i know what you mean steve. i say he was damn unlucky, considering what we know about this place. Yeah the cops dont drive fast cars unless its on the wangan or other stretcher of long straight road. thats where their gtrs and nsxs come into play. still..the fines are outfeckinrageously expensive. imagine what wouldve happened if he was caught in oz doing that... books would be getting thrown around. btw, you manage to sell your 3 yet? ill be an evo owner too very soon. wifey and i have about a mil up our sleeves. that should net us a nice 5 or 6. cant wait to hit the twisty stuff. again, laurence, you have my commiserations. you might actually hve to cut back on your chu-hi consumption for a while..
-
they are notorious here for their fines.. they dont mind you having a slammed, chopped, blown, lit up, flame throwing, defectable, nos injected rice burner but if they catch you speeding in it.. whoa momma, look out.
-
thats a hard hit isnt it mate? just think..it couldve been worse. That couldve been a pink slip in the mail instead.. personally, i had thousands of dollars in fines back in oz and ive only just managed to clear it up after 3 years of payments..!! just think... in ozzie dollars $5k is quite a chunk of change but when you think of it in yen, it desnt seem to feel so bad..its only yen after all. what i dont understand is how they managed to get you.. was it through the vid? i mean was that you filming? i didnt see any plates and if that was you who ghosted them on the other side of the road, there shouldnt have been any problem..

...ive got a pretty good idea who you are. im gathering that if you know me, you know Phu, so my next question is whats your car like? why dont you save me the suspense and just tell me? i was tossing up between a GTR and an Evo. The evo is going to work out cheaper in the long run and its rarer on SA roads but more so before than now.. still, they go pretty cheap here. you can pick up a 3 or 4 for as little as 5 grand or even less. im aiming for an evo 7, but my limit is a bit over a mil. Poida should be able to help with that if he ever ends up hooking me up with his auction mate.. in a perfect world, id have the evo wagon but 3 mil is pushing it. whoever you are, taking into account we know each other, things are going so much better than they ever did in SA. a fresh change was what i needed. oh and btw, did you know i got married? you probably wont believe that either..
-
you stay out of this pete. not like you didnt know i had the colt anyway. visit me at the servos..?? i gathered you were from SA coz i checked your card but ill be buggered if i can pin it down. and what ride might you have mr "im not telling you who i am". btw, i might have had a POS colt but the evo im buying soon while im here in Japan is definitely a big step up and away from any POS status i may have had previously! theres a good chance you drive a skyline and if you do ill most likely know who YOU are.
-
who the hell are you?? youve got me all freaked out now...
-
im gathering your talking about pete, right? well..do share your experiences, there N/A! or have i got it the other way around? do we know each other?
-
alright mate, i stand corrected. but do us a favour will ya? i cant find the disk you gave me with those vids on it. when you get a chance can you dig up the other and stick it on this thread? cheers pete.
-
being the "great" mate that you are, you have conveniently forgotten to add the video of me going with Hiroshi first... remember who got you the ride, Pete..or have you forgotten that too? i still remember the tears in your eyes when you found i out i was gettin the ride and you werent!!! so i talked that chick into taking you too... give credit where credit is due, you buttplug!

The team is going to invite everyone and anyone to have a microscopic rendition of their name printed onto the car if they so wish. the sponsors names will not be present on the car but will be featured on the website i listed. you can count on the fact that at best this deal will have a 1 or 2 race limit from which time Honda will have chosen a more traditional livery. they definitely wont be going the whole season looking like that. just think back to the monaco GP when Red Bull decked the team out in Star Wars livery complete with C3PO and Chewbacca. that was only a one race deal. dont be surprised when the same thing happens with the honda team.

while you have made some points that i will agree with, your post gave across the impression that the 86 was a "corolla" to what many australians would think of as a normally aspirated FWD car not worth owning. the 86 has been intentionally encouraged to not be associated with such a stigma, hence why you will see hardly anyone referring to them as corollas either in australia or in japan, except ofcourse yourself. Every car has at some point been raced or rallied. even a 120Y has been raced in the classic adelaide. thats not my point. I have driven "corollas" and i found them uninspiring, to say the least, especially in FWD configuration. I have also driven 86's. i live in japan, have friends in the drift scene here and have found them to be an inspiring drive, rewarding on the limit, extremely well balanced, tunable, with plenty of support yet why anyone would bother spending money on any other "corolla", as you put it, in competition now, is beyond me. again for the record, i dont consider the 86 to be a "corolla". badge or no. as an aside, in reference to your comment about my name, i happen to very much like the m3 gtr. its one of BMW's finest cars to date. plus its a psuedonym for an M3 and a GTR which are two of my favourite cars. instead of trying to invoke a flame war and putting my name into your sights, lets stick to the discussion without the petty cheap shots, shall we?

heres a link on the website opening on the 27th of feb.. http://www.myearthdream.com and here are some pics of the car at launch.. http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_gal...?fes_gal_id=698

its the real livery i can confirm. The team is adopting a "green" stance in response to global warming, although how you can link green to F1 remains a mystery to me considering theyve covered 50 thousand odd miles in testing.... i really like the livery. talk about a fresh change in the paddock. that car will stand out like the proverbial come raceday and earn the team some big publicity. This all explains why the car has been running in testing with the interim black livery. It turns out they were in discussions with the former manager for the spicegirls ( God help us ) over the proposed plan to increase consumer awareness of F1 for the younger generation. at the very least it will proved something to talk about leading up to melbournes opener in mid march..

Suzuka 2006...schumies Penultimate Race
m3gtr replied to m3gtr's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
i appreciate that you appreciate the thread! i just wanted to post it to show what happened to me..its probably never going to happen again so why not do it while ive got the chance..? id kick myself until i die if i was in a postion like that and didnt take full advantage of it.. -
youve made an extremely strange comment there mate... on one hand you admit to the 86 being "extremely rewarding to drive on the limit" but then make reference to them being 23 year old corollas.... hmm.. since when has a "corolla" of any type and any spec EVER been rewarding to drive under ANY circumstances? oh and the 86 has nothing to do with the corolla by the way..its based on what Oz would refer to as the sprinter platform and most corollas come in front wheel drive.
