Ok guys just wanted a quick discussion about what's going on with my car. A couple of weeks ago went to start my car to go to work and it kind on hesitated then turned over and started. Thought it was weird cos i hadn't had any troubles with it starting at all. Drove to work, then at lunch trying again and nothing. Ticked a couple of times (you know that electrical tick that you get when the battery is flat), so i assumed it was the alternator that was busted and drained the battery. Had it towed to auto-elec and he said it was starter motor that was burnt out and he replaced it. Drove fine after that. Now what took me as strange was the starter was only a year old having replaced it then, but the dash lights, radio and power windows were all working, so i assumed he was right. So got in the car this morning and the exact same thing happened. Makes a ticking sound but doesn't even try to turn over. Now before i ring my auto-electician and give him a piece of my mind i just want to see what you guys suggest it is.... could it be a coincidence that something else has gone or has he screwed me!!!

I get around 300-350km's from a tank in my modded 240kw 34. Thats all city driving though with the occaisional hills squirt.

At the end of the day, seats and interior can be changed and your pretty much paying for the engine..... good luck trying to drive it without getting defected though!

Last night, someone owning a black 34 flashed me on magill road around 7ish. Gave a wave, anyone here?

Ran my 34 on 12psi comfortably for over a year without dramas. I think you'll find the 33 and 34 turbo's are both fairly "fragile" when it comes to high boosting as they both have ceramic turbine wheels, the only real difference between the 2 is the 34 turbo has a lightened rear turbine wheel which makes it spool a lot faster than the 33 turbo. A lot of guys have rebuilt both these turbo's with "high-flow" steel wheels and have found they are able to run upwards of 18psi, getting around 240-250kw's on a proper set-up engine. Look at the forced induction thread, you'll find a bit of info on it. Hope this helps bud.

What if you've just had them replaced and they are sqeaking? Just does it for a couple of seconds when i start the car, but is loud as shit!!!

Ok an update for anyone's future reference. Took it to my mechanic, said really couldn't fault it in many ways, except when he looked at the sparkies they seemed to be white which would mean that my engine is running lean... suggested i put it on the dyno for a more accurate reading of afr's, etc. Ended up being injectors were set close to 100% duty cycle and was causing them to cut out at high revs, so my tuner said he dropped it and lowered boost by 1psi down to 12psi.... which still made the same kw's as at 13psi.... Now the question i have now is why would they just start doing that all of a sudden? Do they have a default "safe mode" that when they hit 100% they automatically go back to standard? Think its upgraded fpr time!

Maybe putting one of them at a time in the "for sale" section, or organising another "group buy" will help to get rid of them.....

Ok, what kind of power are you going to be running? There is no point in getting a full carbotic 1000hp clutch when all you are running is 150kw's. My xtreme heavy duty organic holds my 240kw R34 no worries and didn't cost me $4k! What percentage will drift vs daily be? You don't want to be driving a cop if 99% of the time its on the street in stop start traffic....
