  2. o_o
  3. your mate sounds pretty cool
  4. I'm just a prick to people who think they're better and rules don't apply to them. Eh, I know people will get caught, then that's one less idiot on the road. WIN WIN.
  5. anyone up for some BC2 tonight? will be playing pub, probably rush. ver much enjoying rush. still only lv3 but i'm noobing it up slowly. am in the SAU steam group (owe84n) edit: won't be home till 9pm
  6. could have been encyclopedia dramatica...
  7. Makes sense I dunno, I'm just VERY wary of spending over $50 on something that is that cheesy. Borderlands was cheesy but not horribly so, but DNF... I dunno, I guess I'm not a fan of "super macho", and his "aliens meh, OMG THE WOMENS I'M SUCH A STUD I GOTTA GO SAVE THEM" and the scenes where he's getting a blowjob from them or whatever. I guess to me it seems like something a 13 year old would make, but eh, I'll play it anyway.
  8. Got the latest PS3 firmware? I've had some troubles over WiFi with various things; if possible try an Ethernet cable? The 1.05 patch is 608Mb...
  9. GODDAMMIT sigh that's why you bastards were playing CSS last night. Will def keep an eye out for next week/time.
  10. The way I'm seeing is that when the Other OS feature was removed, they annoyed a LOT of users who were running *nix on it. If they wanted to play online, they'd have to update their firmware and lose that. As per the analogy above: It's like Nissan coming over to my house (and everyone else with a Skyline) and saying, I'm removing your turbo and you're not ever allowed to put a turbo on your car again, nor tell anyone how they can do it. If you do, I'll sue the shit out of you. If I buy a product, then the only thing I believe the company should be able to do is ADD features to it, not remove. So yes, while some people will use this for piracy, a LOT of people just want it for running *nix and homebrew (and this is where the PS3 devs of tomorrow come from! Can't learn the system if you can't play with it!). EDIT:: Also as said by Birds: WP7 got jailbroken, so what did MS do? Called the guys up, invited them over to have a look at what was new in WP7, give a full tour and have chats about what can be done to the system, and gave them some shirts. http://www.istartedsomething.com/20110118/chevronwp7-all-i-got-was-this-lousy-shirt/
  11. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/21/exclusive-duke-nukem-forever-has-a-release-date.aspx Now, while some people might be ecstatic about this, after watching the trailer, I'm cringing. The world has grown up, and we're not all "hurr hurr" about boob jokes anymore. I almost find myself hoping this makes nowhere near the investment put into it. This is the kind of game that sends the wrong message about games to the wider populace (that and all the herp-derp from everyone at that expo where it was revealed). The health-bar is "Ego", and refills... sigh. Anyone else's thoughts?
  12. GET THE f**k OUT. If you don't have respect for the hard work that some of these people do, you're not welcome here. Yes, some of them are bastards, but there are a LOT of good cops out there doing the right thing. A few bad apples doesn't make the whole of them a bunch of dream boats. So if you're going to keep this attitude, you're invited to not come back. I'll follow that logic: People who don't know the word "drowned" should be "drown" at birth. Seems silly, doesn't it?
  13. Put the money aside, then roll with June
  14. Ahh, that sucks. Nothing that can be done though Steve, we know you do what you can. I still don't understand why people own what are by definition sports cars, and not attend events in them.
  15. And I gotta take a vid for the fella cause times didn't line up properly last weekend
  16. Ok, fuggit, I'm comin to this one. probably no massive skids tho. i'll pay next week; gotta wait till payday
  17. your mileage may vary
  18. Guess it's a YMMV? Spose it would depend on the trade (and therefore the demand for it in the area)? Either way, if you've made it work for yourself, good on you
  19. No idea if you can get them or not anymore, but my Momo Corse is heaps quiet

  23. People != All people. There'll always be people out there who think they can drive in the wet how they do in the dry, and conversely, there's people who stay aware at all times and adjust accordingly. I'd like to say I'm the latter, but I'm probably more in the middle.
  24. ON THE DAY The early-birds get there around 7.30am to set up and to start all the paperwork going (and have a chat), but driver's briefing is at 8.40am. Please don't get there at 8.30; your car needs to be scrutinised to ensure there's nothing horribly wrong with it prior to getting on the pad. Scrutinising includes: -No oil leaks -No loose items in cars (subs, floor mats, bags, etc) -No screamer pipes Here's a link to the last scrutineering sheet to give you an idea what to check: (LINK TO SCRUTINEERING FORM? Anyone wanna help out with this?) As a rough guide, getting there at ABSOLUTE LATEST 8.00 is the way to go. Gives you time to do all your paperwork, get your car number, do scrutineering, and change tyres/whatever other mechanical work you need to do, including getting everything out of your car that's loose. The day goes from 9am to 4.30pm, and you'll get quite a few runs in. A fair few people head off at around 3 or so, as it can get quite exhausting, and some of us have a long drive home. This works out good for those who stay; more pan time! HOW IT WORKS Morning courses are set up and run for half the day. You have a "left" course and a "right" course. In the afternoon, they're switched over to battle courses, where you do the same track side-by-side with another car. We all line up in the carpark and have a go one at a time, with one person on each "side" at a time. MORNING COURSES Here's videos of the last two texi's morning courses: Left Course: Looped course: ......crap I'm having a hard time finding a video. I've got one on my laptop but I'm on a train right now so I'll upload when I get to work. Cloverleaf: Eric's video again… Direct link to a 180 doing it right (video jumps to the right time): Right Course: The right course involves a "go-to-whoa" section, where you accelerate hard, then brake to finish within a box. Use Eric's video above, and jump to 2m25s. Afternoon Battle Courses: Eric's video again, 6m30s. We all roll out on the tarmac at the far end, line up, and do battle. Awesome adrenaline rush trying to beat someone when you've got a direct reference to how well you're doing. NOTE, these are changing this texi, apparently. Battles will no longer be done side by side, but be done in the format of the morning courses; the pad split in two. NOW WHAT? Hopefully this has convinced you that it's an awesome day, and we want to go out there and just have fun TL,DR: JUST COME ALONG AND HAVE FUN.
