Mate No grudge at all - I have no idea who tuned your car - thats why I asked .......... and I didn't bring shit up - I just mearly asked who tuned your car...... So who did it - cause it may be different to who did mine? Dan

DCIEVE I also fogot to mention that a certain holiger equiped car spent hours being retuned at another perth wokshop. Agreed tuning is the key. But more load points (both ignition and fuel) allows for a smoother finer tune.

DCIEVE Simple fact I was trying to make is that Motec or Autronics is a far superior ECU.

Anyone who has doubts - please look at the link a pasted on page 1 and look at the lack of load points, lack of fuctionality, etc the link has compared to a better ecu. Yes the fact that the link doesnt use the AFM is great - and as i said my Link was OK - but just look at the simple facts and you'll see that its lacking badly. Dan

Tom Thats what I said - for about 800/900 bucks seand hand its OK.... BUT Better off savig the extra coin and getting a Great ecu off the bat.

Spooks Yes thats true for most standard ecu - wrx is no different. Just with the link even when tuned well - it will still run alittle rich - its like a built in insurance policy with the link. you'll see if you gt a link ;0>

Also the link is notorious for running rich. You will chew fuel with a link - with any ecu really.

The thing with the link - and i really noticed it compared to my mates wrx with a motec m800 is drivability really is worlds apart. Because the motec has so many load points the tuning ability is miles ahead. Smoother driving, etc all very noticable. But the way you could really tell is in first gear my mate can take his 98 wrx upto about 80/85km (has a holinger dogbox) - and then take his foot straight off the peddle - and the car would smoothly decellaratedown in revs and speed with suck utter smoothness - i was amazing. Take my link ecu wrx up to 70 and take foot of in first and it would roughly come down and hive you that inital jerk ... Miles apart.

Link is a "average" ECU. For its price it is good - but compared to other ECU's its .... crap. I had a link in my WRX ad it was good for what it cost me. In regard to fuel point and ignition points for tunablity its crap compared to Motec, Autronics and even Apexi. It also lacks fuel correction for air temp, full throttle, closed throttle etc,,, Link is crap - dont awaste your time or money - keep saving for a better ecu. That Skyline looks strange - has series 2 rear end, sereis 1 front end ... and a mixed interior... I would stay the fark away .... looks dodgy.... chop shop job maybe????? to many maybe's with that car.... keep looking is my advise. Daniel

Dave I know of many stockish rexes runing better than 13.8 My best mates evo 4 wrx(MY00) - with turbo back exhaust and stand boost ran a 13.4 at kwinana. Dan
