  1. if its causing you too much trouble, you should be able to get a full refund (probably with CAs help) for the car. basically just end the pain, and start looking for a new car from a different yard
  2. I picked it up this morning from the wharfs!!!!!RARARARAR!!!!!!! i did about 50 the whole way to the compliance workshop... i didnt want it to end! everything has gone soooo smoothly with the importing, just fantastic, everyone has been really good to me. so i couldnt be happier! heres some pics if anyone else wants a look =) /me stops showing off, and the pics dont do it justice... quarintine people were like, "wow, is basically a new car under here" as they were inspecting it i was going to take it home and wash it and play with it over the weekend, but the guys at PVP said to just bring it in. so in about 2 weeks it should be on the road and causing people to re-think their choice of automobile =P
  3. hey were a computer store, we probably refer to each other more by our nicks than our real names =P and its a daily occourance that we get asked for by our nick names... how i got it, well, its a tale better left left untold (or perhaps edited for kid friendly ness =D) we dont have that product on the shelf, we'd have to order it in, comes from interstate, so probably 1-2 days to get it in (overnight if we have anything else to buy from that supplier) oh, and im out of the shop tommorow morning.. as im picking um my new skyline!!!!! RARARARARR!!!!!!!! the wait is almost over!!!!! but i'll be there in the afternoon, drop by, have a chat if ya like, show us your car and carputer =P
  4. i was told be my japanese dealer that shipping insurance will only cover salvage fees if the ship sinks, however if you car falls of the ship or is damaged in any way shape or form on the ship, its not covered and you have to just suck it up and no one will insure you for that kind of damage/theft you may want to check what your actually going to be paying for with the insurance before you get it (and feel free to correct me if im wrong). It seems like kiwi actually cover veichle damage, but from what i've read getting them to pay for it seems to be pain best of luck with it all
  5. NISSAN R32 GTR BLACK $26,990 - its just a standard 1994 gtr jess (if i remember corectly you were after a v-spec?) http://www.sinergymotorsports.com.au/thumb...s.php?album=212
  6. the SP13000 is probably one of the best epia motherboards you can get for the job (but i think you already knew this), but for those that dont the reason is that it has a Integrated VIA UniChrome™ Pro AGP graphics with MPEG-2 decoder /MPEG-4 Accelerator windows XP is good, just make sure you hae service pack 2 on it (as some digital tuners play up or dont work at all without it) yeah, digital tuners do use more CPU than anolouge, this is mainly to do with the massive differance in video resolution and sound quality (just note i didnt actually comment on anolouge tuners, just PCI vs USB and what digital tuners do =)). Digital TV is bordcast in an MPEG format, meaning that is is basically uncompress raw data so it doesnt need to decode anything (implies its using some compressed form of codec, mpeg is uncompresed), however it does have other things transmitted in the stream including the copy protection crap. The high "recomended CPU" for digital tuners is due to the ability to time shift, to do this the system needs to do lots of things and the same time and to cover their asses, TV tuner companies exagerate the amount of CPU required anyhow, enough of this rabbiting on, you have hardware mpeg accelerators... the tuner you want...... http://www.avermedia.com/cgi-bin/products_...A828.asp?show=1 its the AVerTV Hybrid+FM Volar from Avermedia. Its the only one i could find that does Digital TV, Anolouge TV and FM in the form of a USB stick we normaly do it for $155, but for a fellow SAU member, i recon i could get away with $140 for you. comes with a 1 year waranty (return to us, and well help you out) Let me know if you want to get one (adrenalin computers 8410 0777), ask for fishpaste, everyone at work knows who that is =) thanks
  7. Okay, need to know a few things before i recomend some products for you. what OS are you running? (linux, winxp, win MCE, Vista?) what hardware are you running? (it sounds like you might be using an Epia or Via CPU based system) you can get pci riser cards in 1, 2 or 3 slot heights and probably would be a slightly better way to go (you will find a PCI card to do what you want fairly easily, however i havent seen a USB product as yet) pci vs usb? essentually no differance at all - 1 is internal, 1 is external. In the old days PCI cards were better than onbaord devices for CPU usage but for more than 4 years now hasent been a differance. But with Digital tuners its even less of an issue, as the digital signal is an mpeg4 video/audio stream being broadcast threw the air, all the tuner does is select what channel you want to view and pass you the information. The only down side is there is soo much information being passed to the computer it need a reasonable CPU (generally 1.6ghz or faster) to display this information in real time - note this is different for an anologue tv tuner. hope this helps
  8. picture of gtr guages for you.... admitadly not the std ones.. but nissan ones none the less =)
