  4. Well I really don't want to lose the VCT as this project is based on a Neo head with an RB26 Block. I have also adapted the RB26 ITBs and toying with the idea of doing a twin turbo setup. If anyone has a scrapped Neo head it will be very helpful. I will pay to have the stock items shipped to me over here in Trinidad in the West Indies. This project is not urgent as I have other pending projects so whenever I get them I get them but I would like to have them in hand for the future build. Jason.

  6. Okay I am reworking a Neo head and it so happens that the head I got is missing some parts. I initially thought I would just swap over my parts from my running head when needed but now I am thinking that I want to get the parts and keep my running head in tact. My question now is what parts from other RB25DET's can be swapped over. I am after, Neo cams, Neo Cam Gears, Four intake valves, four exhaust valves, four buckets/lifters with springs and retainers and also the four shims as well (four intake and four exhaust buckets and shims) and lastly all the cam caps with bolts and cam oiling lines. What size are the guides for both intake and exhaust on the Neo head as I want to replace all of these same time as I am working on the head? Let me know what can be used off other RB25DETs or do I have to get Neo specific parts? Yeah I know I should have gotten a complete head but they are quite rare over on this side. Jason.
  7. Top feed low impedance or high impedance is the question? It may need the resistor pack from the GTR as well.
  8. Hmmm ..... although I am in the process of welding my spare 25 Neo head I won't mind getting a set for my standard running ER34 head and have next to no downtime.   9. Damn!!!! Nice work, I am now embarking on this with a Neo R34 head on an RB26 block. Was wondering if you could just clip off the entire end of the plug and just let oil come in from the cam side totally and feed the VCT? Is that even an option rather than drilling the plug and then feeding it to the VCT setup? Any care to let me know what are the effects if this is done?
  10. Definitely sweet from where it came from to now, initialy I had my reservations about touching an R32 but it has turned out a treat. Good work and unique is the word. People are gonna say wow an R34 then they look and say wait where, what hmmmm the quarter glasses ummmmm, what the hell!, hahahaha!!!!!!!
  11. Maybe I can run a thicker headgasket to compensate for the higher CR? Ideally would be to get it CC'ed.
  12. I am almost done with the indivdual throttle setup on the Neo head, did like GTS4WD and changed the bolt holes and retapped, just need to alter the water neck on the throttle setup to accommodate the VCT solenoid. We'll see how it goes. Yeah may be a little wild but what the heck.
  13. Okay so what about using an RB25 Neo head, on an RB26 block and adapting the individual throttles on the Neo head and a big single or even adapting the twin manifolds to the Neo head? I actually have everything to try this, really has me thinking now. I have a damaged RB26 engine and an extra RB25 Neo head. Just a couple of questions but I will still check it out, will I have to bore the bolt holes in the head to allow for the 26 headstuds? Anything else will I have to mod or it should be fine?
  14. Isn't it recommended to have a car tuned immediately after a rebuild, leaving it untuned and leaving the mixture rich can cause rings to not seat properly and inevitably lots of burnt oil from blowby?
  15. I get a 3/4" ratchet spanner and attach a length of pipe to it should come loose but if not them stand on the bar .
  16. Just got confirmation that the crank is bent and that it can straighten it and the mains will have to be ground .010" and the rod journals .020". Your thoughts on this and has anyone ever heard of straightening the crank, the shop said they have a unit specifically used for this process. This is news to me.
  17. Thanks a lot for the responses. Should I worry about removing the nitride coating on the crank. I have read that removing the coating causes the bearing to spin very easy, can someone confirm that has ground their crnak and has been running it for years?

  19. Yes I was looking on the ACL site but I wanna make sure that I can get the bearings before I go ahead and begin the repair process. Seeing that people are suggesting it is possible to fix it then I will go ahead and get it done and order a set of bearings based on the size after machine work. This is going on a spare RB26DETT that I am going to be building up. It is getting some CPs and rods. Will let you know how it goes and I will contact ACL tomorrow to get a definite answer.
  20. Hi people, once again I have a question. I got a second hand crank from a friend that replaced it for his build, it is an R34 crank 05U on the crank and the engine had a spun bearing. I got the crank checked and the machine shop said that they may have to remove .010-.020 on the rod journal and at the same time do all to measure up. They said that the mains are all fine, what I want to know is if I have the crank ground can I get rod bearings that are .020 oversize? I spoke to one person and they told me that they only come in .010" nothing more, do I have an option for bigger sizes in the rod bearings? Let me know ASAP so I can know if I need a next crank, reason I took the crank in the first place is that it already had the long snout. Jason.
  21. Whereabouts can I order the ACL rings from and are they piston specific or just bore specific? Meaning do I ask for an 86.5mm set of ACL piston rings? I have no problem spending the extra on them. Jason.
  22. The R34 turbos are suppose to be ballbearing steel blade turbos so the oil restrictor should be a .035" for the R32 and R33 journal bearing turbos the restrictor should be .06". I am doing over my lines with braided ones and I am going to be putting restrictors on my Nismo turbos.
  23. Very nice work. How much do the JUN cam cap bolts go for?
  24. Check your timing and also your TPS voltage (0.45V at closed throttle and 4.5-5V at WOT). Car just needs to be switched on to check this not started. Also make sure the MAF is getting a proper reading. Yes the plugs are under the cover with the coils.
  25. Check forst boost leaks, there is probably loose intercooler piping and hoses and check for other vacuum leaks.
