  1. yep and finished 5th in modern from memory after blowing turbos a couple of stages before Longford on day 2?. Was not standard as any of you would know if you have seen the 94 targa video.
  2. yep. absolute legend. I guess if a datsun cant win then jimmy in a volkswagon is the next best option !!!!!!
  3. Ok here we go R33 genuine N1's 806Steve Glenney SA1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 what an absolute gun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 914 Jeff Keyte, TAS 1998 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 Mines R34 genuine N1's 934 John White, TAS 2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II N1 941 Peter Moore, 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II N1 942 George Nittis, 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II N1 were also R32 and R33 GTR N1 "replicas" check www.targa.org.au for more information
  4. could different widths cause a problem via aspect ratio?? eg 225/50/16 radius= (16/2)*2.54+(225*0.5)=315.7mm rolling circumference = 2*3.1415*315.7 =1982mm 245/50/16 radius= (16/2)*2.54+(245*0.5)=325.7 rolling circumference = 2*3.1415*325.7 =2045mm % difference =(2045-1982)/2045*100 =3% Is this why datsuns have the same size tires front to rear. Volkswagons on the other hand 993 911 turbos have mixed aspect ratio tires due to their different tire widths. 40 series front and 35 rear but dont quote me thoughts ??????
  5. RE: traction tires yep they supply 032R'S, not sure what else they have or can get but they seem really good to deal with,
  6. Yep second. bloody good effort especially yesterday when he got to within 15 seconds of richards. check all results on www.targa.org.au
  7. depends on the model as to what the differences are. but basically N1 was designed for "production class" group N racing. They were made in R32 (228) only one in Australia R33 and R34 The difference are: (someone will blow me out of the water here as I am not sure of all the differences) base model is usually a V-spec but with the following additions at the factory... ie during production steel wheel N1 turbos different ECU mapping N1 water pump N1 oil pump N1 block different pistons and rods oil coolers for diff, gear box and engine (engine oil to H2O) no A/C though it could be spec'd up (pannel still there) white in colour carbon bonnet on 34 faster sample rate for the ATTESSA faster sample rate for ABS (no ABS on R32????) different sacale on instruments speedo boost gauge etc larger exhaust under tray and diffusers depending on model someone must be running one of these in targa, or an N1 replice that could add to this or correct the list steve from justjap or targa very hard to find out information when you dont speak japanese this is a copy of imformation I have placed elsewhere As silly as it sounds Nissan may be able to varify, perhaps through someone like Hornsby nissan, who deal a lot with nissan japan due to the work they do on GTR's (R32 dealer) Also: evo-r had one which did not have the build plates on it Jeff Keyte running one in targa as is Steve Glenney AVO in melbourne did a 3L conversion on one hope this helps a little Cheers Alex

  9. FYI This is not the R34 v-spec II N1 GTR that was in Targa last year. It was for sale at powerplay imports, it will be at targa this year the car ran rally Tas. 2003. One of three genuine R34 N1's running in Targa not bad going eh.
  10. Yep im with Ken RS4-2 im running these with std rotors they work really well in all conditions, dust minimal, they do squeel a bit though on light pedal applications. speak to Barry Smith Motorsport in Sydney www.bmsport.com.au [email protected] they have to cut the rears to suit price was about $800 for both ends including freight. hope this helps
  11. Not written off!!!! front end damage, pushed wheel back and up into inner guard. Was running again a couple of weeks after from all reports. They also had a near miss on the run into Savage, only just got the car back on the road. Savage quite a long stage and the car "ran out of tyres" Cant be that bad if they are going to run in Targa can it????? Datsun versus Volkswagon should be a good show
  12. FYI targa entries in Datsuns this has been taken from this years targa guide: 801 91 R32 WakujiroKobayashi 802 98 R33 V spec N1 mines Jeff Keyte Joanne Keyte 803 93 R32 Steve Thatcher Stella Plenderleith 806 95 R33 V spec N1 Steve Gleeney Clayton Lang 808 95 R33 V spec Dean Evans Paul Fourie 816 95 R33 V spec Paul Bergmann David Ovenden 817 97 R33 V spec John Atherton Ian Young 819 95 R33 V spec David Ayres David Dungey 833 95 R33 V spec James Miedecke Peta Roberts 934 01 R34 V specII N1 John White Jason White 941 02 R34 V specII N1 Peter Moore Stuart Boyce 942 00 R34 V spec N1 George Nittis David Carra I have put in the list the cars which I believe are genuine N1's as opposed to those that run the "N1" spec for targa.
  13. would you please send exhause photo to [email protected], cheers Alex
  14. As with most datsun parts it obviously pays to shop around! One of the problems I have found with Nissan Australia is they dont always have the parts in stock. But in this case $145 looks hard to beat

