  2. yes direct replacement. (do it when car is cold..hahahaha) no don't need to swap for race days. actually, an rb25 turbo works easier/less to create 10 psi than the stock rb20 item. so in reality it is in a much better climate than your stock turbo would have been.
  3. are you talking from experience? where you used it and it broke your AFM? cause when I cleaned my skyline AFM once every 2 months with Degreaser, it had no problems. electrical contact cleaner will work obviously.. but most garages contain degreaser.. not many have electrical contact cleaner. if you want to go and buy a can of it then do that. degreaser works fine,.
  4. Air flow meter? might as well take it off and clean it. (it's the little black box bolted to the air box or on the back of the pod filter just incase you don't know where it is) unplug it take the hose clamps off take it out of the engine bay. spray some degreaser in it, then hose it out (when I say hose i just mean running water.. don't turn the hose on full blast. it is sensitive.) then let it dry and put it back on and see how it is. it's a free thing to try and might just fix it.

  7. well considering the R32 GTS4 *4wd not 4 door) uses the same gearbox to GTR, I would assume the R33 4wd would be the same.
  8. um.. do you mind weighing the wheels? I just want to know what the weight is (on a bathroom scale) of one of the rims with the wider tyre on it. cheers.

  11. 170 rwkw - Cheapest option. Hybrid. that doesn't mean they are crap. they are cheap. there are people with well over 250rwkw with those coolers. ARC is some damn good quality stuff though.. but I can't justify that much money for a heat exchange. Alternatively, GET a R33 gtr cooler and get custom pipes made up. That will be my option for my next car.. if it doesn't already have FMIC..
  12. yep. there should be a bolt holding it down but they tend to break off. years of heating and cooling and so forth. you'll find others along the heat shield that are still on there. if it really bothers you, take another out of the heatshield and go get a matching bolt and put it in the hole.
  13. if you hadn't missed third and managed the same trap speed as the other 13.1 run, with the 1.9 60" time.. you might have got a 13.00 or possibly just in to a 12.99 area. what wheels/tyres? how much tyre pressure did you have? what suspension? 16psi boost? what turbo? nice work for your first outing.. will get much better as you get used to it

  15. I assume you were calling someone else a dumbarse as I don't recal saying anything bad about your car. All I wanted to know was what a studio apartment worth of money went on a skyline. as for seeing it at autosalon... pass. I'll spend my money on food rather than that. cheers.
  16. r33 with exhaust pod and 10psi beats an STI.. wake up you lying ***ing clown.. Unless the 01 STI bodged the launch, you would have no idea. that model sti seems to have nothing below 3500-4000rpm so it's possible he stuffed up the launch or he didn't bother racing a ***ing skyline with 19 inch rims.. cause you know.. the skyline then has the traction advantage. 19" inch wheels for traction.. for crying out loud, do you have any idea what the hell you are talking about? I am laughing at you... so are heaps of others on here.. Thizzle.. I want to hear what $110K went on. if rigoli name doesn't phase you I'm comfortable that you have already run at least a low 11, high 10 second pass. Can you give us a mod list or a dyno graph.. or a timeslip.. cheers fella.
  17. weird.. just take them both off, wash them both with degreaser, spray them both with WD40 and connect them back up. see if it goes like that in a few weeks time.

  19. LW - I was just trying to make the point of the stock GTR air box with a panel filter is going to be a better option that PODS in the engine bay. AND it is cheaper to buy a stock air box and new panel filter, than it is to buy an aftermarket heat shield/air box which probably still uses tha factory snorkel.. to shield off the dirty used pods that would have come with the car from japan. you will be able to produce the same power (possibly more) if using stock turbo's and maybe even with after market turbo's.. the cost of buying a stock airbox and panel filter is going to be cheaper than buying a heat shield for sure. and give a better result.

  22. OK I'll go another route. Stock air box, Piper cross panel filter, custom stainless pipe to replace stock rubber one between turbo/s and AFM. maybe ask Sydney Kid the max power he has seen from that set up on a GTR. Honestly, when I had my GTST (R32) and had a pod filter, the thing was only producing like 155rwkw and the engine bay was so hot, the intake temps were like in the 60's during sydney traffic. so imagine the engine bay of a gtr with 2 turbo's producing obviously more power. and 2 pods taking up the same room. even hotter air there for sure. the stock air box is good.

  24. I think both those prices are expensive. I wouldn't pay over $11K for 89 model that is modified. I wouldn't pay over $16K for a 92, 93 model with minor mods. (exhaust, filter, etc..) there is a black one on these forums with an RB25 and 200+rwkw for $15K I think.. I believe he just took it off the market though.. but it will come back on.
