  1. I also have a clicking sound come from somewhere behind the dash at idle. weird
  2. Maybe it is actually a series 1? I'll be able to check the chassis code for build date when I get home. Although I don't think my S1 has that silver box above the cam cover on the intake pipe.
  3. Not really a whole lot you can do but cross your fingers. It's interesting to see that the engine has the NEO cover removed. It also has a non standard pod filter and earthing kit. Like I said, cross your fingers and have a few grand set aside for work and insurance once it arrives.
  4. I took it down to MV Autos today. Mike seems to be very knowledgable about Stageas. Turns out my clutch has gone. So we are going to replace that and install a shift kit next week.

  6. I haven't started the car up since it happened. (few hours ago) I've only had the car for a couple of weeks and all fluids were replaced at compliance. It only has 2500km to go till 100,000km. so I was planning on waiting until then for a service.
  7. I just gave my S1 Stage a quick boost down some twisties towards the end of a long drive. As usual when going hard i had 'Overdrive' switched off and 'Power' switched on. I think i also had the gear selector sitting in 2nd. Anyway, at the bottom of the hill I put it back into 'D' and resumed regular driving (highway speeds, 100kph) Whenever I put my foot down to accelerate in 3rd, the engine reved up but the gearbox didn't engage! (keep in mind O/D was still off) I tried to switch back to 2nd, that pulled fine. I put it back into 'D' and turned O/D on, and Power off. But still the same thing, where it would normally switch back to 3rd from O/D it just reved and didn't engage. For the next 10mins on the way home I tried several different combinations, but still couldn't get 3rd to engage. I also noticed when I parked the car in my driveway, the idle was pulsing from about 500-1000rpm. Any suggestions???

  9. Spotted a silver S1 following me, then overtaking me on Belair Rd ~20:15 tonight. Was going to follow and have a chat to ya, but I was kinda in a hurry.

    camber will wear tyres. so will incorrect toe.

    what tyre pressure were you running? how long had you been driving at high speed for?

  17. I got a Bee*R panel filter from Otomoto in Sydney. $20 plus $5 postage. I'm not sure on the flow properties, but Bee*R are a fairly well known japanese brand, so should be okay. Most Nissan airboxes should be the same size, especially RBs. Mine is for my S1 Stagea.
  18. You can buy bottles of rust inhibator from hardware stores. If you are after a quick fix for the rust problem, you could just brush this on under the mirror and inside the door. Then when it's dry, put a layer of paint over it. Should stop the growth of the rust spot for a few years
  19. Well, that's what i meant Just be aware that the rust there is a common problem.
  20. There is a buyers guide Stickyed up the top I think. My tip... look out for rust behind the door mirrors.
