rear attessa computer to check a fault with mine. Just drive up, it take about 5 min to unscrew, then put into my car, turn the car on see if the fault codes still exist, then return to your car. Should take 15 min in all. As these computers are not cheap, I'd really like to confirm my computer is FUBAR before buying a new one. Need a V-spec as it controls the A-Dif and everyone else I know has the standard GTR.