  9. send me an e-mail at work (see link in sig), i should be able to help you out no problems.... off the top of my head for USB digital tuner the compro U500 http://www.comprousa.com/New/en/dvb-t.html problem with FM tuners is the are an anologue product, so they will only come with an anolouge tv tuner, unless the manufacture has included both analogue and digital tuners in/on the 1 product there are 1/2 height tuners avalible (not the full size of a pci card) these may be an option for you as far as signal is concerned, your gonna need a reasonable antenna stashed away in your car, with digital if the signal stregth is not stong enough you will not get any picture at all (where as analogue will just get fuzzier) probably look into car specific antenas for TV for some of the head unit manufactures, sould be able to hook any FM tuner up to your standard car arial, so there should be no differance in quality hope this helps PS. other brands to look at: hauppauge, twinhan and nebula (my favorite)
  10. i would, probably holding some 2x4 =P the point made by Jeremy Clarkson from top gear: you can "defend" yourself if someone breaks into your house, but whats in your house thats worth money, a TV perhaps woth about $2000 at best??, however someone breaking into your car, they can be worth $15,000+ easy (lots more for some of us). why cant we be allowd to protect that investment with as much force as neccesary?? sure would stop lots of car theft if you could frack up some tool breaking into your car, paging systems would be worth their weight in gold =) but i guess its an age old argument... one that we'll never win =(
  11. i think kansai got a small batch of them in with their last container. give them a call, they might be able to hook you up http://www.kansaiautomotive.com/
  12. what car and heights were you running at the time (if you dont mind me asking)?
  13. Just off of the phone with regency, supposidly the legal/std height for an r32 gtr is 365 for the frount and 355 for the rear. does this sound right to anyone? i heard regency height is more like 372 or 375... anyone able to confirm etc? or should i just take random guy @ regencys word for it? (i might have to do my suspension in the next couple of weeks to get the car past regency, looking at using sk's kit) thanks
  14. spotted vange... on the road! =) driving past my work today at about 12 (i was behind you in the bosses ford) as you turned onto hindley street nice looking car, i bet it looks even better under the hood
  15. I know your expecting this one Serty-1, spotted you on morphet road on my way home from basketball (about 10:20pm), pulled over and talking on the phone... it was a shame it was so dark, was hoping to get a better look at the car. I was in the rather old camry, pritty sure you spotted me throwing on the anchors to get a better look at the car =P
  16. If there is a cruise involved, late arpil will be better for me (as its when i hope to have my car on the road ) so my vote is for Sat april 28th, if there is a cruise bowling is the go, if there isnt, go karting has got my vote (it can be rather exhausting go karting all day, but then have to go out for a cruise... asking for trouble imo) my 2c, anyone else?
  17. $350 inc postage? anyone? if your considering it, PM me with an offer Thanks
  18. i find if you start going around in circles they tend to give up and stop following you, can also go threw a drive threw, or fill up with petrol. the WuTang Clan tend to have very short attention spans
  19. by law they have to tell you what they are, so if the big white sign with blue writing says: "Red Light Camera" it's only a red light camera; if it says "Red Light & Speed Camera" then its a speed camera 24/7, and a red light camera when appropriate. If you go back past the intersection and see what it says, then your going to know what you can get busted for. =) safe travels =P
  20. the new phone has had a drop in price since i got it =( so $450 inc postage it is now pls help me buy my first skyline thanks

  23. I hadent seen any "plain ol" 94 gtr's around, and all the information thats easily avalible on the net doesnt say much about production runs... i did find one good page the weekend that i bought my car, listing almost all the runs of VINs and what car/year they corresponded to. but i also got some kind people here on the fourms to FAST my car already =) fast? =P If it was looking for a car, i'd be insisting on seeing the japanese auction sheets before buying it. Luckily when i decided to buy my car i knew great, trustworthy people in Japan, who found me an awsome car at a fantastic price =)... just have to wait for a ship =( back to the real point: the japanese auction system is legit as, and seeing the auction sheet for your veichle is still the best way to tell what has happened to it. It just dodgey dealers (both here and in japan) that exploit and perverte the system bringing it into disrepute. there are ways to avoid this, you just have to know what they are and be willing to take the risk and wait for your car to be shipped over to cut long rants short
  24. umm... from what i can tell, didn't they only make V-Spec II's in 1994??
  25. Lol, my mum flipped out and rang me as soon as she saw it because im importing a skyline =) had to calm her down and tell her everything was okay, Japanese autions are the real deal, its was just a dodgey car yard, they could have done it to fords and commodores as well. but yeah, something to be wary of i guess
