  3. wow, these sound like a great idea! i wish i'd known about this approx a month ago as i just bought new standard size DBA4000 rotors just a quick question though... i see you've been talking about modifying the pads so that it retains optimal face contact with the rotor - what exactly does this involve? i'm not quite understanding how you can use the same size pad as a 280mm rotor and get more face contact? or am i missing something here?

    in this case RACQ wouldn't have helped him much... they would have seen that the problem was due to an accident and anal raped him even more... (this is because their roadside assistance doesn't cover accidents) i.e. when my hicas lock bar snapped, they claimed it was due to an accident (it wasn't) and wanted to charge me $350 to tow the car 5km home, because that is their "accident" callout rate

  16. no, but i was just writing a reply to you about that! sounds like a good idea, if you've got the time and equipment available to you... however, what you have to take into account is the airflow dynamics of it (and don't ask me, 'coz i wouldn't know stuff all about equalising the amount of air that each cylinder receives.) its not as simple as welding the throttle body to the front of the plenum and bob's your uncle (i'm sure u know this though )

  21. i wouldn't worry too much about it... however, if that happens, you should keep driving the car to let the brakes cool down... get some airflow to them... don't stop and put the handbrake on or you risk warping the rotors....
  22. it has between 1/2 and 1/4 of a tank, so it still has a fair bit of fuel in there (i normally take it down to about 1/4) i will fill up with petrol on the way home though and see what it's doing... i might do the fuel pump wiring mod, and get it tuned on the dyno again next week sometime....

Hi all, i'm probably just being overly cautious here, however, i noticed just before that the sound that my Walbro intank pump makes has changed today. it is probably only 3 or 4 months old (tops) and it usually makes the normal aftermarket fuel pump whirring noise, yet i noticed just before, when i moved the car, that the noise has changed. i can't describe how it has changed, other than it being a bit louder, and the noise seems to be a bit 'deeper' in note... does it sound like anything i should worry about?
  24. all the defects last week (i.e. big swoop by the cops) wouldn't have had anything to do with it?