  16. Anyone keen to try and get one off the ground in Tassie???? or knows of one already in existance????? Any input or ideas???

    Oil temps

Datsun oil temps are normally quite high. how high are your temps getting?????? My std R32 will run up to 110 degrees after 10 reasonably quick laps. In Targa before oil coolers the solution was to tape up the gauge (as the needle would go off scale) but change the oil daily with no damage apparently!!!!!. N1 cooler runs oil to water cooling so oil will never be below the water temp not ideal. Earls make a complete kit apparently for $1600 with thermostat. Black 33 running in targa class has one of these I think. All the other jap after market people do kits also for a small fortune....... Is the subaru going again?????? the great Waldo reckons it was going to have 800hp what is the real figure?????? hows the gearbox????? and the clutch ?????? Know of any cheap 16" WRX wheels
  20. CAR R32 GTR STOCK ROTORS DOT 4 castrol brake fluid Stock Nissan GTR pads worked quite well up to a point, high wear rate, low dust not much noise, average pedal feel though Bendix Ultimate. fade very easily, lots of dust, lots of smoke, but for $85 per end you can not expect a lot. I put these on because I could not get anything else quickly Pagid RS4-2. no fade yet, some dust, they squeal quite a lot, good pedal feel, and great initial bite. the main problem is the price approx $400 each end. CAR RX7 Have also used mintex comp pads but not on a datsun. they squeal when cold, good feel though, price was about $200 an end.
  21. NISPARES Telephone 61 3 97206414 or 97298497 FAX 61 3 97294082 www.nispares.com.au [email protected] GTR WATER PUMP SUIT ALL PERFORMANCE RB ENGINES EG RB30ET HAS HIGHER FLOW RATE $275 Ask for Dayle hope this helps
  22. If you want to disable attessa and ABS on a 32 you can while coasting. walking pace is enough. turn the ignition off. (caution straight roads are best for this. also loose power steer brake assistance etc) then turn ignition back on and restart. ABS and 4WD lights will stay on ie no attessa no ABS. makes the car quite different to drive. the system will restart the first time you come to a complete stop or when you turn ignition off then on again.
  23. There is a hill climb at the domain cross roads on sunday is anyone thinking of running???????????????????
  24. FYI R33 black veilside body kit. lots of power 270 odd kw at wheels. Silver R33 not quite stock AP 6 pistons on front cage nardi wheel semi-slicks, going to be run in targa as UK spec N1 cooler etc. Black 32 Australian delivered 33 wheels brake upgrade, Burnt orange GTR R32 (rego) exhaust and cooler ???? Burgandy R32 Australian delivered basically stock R33 turbos with steel wheels running 8psi(std), HD clutch, total engine rebuild 11000 kms ago. Pagid RS4-2 brake pads(very big improvement). exhaust shortly. Also badly in need of tyres....... Falken Azenis AZRT215 i think will b the choice it is my car Other Datsuns I have seen and think r Tasmanian White 34 V-spec at Symmons plains WHR R34 N-1 black 33 volk wheels R33 N-1 mines black 33 V-spec X-targa silver 33 set up for Targa????? white 33 followed on bridge the other day
